It's good to see you're posting to KZbin now. For those who haven't seen; Eric's work is really top-notch in person as well. He doesn't sacrifice on workmanship.

That’s really nice of you to say! I appreciate the kind words. Truth is, craftsmanship takes time and there’s no substitute. We do try and make the finest furniture that we can with the resources we have.

As an antique wood "player" .... at 85 ... I am finding enormous joy in my meager shop. Ancient equipment, a universe from the Girzzly level stuff ... BUT. My projects of happiness are boxes-- keepsake /jewelry, 1 or 2 drawers, with top tray. Anyway ... have for several years wanted sooo much to create hidden lock joints for the drawers and trays ... and have just spent maybe two weeks ..... again .... attempting to "automate" the process for fitting and assembling hidden lock joints. Had old friend from half a century ago .. who did the damndest box/drawer lock joints that were sooo impressive. And I have been trying for several years to duplicate his drawer/box corner joints. I can do them but generally takes days to produce a single drawer ... I just do NOT understand what is so hard about it. But it defeats me. I came to your video hoping to learn ... but lordy .... you go through it blazingly fast ... and you're done in minutes ... seconds in critical portions ... and I'm sitting here ... whaaaaattt???? LOL ... I CAN create the joints, but often, each is like "one-of" and aren't as clean and professional as i'd like. So admire your skill, your shop ... and energy. Just wish I could learn to do it ... really simple, very simple task ... but I just can't see it 'the magic' ... with the comfort, flow, and proficiency you demonstate. Just don't get old!!!!!!!!! LOL Great work ... and nice info ... ! Oh ... my shop is with a sixties vintage cast iron, Craftsman table saw, Jet band saw ... and Dewalt 735 .. and the other usual stuff, all of which is capable of greater precision than I am. Sooo I'm satfsfied.... LOL

Sounds like you need a miter lock router bit, and a dedicated router table with a fence. Mind you, you don't need anything fancy, just a basic table. If you are making smaller drawers you can use smaller tools. If you need any other advice, let me know. "Older" tools are often better tools, as they were built to last. However, the features and adjustability can certainly lacking. Seems engineers have figured out how to make a table saw make coffee and iron your laundry, as well as make rips and crosscuts.
