i have a question. If these tests have dormant antibodies which are activated by the correct pathogen what happens if we produce different antibodies for new variants. Would these tests be mute?

This test isnt testing for antibodies, it itself contains antibodies which will bind to the virus if its present. This test doesnt interact with your personal antibodies at all.

How does the control line work? One test listed it as goat anti-mouse antibody - what's it actually looking for?

The control line is used for checking the efficacy of the test. The backbone of the labeled primary antibody comes from mouse. Once the labeled primary antibody flows through the control line, the sencondary antibody on the control line can trap it, and allow the color accumulation. No color accumulation on the control line means no labeled primary antibody flowing through or unsuccessful coupling among the components.

Your label is wrong. it's not Antigen. the animation is about Antibody test.

It is antigen, because the antigen (virus) from the sample is being recognised by the antibodies that are inside the test. It would be antibody, if the antibodies from the sample were recognised and not the antigen (virus).

Current it’s an antigen test. But the control line is wrong.
