Fasting is part of my religion. Fasting teaches us the sufferings of the poor and needy, how they don't get to eat what we get to eat. It teaches us other things too, but I don't have enough time to type (Gotta go to sleep)

For people who don't have body fat stored, it maybe a bit too much torture. But I did some fasting, worked even cyckled to work in my early 30s and survived. Juicing, great if you have that luxury. On the Buddha, my understanding is that he realised through severe fasting, that it was not the way, torture is not the way to liberation. And started so called middle way, moderate eating once a day to keep body able to keep him focused on meditation, so he came to his enlightenment. To reduce consumption is a positive thing and testing once psychological clinging to food is useful for some insight.

Oh George I’m so sorry for the incident at the end. My heart goes out to you. The video helped me a lot. I’ve been trying to get further than 40 hours fasting and I feel I can do it now. I’m doing it mainly so my body can spend time healing, autophagy. I find that as I get older more goes wrong with me. But I’ll be grateful for any other results of fasting. Thank you.

My longest fast is 11 days. I have nothing but water, tea, electrolytes and vitamins. I have found that the ideal length of fast for me is 4 days max. Otherwise I get a itchy keto rasch. No fun. But I live fasting. I plan on fasting between Christmas and New year. Why wait till the new year to reset after ALL of the sugar I have consumed during November and December. The key us to have a list of things to keep your body and mind busy. After day 2 the actual hunger goes away.

Congratulations George! It was very impressive. Funny that I just ran across this video after completing an 82-hour water fast myself last week. I did it for the purposes of self-healing as well as self-discovery. I was going for 72 hours but decided to take it a bit further and gave in to my impulses after 82 hours. You have inspired me to make my next goal to be a 7 day fast. I know I can do it. After 82 hours, my body felt amazingly clean. Pains and aches disappeared and I experienced some of the same mental clarity you described in your video. When I ate for the first time after even just that short fast, I was surprised at how wonderful everything tasted. It was as if my taste buds had been reset. Thanks for posting this video of your experience. I'm going to go for it next month and see what happens. Thanks for the inspiration!

Like intermittent dieting fasting is the same thing basically It can be very dangerous to do even if your checked by your doctor If you feel overly tired is a sign to actually stop and put a little fruit or vegetable in you The doctor told my sister this too who was only on a diet a few days and had to go to the hospital Hunter gathers also ate vegetation along the way insects or small game they didn't just not eat anything If you look at diets you will see over time they change your metabolism if you go on them to often The doctor also told my sister this I hope you can pass this along my conscience needs to help LOL sorry so long

I learned from my Sister that her doctor told her and I had read this later Fasting/diets can lower your metabolism eventually and can be bad for your cardiovascular system as well I read too that hunter-gathers also ate veggies insects or small game along the way So although you feel good from fasting or diets if your overly tired is a sign to eat a little you know?

Great content George, keep up the good work ! I'm so glad you approached the topic of fasting, and were brave enough to go for 7 days yourself 😁 .. I feel that we become so accustomed to eat multiple times a day but if we really pause and wait for hunger to come, sit with it and wait, instead of eating when we think we should, a whole day can easily pass and that's when I realise that we eat out of habit, we don't really eat when we need to .. and when you stop the input of food, that's when you realise nourishment is on so many levels .. I love your humour and wisdom, thank you for sharing your journey ! And I hope you get your money back as well ✌️

Cool video! I've thought about fasting on and off but never real found the 'right' time. I remember being wierdly fascinated by the idea as a kid (I was brought up catholic), probably because it seemed to run so counter to the way we all lived - the whole day built around food. Sorry you got scammed. I got scammed in Beijing once and felt weirdly ashamed afterwards, but my experience has since helped me avoid getting scammed at least a couple of times. It remains a TMN (tell mum never) experience though! Maybe I should change that!

I've made 2 dry feastings this year. No food, no water for 96h while still working (I'm bridge design engineer). Unfortunately challenging job made me stop fasting after 4 days, but I could easily reach 6-7 days of dry fast. I recommend dry fast for those who like me haven't got much time. It is assumed that 1d of dry fasting = 3d of water fasting

Very dangerous! The most one should do dry fasting for is 3 to 5 days and 5 is pushing it. I would definitely not recommend this unless your vitals are being supervised at a fasting clinic.

@@EnigmaticPsyche Based on what you make this opinion? From what I see, people in the West too much rely on Clinics, specialists, rules applied by gov, and they do not pay attention to what their body tells them. Your body has greater wisdom than every clinics of the world. Just pay enough attention and tap into that wisdom. I know ppl who went for 10-12 days of dry fasting and they cured some very serious illnesses.

Food isn’t just fat or energy. It isn’t sinful You need a set amount of nutrients each day As someone who nearly died twice of ulcerative colitis, had my colon surgically removed I’ve learnt dehydration and electrolyte deficiency can cause symptoms such as fast heart rate and insomnia. That can be potassium deficiency my x-bf died of it from the noro virus Those cravings aren’t your body being the bad guy. If you crave chocolate for example that’s night in magnesium, so your body maybe saying ‘hey I need this’ So take care of yourself listen to your body Go gentle

I love fasting, it feels like living with cheat mode enabled when at its best. It gets much easier with experience, especially because the fears go away after you have actually tried it. Apart from a juice fast to ease into it, I can highly recommend a healthy keto diet, because the purpose of that is to live mostly off of fats, which is exactly what will happen during the fast - but you actually get to eat!

I just want to say if you guys have ever had an eating disorder or have a restrictive personality already, please stay away from fasting. While it can have wonderful benefits to people with cravings or lack of self monitoring, it can lead you down a dangerous spiral. Yes, we CAN survive without food for days. Yes, when in survival mode, we can gain energy bursts. But that's corrisol running our system in order to GET FOOD. You do not have to expose yourself to accute danger to learn about your feelings and I feel like the people who would benefit most from fasting won't do it while people who are already very abstinent and mindful will go even more extreme. Not saying George was in danger or losing himself he did really well and knows what he's doing! Stay safe and be gentle with yourself guys💕
