After suffering a stroke at 18, it's a miracle that he lived to be 77.
Only good memories as my GP...when i told him how upset i was with my husband's COPD diagnosis, he gave me a Big Hug❤

Dr. McDougall's generosity has been epic.. I remember Dr. McDougall saying in one of his talks that no one talks about death where all the organs shut down at one time. I have worked with elder care for a couple of decades and it is not so easy to get out of the body.There is no perfect age to die as we have to leave loved ones behind, but what a gift showing them how to live their fullest healthiest life and to die peacefully in their sleep.

Because you shared your stroke story years ago when my 15 year old was having a stroke
@virginiatozier995710 ай бұрын
Woops ,let me finish. When my 15 year old grandson was having a stroke I didn't dismiss it and got him to the emergency room. I also didn't let the EM docs dismiss it because he was too young for a stroke and was messing with drugs. They believed me because I cited your stroke at 18 did a scan and ambulanced him to a bigger hospital

He was in for 2 weeks. They said overexertion had caused his CMT to overload his nervous system and caused the stroke. They said males with CMT are more prone to this. In any case thankyou Doc and thankyou Mary. Ps I was letting dairy slip back in to my diet until your talk on cateracts. Thanks again.

The good news is if you follow a proper diet that you will get well,look better,and feel better. Many things you may not be able to change about yourself,like what you like or don't like in people. You will find out how your brain is wired,and the main thing is to be happy with yourself,not to be ashamed. Life is an opportunirty to live to the fullest,not about money as much as what it takes to survive. As many understand or many never had to deal with it is oneliness,it is hardest thing people will have to go through,and those who turned to addictions understand that well!If it's you just go through it but you will have better days and you will eventually get better,some things you can not change about yourself,maybe you will start feeling better and you'll start to trust more,and have more friends or maybe not but atleast you can be in better health. Whatever life you have lived or are living like Doc says,you can make life is a little more easier on yourself,be a a little happier and you get to do the things you've always wanted to do or never imagined doing.

I, too, had a stroke just before I turned 18. However, I know what CAUSED the stroke. That's made me sceptical my entire life. Doc, do you know what caused your stroke?

Good interview. It ain't the food though, Dr. John. People eat all sorts of garbage - look around the world - one man's trash is another man's treasure - and can be extremely healthy. In this direction, it is more important what you think about what you eat than what you eat. Dr. Bob. People thinking good things about their doctor is invaluable.

Actually there's guys his age scooting around,and they move like molasses. The arthritus gets so bad,they barely can move. How do you when look and feel when you are his age? Getting old stinks.expecially when you aint got no one by your side as a companion.

He looks and sounds brilliant at 76 and he's slim and fit. What more do you want? Many his age are in care homes! Yet he had a devastating stroke at 18 and not only is still alive almost 60 years later but has maintained excellent health and has had no further strokes after changing his diet. Big lesson there.
