Noise from the engine? Noise from the chain? Adjuster replacement. How to solve chain noise problem? Chain adjustment mechanism. Chain adjustment screw in motorcycle. TVS Apache RTR chain noise.
Recently my TVS Apache RTR 200 4V got new rear tyre and after that I faced issue with my drive chain. Chain slack and alignment of axle is controlled by chain clamp adjuster and adjustment screw. Misaligned axle can damage the chain and shortened the chain sprocket life.

you don't need a spring washer there, a regular one will do. since its an exposed part, i will even recommend that you can make one in good grade SS in your friendly neighborhood machine shop/lathe to avoid rusting and corrosion. KTM OE ones are ss adjusters.
@thesportztourer
@thesportztourer 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot for the suggestion 👍 Spring washers are designed to provide tension after tightening that helps to keep such unsprung parts in position for such vibrating environment. Thanks again for recommending SS, will definitely try that.

@@thesportztourer Not true buddy. I am auto technician and split washers have been experimentally proven to be ineffective locking devices and can even aid self-loosening over time. I recommend you google " Gerhard Junker" who published some of his lab experiments about the ineffectiveness of split ring washers from yesteryears. Just use a nyloc nut instead and you also get them in SS.

WOW! I had same issue when I was travelling for around 400 Kms from Chennai to Tanjore few days ago. I lost back plate and bolt when I was riding. It started giving me chain noise and felt like wheel started to wobble in speed breakers. I had to get it fixed in TVS showroom at the last as I don't find any other local mechanic have these accessories. I returned back to Chennai next day and gave my official compliant at TVS room. Last service was done exactly 2 weeks ago and I just completed around 500 kms. How it's possible it became loose and fall out while riding. Shared my concerns but no proper response. What I realised is like next time I have to highlight all parts twice to service guys and ensure its serviced properly before I go for long drive with my RTR200 4V.

Did you upsize your 130/70 R17 tyre.? If we can upsize what's the recommended size.? Since I own a Bs6 model with Dual channel ABS, I'm confused whether upsize tyre might impact on ABS calibration.?!
@quadrannilator
@quadrannilator 3 жыл бұрын
If the final Outer Circumference of the tyre doesn't change by more than 3% relative to the original, it shouldn't be a problem. You will have to calculate it as per the new section ratio and diameter. I have a slightly bigger front tyre vs. stock size because that was the only one available in the Apollo Alpha series, but since I calculated it previously, it didn't result in abs miscalibration. Take care of the fitment of a different section over the same rim, as it will impact ride quality, air pressure integrity and side wall performance.
