My father handed down his leather jacket to me. He bought it back in the 80s. It's an Open Road jacket. Nothing beats it. It's as classic as it gets and it has stood the test of time. Still looks almost brand new

I bought my Schott jacket (tab collar, not the Perfecto) when I bought my first motorcycle over 20 years ago. I love that all of its form follows function, not fashion... and the leather is thick. It's a great jacket; totally worth the price.

I own a Schott Perfecto 118, and it's my favorite jacket. I've had it for just under a year now, after buying it brand new, and it's still a bit stiff, but it's definitely softened up quite a bit since I first bought it. I love it and will wear it for decades before passing it on to my future son, if I ever have one.

I just bought my first Schott (a used 118 from 1990) after wearing cheaply made copy type jackets. I am finally stoked to have the real deal, though I could never afford to buy a new one, this one I got is in close to new condition!

I found a Schott Motorcycle Jacket in my parents' garage. It fit me to a T. But it was just too cool to the point of costume-y. It was from the late 50's. Then, my parents told me that I could have a garage sale and all the money I got would be mine...if I could just do the work. I hung the Schott on a stop sign and somebody bought the jacket for 50 bucks. I was stoked!

The only design flaw is the belt bucket on the front. I saw many removed to avoid scratching the motorcycle tank.

Some models hold the buckle more secure with a hidden snap. Schott will put that snap on any model at your request.

The problem is not that it is not held secure. The problem is that it is on the front so even if it is fastened you can accidentaly scratch the tank when you lean forward. I wear mine with the belt unfastened and tucked to the sides :D

Had one in the 80s. Sold it for a mint. When they finally disappear and are hard to find, they will cost even more. Bought a Chevignon version, even nicer hide. Schott are great but it takes time to wear in certain leathers. One of the best ol school American brands which still do Made in The U.S.

not easy to make, but once bought one can wear (and tear) it for life... i remember many a night when i was teen it save my life sleeping off drunkenness and rolling over god knows what from gravel to glass, also you can sit anywhere, just put your jacket down and you have a comfy cushion... and it can be worn all year around, even in summer nights... ah those were the days...

The smaller assemblies use different machines that at set up for the number of thicknesses sewn. It looks as if one seamstress assembles the final jacket and this is the best method of quality control, since she will take much more pride in her work. I would assume that their are 20 or more people, each producing a small number of garments each, rather than a production line approach. However we don't know whether things are different when the cameras are not running. lol.
