Great to see this new podcast, guys! Looking forward to watching future episodes. The biggest takeaway from Khost: don't make an officer with minimal field experience, and zero war zone experience, Chief of Base at one of your most austere and important forward operations bases in an active war zone. However knowledgeable about the target they may be, they simply don't have the operational experience to make critical operational decisions correctly. The COB actively overuled good advice given by more experienced subordinates, two of whom died in the attack. Darren LaBonte and Scott Roberson. As a result in this case, nine people were killed and six others wounded. Qualifications MUST take precedence over political correctness.
