Great interview Gary - don’t necessarily agree with the interviewers comments on relevance. Mid and long-form content is as strong as it’s always been. In fact, it’s become even more relevant, competing with the likes of Netflix on big TV screens. Sure, Casey Neistat style vlogs perhaps don’t exist at the same level as they once did but there are loads of long-form content creators who are crushing it

The last idea was very interesting and I think Gary is on to something. There is so much misinformation out there, one of the biggest ones I’ve noticed is basically anything with Mr.Beast or Elon Musk in the title. There is so much garbage out there trying to capitalize on someone else’s name that they will make insane claims using that persons name to get clicks. Imagine if video cameras started coming with advanced forms of tagging. Smartphones would be the easiest although getting apple on board to use an open standard would be difficult. However imagine if you film an eating vlog at a restaurant, and the software automatically blurred faces, and instead of getting written consent or filming them giving their consent, you simply asked them for consent and they give it to you by holding their phone next to yours, and it automatically unblurs that face (phone could probably use passive gps/accelerometer data in conjunction with facial recognition to get a better idea of where the person appears in the video and which face needs to be unblurred. When doing that NFC consent transfer the phone would automatically connect their social media accounts to that content, so when the video is posted the metadata of the video uses an NFT to authenticate source, and then automatically links that person’s socials in the description, and I’m sure as this tech improves they could use the same face blur/unblur data to make it so viewers don’t even have to go to the description for a social media link, it could just pop up like how Google Videos automatically have trivia and cast members, or viewers could just click directly on the person in the video to get a link to their socials. Then once all of this tech is working, people could search directly for a social account and see every piece of media that person has ever consented to being in. Or it could even be a feature in youtube where in addition to subscribing to channels, people could subscribe to individual people and be exposed to any piece of media that person appears in willingly, and avoid all of the spam accounts and impersonators.

This was the best interview seen on this channel as a longtime viewer. I felt a true dialog and challenge without Gary normally cutting off people every sentence and watching the clock. The tone, dialog and fair questions by both was just fire❤🙌🫶
