Have you ever wondered what it takes to capture images for National Geographic? I had the opportunity to ask our friend Bob Holmes just that and what his approach is to making images that are worthy of National Geographic. In Bob's wonderful style he rolled out his tips for "accepting" images that you truly love. As Bob said, "That’s what I’m always striving for."

Very good. I love the insight shared here. We as photographers are responsible for what is in the frame. What a great point and you cant stress this enough. Get out There an shoot till it's automatic both for adjusting camera setting and finding compositions.

It is a pleasure to have a flavour of the behind the scenes of a NG Professional photographer. Useful tips for most of us that are not professional photographers to improve the way we photograph.

It's a really nice insight to have. It's very rare to see into the workings of documentary photographers so thank you for the video. We've just started up our own photography channel to help out our online course students. If you've got a couple of minutes we'd love it if an experienced hand such as yourself could check us out, not expecting you to watch all the vids. It's just nice to touch base with great creators and hopefully catch up with you soon! Have a great day :-) (Stephen)

An amazing photographer, stunning images, and some very valuable lessons. If I may interject, however, I´d propose that he´s (or maybe it was the editor) is leaving out two of the absolute main principles in documentary/opportunistic photography, which are A) shooting a shit-load of rapid-fire photos and then simply pick the "right" one, and B) cropping; i.e. shooting wide with super high-res setting/equipment, and then take care of composition - i.e. zoom in or out, move things around. etc. - behind the desk. These two "tricks" are VERY valuable to know for any beginner photographer; in other words, anyone who would benefit from an "instructional" video such as this one. Just my two cents.
