I think that the big problem is just that she is a very extreme character by design. Extreme strengths, extreme weaknesses. Thats how she was for the longest time, and she was considered balanced. The problem is that when they buffed her damage, all of a sudden her already extreme strengths became borderline insane, and her extreme weaknesses arent even that bad anymore. She deals stupid damage at a distance (which is fine, since thats literally what shes supposed to do), but now also deals really good damage in mid range, meaning that she beats most mid range brawlers in their effective range. She doesnt deal the most damage in close range, but that hardly matters considering how if you get anywhere near her, she will slow you, knock you back, and then put you back in mid range anyway. She still has extreme strengths, but no longer has extreme weaknesses anymore. This isnt to say she has NO weaknesses, but theyre not nearly as big or exploitable as they should be to balance out her big strengths. Thats what makes her feel so oppressive and absurd to play against. To add on to this, her kit basically has an answer to everything. Fighting tanks or assassins? Pick Auto Aimer + Snappy Sniping with the extra gadget gear, and they physically cant touch you. Fighting other snipers? Pick Homemade Recipe and now all you have to do is land one shot and then press the funny green button for a free kill.

The thing that makes the "Piper is no skill anymore" such an unpopular take is because there is no mechanical changes to Piper. Fang became unskilled because his hypercharge mechanically changed him into having no weaknesses. Before the introduction of his hypercharge, you have to be very careful with how you use your super. This is because his super can get stuck on a wall that is in the way or make you land on a dangerous brawler you did not intend to hit. With his hypercharge and super charge buff, he can ignore walls and ignore the power of the brawler since you can get his super insanely quickly. In comparison Piper got a stat change, Piper only got a damage buff that made her busted. There is nothing inherently wrong with her gadgets or star powers, she just has too much damage because of her overtuned gadget. I mean people never really considered autoaimer broken before her damage buff.

Most long range brawlers usually didn't have any type of knockback for a reason as it leads to not only push enemys back but also to extra damage and super charge, this is because you can always get a free hit whenever an enemy gets caught up in the knockback This is also why only close range brawlers had knockback as it helps them overcome their main weakness and thats the fact that even if they get in the enemys range they are always force to take damage, a character like piper has no reason to have acces to a quick type of knockback as she can already deal her full damage from a safe position without trading anything and only being threatened by another long range brawler at that point

It’s just that the damage buff that made her really op, not really the gadget. Plus, I think other snipers have some sort of “defensive” mechanic built into them as well, so again, makes sense.

Brock can rocket-jump away from enemies, but this only gives him an advantage (not his entire team) and allows him to jump in and out of battle. Keep in mind that Brock can’t attack during this time, so he can’t immediately gun them down, and they can either find a way to bag him or can run away. Jacky can move really fast, but you can see it coming. 8-bit can teleport, but only to a stationary turret. But Piper can quickly hit someone, run away, and still be able to get at least 4000 damage off

@@user-jp7dn8nr4f exactly. Her super was only given to her if you hit your shots, and even then only at max range would it charge at a solid rate. It rewarded good Pipers with kills AND an escape button. Bad pipers would just die without doing a thing. The other downside to her super is that it could potentially destroy terrain important to you team, and might force you into a weird spot. All of that, and the assassin was still alive, and still likely in position to help kill your team from behind. This green button removes all of the nuance and planning and trade-offs that could have happened. It just gives you a free kill.

I think the only problem with her is she deals way more damage up close than she should. Complaining about the super, gadgets and star powers just now makes no sense since it's been like that for years, in fact her super is the same since her release which was before the game was even global. Imo a nerf for the range her damage scales would be a reasonable nerf, she's just well rounded as a sniper having tools to beat assassins. Even hard-counters shouldn't be able to kill you while you do nothing about it. Not like she's even unstoppable, these days there are brawlers like Cordelius who just stops her super and gadget, Edgar with his hypercharge being able to jump twice even if the Piper gadgets, Kit just jumps on top of her so the gadget knockback isn't enough, though a super can stop it, Melodie with 3 supers, Mico being simply invulnerable (much bigger of a problem than a sniper having close range but nobody complains somehow), countering Fang requires skill since her gadget doesn't cancel his super. Plus, mentioning power levels going from 5% to 10% makes no sense, the brawler's hp also went up 5% and became 10% so nothing really changed

Nerfing minimum range also nerfs all the other ranges (except max). When you nerf minimum it makes it so when you hit someone from a range you can typically kill a tick in 1 shot, now you need to move even closer as the ramping is more severe which is actually a bad thing. If the minimum was 1 less than the max, then the ramping would basically be non existent which would be a major buff.

I think that Piper does need a nerf at close range, but she's really overhated The thing that confuses me the most is how a gadget that makes her able to survive for longer is more hated than a gadget that literally does the aiming for her I think the only things that need to be done to that gadget is make it so it deals no damage and make it stop working with snappy sniping (also make it insta kill Edgar)

She got a 200 damage buff, that's really not as crazy as Edgar charging his hyper with his super, or Fang team wiping with hyper, or tick deleting everybody with mutation and hyper. You just can't play around her. Look at it this way: You are playing Edgar against Piper, it's only you two left, and the storm is closing in. You wait and hide behind something until the storm is small enough were even with her gadget the knockback is nothing as Piper can't escape into the storm. Then you just kill her. If she has her super than you can't complain as that hasn't gotten single buff in like 5 years.

How I’d nerf Piper: 1. Reduce her minimum range damage from 888 to 688 2. Remove the slow effect from her gadget 3. Remove the ability to recharge ammo with Auto Aimer using Snappy Sniping 4. Nerf Snappy Sniping from 0.4 ammo/hit to 0.3 or 0.25 ammo/hit

max damage shouldn't be nerfed, but each tile you get closer should remove 10% of your damage, yes do fucking 1 damage in close and 1700 on half of range insted of 2,3k, also gadget should give only slow and dont refill (starpower) ammo, also SP shouldnt work on non-brawlers. And trust it don't gonna be like Kit after nerf (F tier) it gonna be decent, but not broken

@@Yami_303 she has fastest projectile speed out of all marskmans, her shots are not hard to land, her gadet is completely auto aim , never missses and allows you to reward you with whooping 2000+ damage for spamming auto aim, she can escape any attack with one click (her super) she charges her ult only in 3 hits, her basic attack does more damage than most of ultimates, and she can two shot over half of existing rooster as said, how can you even say someone who does whooping 3400 damage with basic takes skill?

This video has nothing to do with it's title it should be named "Piper brawler review". There is no answer to the question in the title and no story of Piper becoming OP, and the point about increasing stats from 5% to 10% is stupid and meaningless because everyone got HP buff as well. This community is an absolute clown world, it's been 5 years since Piper was added, she remained almost unchanged, but as soon as she got a reasonable attack damage buff and a good map pool she turned from "skill" to "unskill" immediently, although practicaly nothing has changed. Oh, and Nani still counters her and it's very easy to counter her tbh. I'm not even a Piper main to complain about it, this video is just not true.
