My dad always cheated on my mother. He was a "serial cheater." My mother was beautiful - movie star beautiful, but she was s/ assaulted when she was a teenager. From some of the things she said to me, she didn't want to see a therapist about it or deal with how she felt about men. My dad didn't want to go to couples counseling, either. That's a recipe for disaster. I think he wanted something better, but he loved my mother, too & wouldn't divorce her. There really seemed to be no solution to their problem except counseling & my mother wouldn't go.

He wanted better? Sounds like your mom was already top notch. Perhaps he felt he's not good enough for her. He slept around with lesser women to compensate. Not lesser as fewer but lesser than your mom in value.

I hope this is your adult self speaking because i'd be a shame if you had this much insight as a child. I really think parents f kids up when they share their marital problems w/ kids. Kids should be preotected from that. I was a teenager before I put pieces together, my parents sheltered me from their addiction, infidelity and flaws, generally. I think the reason I'm a confident adult is because as a kid while my self-image was forming, I believed I was from a functional home, and I was just as normal as anyone else.

Sounds like he was a narcissistic abuser who gaslit your poor mother and convinced you to believe she was the problem. Did you not realize in this whole thing you didnt once say she did anything wrong yet pointed out your dad was a serial cheater? Should be a wake up call . Your mother deserves that much.

I have learned that when it comes to cheating, whether it is the man or a woman who is the cheater, that they are doing it not because their spouse or romantic partner is lacking in the relation ship in any way, the person who is the cheater is the one who is lacking in the relationship. And the truth is that the cheater will never find what they are looking for as long as they continue to chase a fantasy instead of facing the reality of their lives.

@gl3913
@gl3913 2 жыл бұрын
@@BuckingHorse-Bull In some relationships, cheating does occur from both sides of the relationship. However, that situation does not happen in every relationship where cheating takes place either. No good comes from cheatingwhether one partner is doing it or both are doing it. And, a new relationship that is born from a situation of cheating has a very high chance of not only being unstable, but failing within six months from the start of the situation.

When he was out he was trying on MANY per of shoes to avoid committing with the mother of his children and having the family and love he never had growing up. I didn't understand why he would keep as you say savatage somthing that he claims he wanted so much. So many times I wanted to just give up trying to help him but God wouldn't let me. So pretty everything you spoke about is him all in one! BLESSINGS TO YOU for sharing your knowledge and helping these people gain some clarity including me!

Yooooo!!! What’s up Gates, So I’ve always related to your music when you drop something dope but, it would only last for a season and it kind of fade with that season because as you know life is in a constant state of changing. But Man this knew evolution Gates I’ve been listening to you and Dreka all year and I mean really like hungry to know more about you guys testimony and strength. Last week I can remember standing talking to myself like, I want to ask y’all so many questions about the strength it takes to go through ups and downs, highs and lows yet, still making a decision to stay solid no matter what. So today I’m listing your quotes and BOOM!! There you were talking calls from people and giving them the best advice that folks pay millions of dollars for when all they have to to is associate themselves with folk that hold them accountable. I believe what your doing is going to create some forces to stop generational curses. I want to call in to ask a question about my current situation with my fiancé and this this struggle we’ve been on. Is there a such thing as being to loyal and forgiving to someone to the point they start having an expectation or knowingness that your not going anywhere. Do you think that’s enabling someone and giving them the knife to stab you with? Why do women like me and your wife have to go through great pain and betrayal before men realize we solid and heaven sent. What made you finally see your wife 😅for what she already seen and made her mind up about when it came to her family and life with you?

Absence makes the heart grow fonder is an old truism that works. Limit your availability and make sure that when you meet it is quality time or a memorable occurrence. The rest will take care of itself. Hopefully, you are busy enough with your own projects to avoid endless hangouts.I'll say this-a part of the reason why a lot of us struggle so much in relationships is because of the "idgaf who hurt you" mentality that far too many of us have. As much as we don't, we should. Both men and women should. Lord, have mercy. Apathy is gonna be the death of intimacy for a lot of folks out here

The level of ignorance and lack of accountability is screaming. Instead of telling this young man this is a lesson in treating people properly in the next relationship. They pretty much told him, he is young and will find better. That her rejection of him was his blessing to find better. Wow idiots

Hey Vice. A good story would be on Mad in the UK (like mad in America) and the psychiatry/ psychology social justice revolution. It’s just getting started. With recent societal upheaval a crisis is brewing the magnitude of we haven’t seen yet.
