I am single and in my 40s. in my early 30s I had a boyfriend to whom once I confessed my frustration about being single.That boyfriend actually asked me one question" Do you think all married people are happy?" That REALLY made me think and helped me deal better with my status.

True but more and more it's about the stigma of being single especially past a certain age. I know a lot of married women who knowingly or unknowingly exclude single gal's from the social activities. And in today's world when everyone is so busy being single can shine a light on just how alone one is. Not everyone gets married purely for romantic reasons some do it for companionship or for opportunities... sometimes it's easier to accomplish certain goals with a husband. Unpopular opinion but it's a man's world. Think of any women who has reached pinnacle of success. She had the backing of a man in some way shape or form. Whether it's was an executive who gave her a chance, a book publisher etc. Heck Beyonce wouldn't be the Beyonce she is without her Daddy or Jay Zs influence. Not to take away from any individual talent or hard work but it is what it is. A man's/husband's influence can really put you on in various spheres.

Fumi I'm 63. I got married at age 55. Me and my hubby have been going strong for 8 years now. My hubby and I were boyfriend/girlfriend from age 20-26. We kept in touch over the years. He never married , nor did I. Ladies, I didn't think I would ever get married after 50+ but I did. KEEP HOPE ALIVE!

Thank you Fumi. I am enjoying your videos. I am 43, never married, no kids, I can't have kids because I had a hysterectomy because of fibroids. I am still healing, I have been believing God for a husband since I was 20. I've decided to love myself and do the things I love, live life to the fullest. I am so liberated from expectations of African society about what it means to be a woman!!!

Patty-I am single, in my 70S, and I've never been married. I physically had no children, but I had many children and young people cross my path with whom I still have contact. One of them said they were children of my heart. They really are. I am facing retirement alone. However, I am currently going down a new path of creativity, and so many things are surfacing I never dreamed of. I believe God knows whom I will be with and when he will appear in my life. I feel he's coming, I just don't know when. That is kind of exciting. Thank you, Fumi, for the reinforcing words.

I'm 45. I knew motherhood wasn't my God-given calling when I was 12. I'm unmarried & I've never felt that longing that single women feel when they see married people. I am scarred from the trauma of having unhappily married parents, siblings and friends who stayed together long after they should. I already talked to God about it & he agrees that marriage & kids aren't for me; if he didn't, I would know it😂

I’ve always wanted a family. I’m your age now and never married no children. My friends’ children are in college and some are young adults. It’s tough. I feel like I spent so much time on my career and that was a waste on many levels because having a family, you leave a legacy that’s different and more meaningful. Now I don’t care one iota about my field/profession. I wish things were different.

I feel you, but please don't be sad. I'm 47. I always wanted kids (the mariage part, not so much... bad male figures early in life). I have 6 siblings, they all have children. I don't (and I'm the one who loves kids the most!). But at the same time I see them struggle with the children. It's tough. There are positives and negatives to every situation. I say to myself we are all threads of the great fabric of life, all intertwined. If you think about it, the legacy does not really last long... who remembers his/her great-great-grandmother? Not many of us. Also we can leave a legacy in many other ways: adopt, mentor youngsters, write, etc. I wish you all the best.

Yeah, I never wanted to get married. Had a child out of wedlock, and I wasn’t concerned about getting married. I did get married, was Married for 14 years. I got divorced, I’m not interested in marriage, but never against it. I have never had any peer pressure after 15, that’s when I realized people don’t really like you. Yeah, you have people that like you, but the majority of people are living their own lives, we have a million things to think about. Children, spouses, careers, family, no one has time to worry about what other people are doing. It’s life! Great video 😊

This video came right on time as I’ve been feeling this way recently. Every time I go on social media, someone I know is getting engaged, married or having children. I’m still a virgin in my late 20s with minimal dating experience. With how dating is now, it’s so hard to find someone genuine. Guys have always told me that I’m marriage material, but they typically say they aren’t ready for that level of commitment or they ghost me for women with more sexual experience. Also, you’d be surprised that a lot of women and men settle for the sake of having a title and warm body. A lot of people are in relationships by themselves. So I don’t idolize people’s relationship, but I do always ask God when will my time come?

I join the community of so many of these here who are completely satisfied & content as a single (widowed) with no desire to remarry. My sweet husband left big shoes that will never be filled & I honestly believe there is no match to the love he had for me. I gave him all of myself & have no more to give to another man. I'm too selfish now. I give my love to my children, grandchildren, friends (married & single) & more importantly, to the things of God. Not a jealous or envious bone in my body towards my married fam & friends. Not 1 day of longing, loneliness, looking or lusting for a man. Love is a beautiful gift. I still cry at weddings (I don't avoid them) & love the idea of marriage...but for someone else😂

I am the last one in my friends group that is single with no kids so sometimes the pressure is there. But, at the same time I look at their lives and say I don’t want it. Just from the title alone that brought back a memory to me. I felt left out for the first time a couple of weeks ago, just after turning 30 when I heard (I believe I wasn't meant to hear the conversation just by the look my friends gave each other) that my friends (all married) were planning a party with their spouses without informing me to celebrate one that just bought her new apartment. It's something I have shame about but I guess I am not alone. I turned 30 this year and I am not quite where I want to be financially and this has got me down. I sometimes look at married people who seem to have it all. Nice big apartments or houses, seem to have their finances together while I am struggling to make ends meet. I am working towards being better with my finances and hearing your story about how things were for you when you were younger is comforting and encouraging to know my life could definitely improve for the better. I did not get married until I was 27. My husband and I have been married for 36 years. The key to choosing the right man for me was giving all control to God. I asked him to send the man that he would have for me not the ones I had been choosing (most of them turned out to be awful). So I let God choose for me. Trust me I know it was God because I would not have chosen him. I can say I have been blessed with a best friend who happens to be my husband. On another note my sister Fumi you look marvelous! Celebrate life, longevity and peace. Reality, women out number men, therefore all of us won't be able to get married but for those who desire that, I pray you find the desires of your heart. But while waiting learn to marry yourself first. Give yourself permission to be in love with you first.
@VivSees Жыл бұрын
Women dont outnumber men. That’s the narrative that males push. Marriage minded Women outnumber “marriageable” males. Globally, more male babies are born than female babies. In reality, straight women want the man they’d wish to marry to be mature minded, straight, financially capable, mentally stable, protective, loving, faithful, honest, etc. How many males do you know who fit that criteria? Few, if any! Plenty of males but very few have the qualities that women seek. For a woman to be proposed to by a male wanting marriage, he basically just wants a physically attractive, loving, loyal, honest woman. How many women do you know like that? Unlimited! You are correct though, many women will never get married. Period. Not because of the quantity of men but because of the quality of men available. Women are much pickier than men and we HAVE to be because we bear the offspring.

You are such a beautiful woman inside and out! I pray to be this poised, elegant and vibrant as I grow older. Thank you for your wisdom. There are women (and men) who often become bitter due to life's circumstances and it takes away from them enjoying each stage of life. They often think "Well if I had to go through this hardship then so do you" rather than sharing lessons and teaching moments. I can tell you are a wonderful person to the people around you because you are giving us such caring and attentive advice. You don't know us personally yet you are sharing with a heart that really cares for our growth and wellness. Many people close to us probably have the same experiences and wisdom as you but would not share it generously because they are harboring pain and do not wish to see others happy. Love you Aunty Fumi!

If you are single take your time to live your life and in doing so enjoy yourselves. Marriage is not always easy and it is not for everyone. Thank you Mrs Fumi.

I'm reorganizing jewelry clothes shoes purses and wigs 😅yes I live wigs, too.I ordered Julianne in 2 colors. I'm not giving up on love again.Gonna dressed to impress as I used to do before COVID. When my husband arrives, I'll be mentally physically and stylishly chic ready. I lost my husband in 2009 my Soul Mate I am single not dating or seeing anyone, it gets very lonely sometimes not having a male companion to talk too, Travel with, laugh with cuddle with ect. I am very cautious.of people because after 30 years of friendship with some I found out they were fake friends that only looked out for self, which has made me feel more lonely. However I rather be alone than to waste anymore time with fake people. Much Love ❤️ Fumi Peace ✌🏾 and Love 💕

I am just now commenting, have been catching up on all my videos….i am 56 and still praying and waiting for that time to come for me. But for now, just taking care of my parents and their health. But I have always felt the same….so many of my friends are married with kids, not all have kids, but most do. I can totally relate.
