Hi! I recently did a 36 hour fast and had nothing on that day except plain water or maybe a cup of black coffee and was find the entire day except for a little headache around my usual eating window.. but the next day morning, I woke up a bit weak and the entire day, I was a bit dizzy.. buying electrolytes is the plan but I have plenty of pink salt at my home... when and how much do you consume it on a longer fast?
@ReviewswithRed
@ReviewswithRed 5 ай бұрын
@@Sanaiya14 I would say as needed I usually start out with about half teaspoon in my water but if you feel you need more go ahead and use more. You can also put it in your black coffee as well! I would just say use it as you feel you might need it. It varies from person to person. Start out with a little and add more if you feel you need to!

Thanks so much for this video Jackie! I just finished my first 36 hour fast this morning so it was very timely seeing your own experience. After watching so many of your videos where you reference Fast Feast Repeat, Im finally going to order it !! It is so easy to get overwhelmed by all the information online of the dos and don’ts. I can get really wrapped up in the food to break a fast, wanting to make sure I’m doing it right - but so much of this is trial and error and seeing what works for your own body. So thank you for always being so chill and non-judgmental around the food side of things. I’m pescatarian - so no bone broth. Today I broke my fast with a can of tuna. (Because I read somewhere it’s good to break with protein??) and waited an hour before having kefir with a cup of sauerkraut, a bit of kimchi, and a couple spoons of hemp hearts, chia and flax. And a hard boiled egg. I have a lot of digestive issues since having a gallbladder removal, and this sets me up feeling the best for the rest of the day! (Not that I eat this healthy for the rest of the day, by no means!! 😂) Also good to know about the importance of refeeding!! So good to know. Haha I know this is a lot of details - I just really appreciate reading other people’s experiences and tips and tricks. Take care!

Hey Jacky, great video, I started 36 hour fasting with 0 calories, I didn’t like it at all so I do the 500 calorie down day and I’m losing consistently, I’m from the Caribbean, so we eat a lot of starchy foods which I enjoy, so I can do down days with 500 calories 3 times a week for maintenance as well as for losing the weight, if I feel I’m losing to much, I’ll just have 2 down days instead of three. I’m about 15 pounds to goal weight.

I've been back on OMAD for the past week and caught this video a few days ago and decided to do it. And it was great! I think the key was eating later on the day of starting the fast and then no food at all for the following day until the next morning. It ended up being 40.5 hours. Today is my refeed day and it's been a good day of healthful eating. I dropped 2# during this fast!

the actual fasting process dosent begin until 5 hrs after you've eaten.. longer if you havent prepared ketogenically and the last thing you ate was carb focused and spiked blood glucose & produced a huge insulin spike. people give up because they are told that they can eat whatever they want and right after the last bite-- theyve begun fasting. People love to hear good news about their bad habits. if you eat mostly fat for roughly 48 hrs before fasting and are honest with yourself and only begin your fasting clock 5 hrs after your last meal, you will see results with a 36 hr fast.

Do you have the book Fast like a Girl by Dr Mindy Pelz? This is what I found (and Dr Mindy's KZbin channel) and she recommends LMNT also. I'm 24.5 hours into my 36 hour fast (it's currently 7.24pm). It's my first go at the 36 hour fast and I honestly wrestled with the idea but since I am attempting to fast according to my cycle as per Dr Mindy's book, I need to fit it in somewhere. So I'm breaking my fast tomorrow morning at 7 am hopefully with a cup of chicken bone broth before I rn out the door to take my daughter to the bus. I have been following Dr Mindy's strategies for a bit over 2 weeks and have shifted 4.2kg eating clean BUT I gained 300grams over night because I had a (rather yummy) salted caramel slice and this was the consequence - the net carbs were way too high. Dr Mindy calls the 36 hour fast the fat burner fast. I don't think I'll go for a 48 any time soon. I'm in this to shift 40kg and to balance the hormones of this 47 year old body.

I get diahreea if I'm not careful of how I break my 36 h fasts and what I do is that I start eating again with a raw veggie, like a carrot, a bell pepper, etc., then I wait for about 30 min to 1 h and eat something with protein and little fat, such as a boiled egg, then wait maybe another 30 min and only then I have like a full meal (but nothing too heavy). This is how it works for me, at least.

61, male, 1,82 m, trying to go from 88 kg to 79. I have some experience with Keto, and I did some ODM and alternate day fasting. Now I am serious about ADF (40 to 42 hours) until I reach my goal, and after this I will probably do OMD and perhaps one day fasting weekly. I am happy I found this channel, as I get concrete information about what to do in the up days. Two meals seems a good idea. Yesterday at my up day I had too many snacks. Today I will fast. As a sport teacher and a avid tennis player I do a lot of sport. Movement is definitely not a problem for me. Ok, thanks for the video! @@edthebritishguy you may want to try coffee w/ no cream and see how that makes you feel (whether it makes it easier to fast - b/c cream is something that triggers insulation response). so if you finished eating by even 20h00 at 10 am you'd have 14 hrs. little by little you can achieve 16 hrs (whereby you moved your first meal to noon). the health benefits are really remarkable. What I found is the most important weight to track is from one fast day to another. After eating, water weight appears so going up 3 pounds makes sense but It isn’t fat. So I weigh in the morning before I break my fast on my feast days. But honestly looking at your weight from one week to another is a better way of seeing weight loss overall.
@FastingFoodie
@FastingFoodie Жыл бұрын
When I was actively losing weight, I would see this too. However, this is why Gin suggests looking at weight averages week to week. When you’re comparing an average it’s much less likely to show the day-to-day variance and you’ll be able to see if you’re in a losing pattern.
