Hovind's Failure to Correct his errors

The convicted fraud and charlatan NIFB cult leader in Alabama claims to have "demolished" my arguments in our debate, and he recently posted an attempted rebuttal to my closing comments. He hadn't actually even addressed any of my arguments in our debate. To prove that, this video re-uploads my old previous answers to the questions he is still repeating now, as if I hadn't already answered them before. All he does is keep asserting that he is right after being proven wrong. That's not good enough.
Here I show his refusal to admit two clearly demonstrated facts, (1) that evolution is not a religion by any definition, and (2) that evolution isn't what he thinks it is; that the theory of evolution includes macro as well as micro but does not include "cosmic evolution" {Big Bang cosmology) "chemical evolution" (nucleosynthesis) "star & planet evolution" (Nebular theory/Core accretion theory) and "organic evolution" (abiogenesis).
Hovind's problem is that he thinks any use of the word in its old colloquial meaning of "change over time" makes that part of the theory of evolution, which he thinks is the umbrella term for what he calls the "overarching principle" of scientific explanations that he finds counter to his religious beliefs. In short, he is demonstrating the 6th foundational falsehood of creationism.

Belief is like training. The great reward is for being able to carry on the belief in the face of ANY reasoning, and to discard the use of reasoned justification. As you see with Hovind, many become experts in duping themselves. Believers need simple congratulation above all else. Grass IS green. The only people required to believe that grass is green are colorblind or blind people. Belief by definition means you are accepting something as honest or true based on evidence. This definition implies trust and faith in someone or something else that something is true because you can’t see it for yourself. The big bang is a belief, God is a belief, and macroevolution is a belief. Because we can’t observe these things ourselves we are taking someone else’s word on it based on evidence.

Misty Lover Did you mean macroevolution? I believe in microevolution actually. Well these thing wouldn’t disprove the existence of a timeless, spaceless, immaterial and personal God. By default there is no way that the universe could have created itself. But IF we found out it did then really there is no belief. I can’t tell you what I would think or do because all we would be at that point are reactionary beings with no free will and we just do what our chemicals would tell us to do since there would be no free will. If you’re simply repeating what some creationist has brainwashed you into believing that’s sad when the actual science is right in front of you. They strive to deconstruct the new ideas and accept the strongest ideas to create a stable foundation of knowledge. The stronger a foundation is, the stronger a knowledge base becomes. Now what is so incredible about science is we can fix a flaw in the foundation of knowledge making it far stronger than it was before, whereas in religion a person tends to just believe something even when it is demonstrably false. As far as religion goes, I'll freely admit I couldn't read the Bible because it read like a poorly written collection of Stephen King short stories. What Hovind aims to do is falsely assert that the 1st and 3rd kind have equivolance, as they are both a belief. Do draw parallel to the absurdity, I live in a first floor apartment. I use the stairs because I believe that I do not have the ability to float/fly unaided, based on the overwhelming evidence that humans can neither fly nor float. Applying Hovind's logic, someone jumping out of the window would be as equally as rational of an act, as long as they believe that they will be unharmed (despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary) instead of breaking both their legs. It would take years to convince him somehow to respond to the issues being discussed as he knows he hasn't a factual leg to stand on. Thus he recycles the lies which convince his followers. Their last debate AronRa called him on him stating that biology textbooks teach that people come from rocks. Kent offered an elementary textbook with a vague reference to rocks and minerals with abiogenesis. AronRa correctly pointed out that minerals and rocks are different and that the quote he provided did not state at all what he said. Kent just kept saying "It says right here that humans come from rocks and I'm not wrong!" I mean what do you do with that? It's like providing a sound recording of what someone said and they still say, "I didn't say that!" It's just incredibly dishonest.

Kent Hovind seems completely unaware of the work in particle physics being done at CERN. That is where much of the data Kent thinks is “made up” is actually coming from, as they are able to simulate (though at much lower energy states, the conditions of the extremely early universe, and what it looked like. The mathematical model, which is constantly being refined as we learn more, is very detailed going back to almost t=0. And we are talking about a detailed mathematical model starting at about t=10^-36 seconds after the spectacularly misnamed “Big Bang”. You are correct in that it wasn’t an explosion, but an EXPANSION, which is still happening, down to this moment. The problem arises when cosmologists try to go beyond that time, and density approaches infinity. This is called, in mathematics, a singularity, but what it means in the universe is that we just don’t understand exactly what was happening in that spacetime. If this sounds familiar, it should, for the problem also exists in the center of a black hole. We can describe in great detail what happens for most of the region in and around the black hole, but not at the point of singularity, where density again approaches infinity. Basically, the principles that govern how the universe functions just doesn’t apply to either singularity. However, this does NOT mean that black holes don’t exist, astronomers have recently managed to capture an image of a very distant supermassive black hole. Despite the fact that our understanding is imperfect, we have very solid evidence that black holes exist. Likewise, we also have a great deal of evidence that “The Big Bang” happened, and we have a very detailed model which explains what we observe, which goes back to very nearly the beginning. But the fact that cosmologists don’t understand every detail doesn’t mean that the theory isn’t very solid, and based on a great deal of evidence, both at the grand scale, as well as at the particle physics level. This is WHY scientists are building ever larger particle accelerators. The US foolishly pulled the funding for a very large particle accelerator back in the 1980’s. It was to have been built in Texas. Instead, it’s in Europe. I only have a limited understanding of this myself, though as an interested layperson, I know a bit more about it than I do about evolutionary biology. Mr. Hovind doesn’t even have a child’s understanding of “The Big Bang” Theory. He repeatedly fails to grasp that it wasn’t an explosion at all. That comes from the name, “Big Bang”, which was coined by Fred Hoyle, who despised the theory, and tagged it with that nickname, which has stuck. What led Georges Lemaitre to begin exploring what became that theory wasn’t his religious beliefs, but his examination of Hubble’s discovery about galaxies moving away from ours, and wondering what would happen if one ran time in reverse, when the galaxies would have been closer and closer together. Lemaitre strictly separated his scientific work from his religious faith. I’ll have to double check, but if my memory hasn’t failed me, Lemaitre quickly requested that the pope of his time to refrain from making any claim that this theory was evidence for God’s existence and as creator. It’s remarkable for a priest to speak up to a pope like that, especially back in the pre-Vatican II Catholic Church. But the pope, almost certainly Pope Pius XI, listened, and even more unusually, refrained from making any public comment regarding Lemaitre’s scientific work. The hierarchy learned from the Galileo and Giordano Bruno horrorific persecution. Bruno was the first to posit the idea that the Sun was another star, or that stars were other suns. He had no way, at that time, to provide any evidence, but he turned out to be right.

A thing I've noticed about Kent: He latches on to specific words like "pontificate" and over uses them. He stated that he's had to look up some of the words you use. I'm not sure if he's doing this as a way of educating his audience or because he genuinely doesn't know the words, so accuses you of using overly complex language. I believe it's the former. In the beginning of his KZbin, he goes deep into the philosophy of the Bible. This seems to target more educated people. His content has gotten more and more basic, and his tactics of gaining followers have gotten more...simplistic. Which would necessarily target lower intelligence individuals. Repeating phrases and ideas in the same manner with each video, surface level Bible lessons...I find myself excited to listen to his content because I love listening to preachers. (I am an atheist...I just study religion academically) I think his experiences on youtube have forced this tactic change. Plus now that he's got most of the funding for DAL, he just needs free labor.

Regarding his "six meanings of evolution", I doubt he came up with those himself for several reasons. First, I doubt his ability to have an original thought.
