@melissatodd5602 жыл бұрын
What a creative way to repurpose your fan blades! It's difficult to lose the "recycled" feel to projects that aim to reduce the amount of waste we produce each year. You have managed to produce something which I would be willing to buy new supplies to create the same end product, and it's just genius that I don't have to - you have a new subscriber. Also, I enjoyed how clear and concise your instructions were and you are pleasant to listen to - a win/win. Thank-you!

My thoughts exactly! I was like - wait! wait! How did you hang them on the wall??????????????!!!!!
@mmariemarkel74822 жыл бұрын
IMHO. Hook and loop would work great and make it renter friendly as well. I would go for 75 -100lbs and use two sets of hook and loop top and bottom. Overkill on the weight is far better than underkill, I'm thinking.

Great idea done with a pretty decoupage floral print.🥰🌸🌹🌸
@bigred68152 жыл бұрын
Just beautiful and creative. As a professional picture framing instructor may I suggest that you lower the loop of your hanger about 1.5” so that when your beautiful piece is hanging on the wall you won’t see the nail. You can also attach (with a strong liquid adhesive) a mirror hanger or sawtooth with the ability to hold 15lbs. I would suggest taking your piece to a Professional Picture Framer (PPFA member) for the best advice. Again very creative and beautiful.
@carolcalder77272 жыл бұрын
Beautiful crraft idea. Thank you for sharing. Can you use these to for plant hangers in the house?
@mmariemarkel74822 жыл бұрын
Don't need a professional, we have one now, YOU. Great advice except if using hook and loop (to make this renter friendly) I would err on overkill rather than Underhill on the lbs. you want this to hold. 15lbs isn't gonna be enough for winter garb up North. I would choose 100lbs. for safety sake.
@bigred68152 жыл бұрын
@@mmariemarkel7482 Agreed. The 100 lb mirror hanger will work which could possibly support a back pack. The issue will be screwing the hanger into the back of your piece. The mirror hanger can be mounted on the back with a strong adhesive which can permanently hold a metal hanger to your wooden piece. Just looking at the video I would suggest mounting a piece of wood to the back of the fan and then screwing the mirror hanger into the wood so that the screws will not damage the fan blade by breaking through or cracking it. Hanging an object on a wall which will support 100lbs is another consideration as to where your project is hung. Perhaps you should write a disclaimer with your project that objects hung on the fan blade should not exceed 30 lbs. You also need to consider the bottom support piece of the fan and if it can support 100 lbs of stress. My best advise to you would be to take your fan blade piece to a certified professional picture framer (PPFA member) and not a big box hobby/craft type store. Allow a certified framer to examine your piece and offer suggestions. A museum would be an excellent place to start. They usually have framing specialist who are trained in mounting and displaying heavy objects like guns, military garments and sports memorabilia. These professional framers have a working knowledge of the latest techniques and they love a challenge. Feel free to contact me I will help anyway I can.
