Love seeing you carrying this window, just because you have the highest quality window content on KZbin (in my opinion). Your videos were super helpful when we were making a decision. We live in KC, and we went with Provia Windows. Best I could tell, these were super high quality/energy efficient windows that are a great value for the money. The only (small) downside I concluded is that there are windows with slimmer profiles, which wasn't worth sweating over since we have larger windows without much of a view. We're super happy with them. Thank you!

I really like the Provia Endure series - we have had great success installing this in our area. Its definitely not narrow but thats not a bad thing in our DC area

Ordered a 60” ProVia slider. Great product but was very disappointed that door had a block to stop it from opening fully. So the pass thru opening was small. I called ProVia and to my surprise they sent me a 72” slider but I had to change my header. Which was a pain. I personally would never order 60” slider from them but the 72” works great.

The reason for the bumper is to keep you from smashing your fingers when holding the handle and opening the door. FYI, the bumper is removable

If it was simple as removing the block. I would done it. But for your FYI the combination of a deep side jamb to a wide lock handle and the door stop. It took a 30 inch opening down to a 25” opening.

Hi Jeff!! I really appreciate all your videos. Do you have any thoughts on Ideal Window Company. Manufacturer is in Bayonne, NJ? I am considering the Majestic Signature series vinyl window with ESM glass package for 6 double hung, plus a picture window with a casements window on both sides. I’m also looking at the Provia, Okna for the above windows. Ideal windows seems to have a more narrow profile which I like. . Any thoughts? Thank you for your input.

how do you think a black vinyl provia window compares to a an aluminum clad wooden window from pella? I'm particularly wondering about fading in the sun.

They will all fade over a period of time. I would not make that the determining factor for purchasing one brand over another. The most important thing is going to be the quality of the materials, and even more important, the person who's doing the installation. I don't think you could go wrong with either brand, but I don't think one will outperform the other when it comes to fading.

DON'T go with Provia. I wish I had done more research and paid the extra money for Pella, and yes, make sure the company GUARANTEES proper installation. My company did not, and it's been a pain over a year now.

ProVia makes excellent doors. I have no doubt they would do the same with any windows they're going to put their name on.

Thanks for the video on ProVia Endure. Also thanks for the recommendation of a local installer to me that carries and installs them. I have narrowed down my choice of vinyl double hung replacement windows to the ProVia Endure and the Okna Insul Tec 500 which appear to be similar in quality. However, it seems that the Okna 500 warranty is quite a bit better than the ProVia Endure. The Okna offers a buyer's lifetime plus transferable to 1 subsequent owner warranty on the glass, vinyl and hardware. Whereas the Endure offers only a buyer's lifetime warranty on glass and hardware (non transferable). So if the original buy get's "hit by a beer truck" the day after installation, then there is no longer any warranty on glass and hardware of the ProVia Endure windows. This doesn't seem to show much confidence in the Endure's window's quality versus the Okna 500. I'd like for there to be a window warranty for my spouse, children and/or any subsequent buyer. What are your thoughts on warranties and should warranty be a significant deciding factor? Thanks again for all your great advice. Doug

Thank you for watching and for your question. Obviously, the best warranty is the one you will never need. Typically, window companies have only offered a 20-year warranty on their products. But back around 20 years ago, when the market was getting pretty tight and competitive, company started creating these amazing warranties. The truth is, the average homeowner only lives in her home for 7 and 1/2 years. When company say they offer a double lifetime warranty, that's nice to have, but it's very likely that you will never use it. I would be more concerned about the quality of the installation, then the quality of the window and the warranty. A great window that is installed poorly is going to have many issues that will not be covered by the warranty of the manufacturer.

ProVia has a lifetime warranty on vinyl plus transferable to 1 subsequent user, glass, hardware and even the screens. This is what it says on their warranty page BASIC WINDOW OR PATIO DOOR UNIT - LIFETIME TRANSFERABLE The rigid vinyl and factory-applied wood components of the window or patio door (not including factory installed jamb extensions), are warranted against chipping, cracking, peeling, pitting, blistering, warping or delamination for as long as you own and live in the Home in which the product was originally installed. This warranty is transferable to one subsequent purchaser. HARDWARE - LIFETIME ProVia further warrants the moving parts, such as balances on double-hung windows and locking mechanisms in all units, for as long as the original purchaser owns and lives in the Home in which the product was originally installed, if those parts are not free from defects in material and workmanship under conditions of normal use and wear. GLASS BREAKAGE - LIFETIME ProVia further warrants the insulated glass units utilizing Super Spacer in its vinyl windows or patio doors against breakage as follows: (1) If the glass in a properly registered and warranty covered unit breaks as the result of a manufacturing defect; (2) In the event of an accident in the Home that is not covered by insurance or is of an amount that is within the insurance policy deductible, ProVia will replace the glass free of charge, for as long as the original purchaser owns and lives in the Home in which it was originally installed. Hi Jeff, thanks for these wonderful videos. You mentioned about "fine line weld system to Endure. Does this weld system also applies to Aspect? To be honest the sample I saw today from my local store, both Endure and Aspect have that "typical vinyl frame visible weld line" instead nice finished joint the one you have on your video....

Thank you for watching and your question. To the best of my knowledge, all of their products offer that well system. That is something they started in the past couple of years. Perhaps the samples that are at your local dealer are dated?

New Construction, Ohio - Provia Endure v. Onka 800 v. Anderson 100 v United 5600. Builder and builder supply warehouse pushing the United Windows. I'm learning toward the Provia given weight and construction. Seems like a solid build. I know price comes into play but suggestions would be appreciated.

Love your videos! I’m in Maryland replacing 100 year old single-pane windows and 1960s-era storms. I’ve found an installer I trust and he’s given me two quotes - one for Andersen Woodwright and the other for Provia Endure. My biggest concern with a vinyl window is that I’ve lived in houses with vinyl windows before and when it’s very windy I can hear the vinyl rubbing or flexing. It’ll even wake me up! Have you ever heard of this before? If so, only in cheaper grade vinyl or might that also be an issue with the Provia Endures? Thanks for teaching us all so much about windows!

If you are in Maryland you should try Quality Window & Door, Inc. They have the Provia Endure and the Marvin Infinity fiberglass

I had Provia from Curb Appeal in Michigan and they were terrible at installation. I had to have the owner come out to look add a window that was leaking rain water..and still he didn't think there was anything wrong; he blamed it on my house structure, not the installation. would not do a thing until I called the provia company directly and told them the situation. Lo and behold, the leaking stopped after the second installer did the job right.

Just bought and installed 7 Provia windows. The picture windows are fine though the frames bow at the top regardless of installation efforts to pull them up in the center. But the big problem is that all 4 double hungs are defective by design of the load balancers. They changed the design a year or so ago and bottom line is that it flawed. The top sash won’t slide down without the balancer catching in the section that is beveled out for servicing. They did not work even in the box. All the company would offer is replacement balancers. I’ve installed the replacement parts and they still catch or break. The balancer spring cartridges are very weak plastic. Also they provided terrible customer service. They would not address the issue until their field rep had time to see them (3weeks later). This even though they had photo documentation and the distributor had seen the problem in person.

I attempted to post a comment a couple days ago and I do not see it so I’m not sure if this is being moderated and my comment is still being reviewed. In summary, I bought double hung inure pro windows, and they are not functional as the top sash will not reliably slide without the load balancers catching and then breaking. Fundamentally it is a flaw design and I have not received good customer support on the issue. They sent replacement load balancers. There is no video to say the recommended way to install them. It is very difficult to install them and the problem occurs as it is a design problem with the flimsy plastic cartridges holding the springs.

Provia does not honor warranty at all. Your installer is supposed to do all warranty. Problem is when installer goes out of business. The huge warranty no real way to get it done.

I HATE these Provia windows I bought! I wanted sound dampening first above energy efficiency. Too bad I believed the salesman instead of doing my research. I notice very little difference. I can hear cars drive by from the back bedroom, where, I've never heard that in any other house I've lived in. very disappointed with these windows. The Michigan company, Curb Appeal, had terrible customers service. I had to have the guy come out over five times because the windows were not installed properly. during the heavy rains we had in the summer there was water pouring through my windows and curb appeal blamed my house instead of the window installation.. finally the provia rep had to come out and still the issues weren't addressed. stay away from these windows and any company that sells them.
