Al, don't be surprised if the lever on your 1919's starts to get super loose out on its own now that you've removed the screw. You should always use a dab of loctite on the lever screw to keep it nice and snug.

I want to get a 1919 and I’d definitely want to 0 gap it. I have a legend right now and I’m wondering if that bracket would work? Also if it does work, would I be able to use the 1919 bracket on the legend so if the 1919 dies I could at least use the legend for the weight? Thanks man great video

Idk know if legend will work . You need a old 5 star or senior . I would try it. And yes if it fits you can put the corded clipper with other bracket .

After sooooo many issues with my babyliss fx gold clippers, I ordered these because I loooved the corded seniors. But they were corded lol. Why is it that the old cordless seniors aren’t around or are super high priced? Anyways so glad I came across this showing what exactly needs to be switched out. Got my old corded seniors to switch the slider out onto these. I’m so excited. Btw does anyone notice if these get super hot like the andis masters??? I was worried about that metal housing getting hot.

No they dont get that hot. I believe the cordless wahl seniors are discontinued that's why they are so expensive. On the other hand the 1919 are going for $110. I think you love using the 1919 it's great machine . Best of luck and keep grinding 💈

Does the lever still open up as far with the other bracket on there? I know when I put the taper blade on my cordless Seniors I felt like the lever opened too far where the teeth of the cutting blade were barely visible behind the teeth of the stationary blade, which made the performance suffer because it was missing hairs and required more passes to cut the hair evenly.

I think you misunderstood the intention of my question. I'm asking if the lever travels the same distance with either bracket in place. For example, when the lever is fully open is the hair cut to the same length (or at least close enough not to be noticeable)?

I think it allows lever to open slightly more that's what allows it to be zero gapped ....I tried it on several cuts it works

By your First Comment and Question, based upon your Experience with what happened when you put a Taper Blade on your Cordless Senior, I think that what Blake P. is trying to find out, from those of you who have made the Bracket Switch on the 1919, is: When you make the Bracket Exchange on the Model 1919, to allow it to be Zero Gapped when the Lever is All the way Closed..... WHEN YOU OPEN THE LEVER ALL THE WAY, (when the Smaller Moving Blade’s Teeth Tips, are Farthest away from the Stationary Blade’s Teeth Tips - The Opposite of being Zero Gapped).... will the Moving Blade’s Teeth Tips, STILL BE AHEAD ENOUGH, OF THE BOTTOM OF THE TEETH’S GULLETS, OF THE STATIONARY BLADE, so that he doesn’t Experience what he did when he put a Taper Blade on his Senior, Which was that when he Opened the Lever ALL THE WAY OPEN, that the Teeth Of The Moving Blade, Where Opened TOO MUCH, so much so, that the New Taper Blade that he put on his Senior, WOULD NOT CUT RELIABLY AT ALL. That, being the Result of the New Blade he put on his Senior, (“OPENED TOO FAR” - Or the Teeth Tips needed to Extend Farther Forward on his Moving Blade, Which If they did, would actually Negate the Need for a Different, Zero-Gap Capable Bracket) If I understand Blake P. Correctly, he is just asking if he Installs one of the Brackets that allow him to (“Zero Gap”) his M1919, or a M1919, if he will be regretting that he may be doing so, with a Trade Off of Poor Performance with the Lever Fully Opened. ***** As I’m Editing this, making sure it makes Sense.... I just thought of another, Easy Fix, to make the Existing Parts of the M1919, Capable Of being Zero-Gapped. ##################### I was thinking about what exactly is needed to achieve a Zero-Gap, without a Bracket or other Part Exchange, as some People have pointed out is an easy Fix. Using my Machinist Thinking, Those of you who have Dremel Tools, or a Foredom Grinder, or even an Air Grinder. With an Appropriate Small Diameter Grinding Wheel, (any Diameter at least one Close to the Thread Diameter Of the Screws used to hold the Fixed Blade to the Bracket, with the Fixed Blade removed, all you would need to do, would be to Elongate the Side of the two Holes that the Mounting Screws go through, on the Side that are Closest to the Cutting Teeth! Yes, if you wanted to take it to a Machine Shop, so that they could Set the Fixed Blade up Accurately, and remove just the Exact amount that would be Required to Elongate the Holes on the Fixed, that Minimal Amount, that is where you could have that Perfect amount Removed, so that you could even Zero-Gap without even Looking, as all that you would need to do, would be to Loosen the Screws, push the Blade against the two Screws.... and Tight the Screws again!!!!!!!!! If you want your Zero-Gap, to actually be some Number of the Moving/Cutting Blade, to be just behind the Fixed Blade, then you will need to tell them exactly what that Value is. With the Side of the Blade against a Mill Stop, once they Dial in the Location of the Two Holes in the Blade, they shouldn’t have any Trouble whatsoever, Grinding out the Same amount from each Hole’s Side, then removing the Blade from the Mill, and trying out the New Position Of the Blade, Noting any Changes that should be made! The Blade Can then be placed back into the Mill, easily, within .0005” or less of it’s previous Position.... and any Determined Amounts Ground off the Side of the Elongated Holes. And

Yes! I have the Taper 2000’s and just switched the blade slide bracket out with my 1919’s. Now my 1919’s are zero gapped and I can still zero gap my Taper 2000’s with the bracket from the 1919’s.

A senior you can zero gap your blade. That means close it to zero. Tge 1919 you cannot zero gap unless you change bracket. Other than that they are very similar machines.

When I google it, some websites have the clipper listed as the “Wahl Professional Limited Edition 100 year anniversary” clipper and some websites just it have it listed as “Wahl 100 year old anniversary” clipper. Is their a physical difference? Or are they the same regardless?

Eric Na if you switch the blade slide from your magic clip to the 1919, you’ll be able to zero gap both. But you could also buy from the place I got them.

No on seniors you do not need to do this , only to the 1919. The bracket you switch is what makes you able to zero gap it.
