Its good that you describe it as a voltage controlled device, because there is a lot of false info that claims that BJT is a current controlled device just because the typical base current is larger than a gate current in FET, they are both only a leakage currents.

Can it be thought of as (N)egative (P)ositive (N)egative for an N-P-N and, (P)ositive (N)egative (P)ositive for a P-N-P transistor? In an NPN the Emitter is always connected to ground? In PNP the Collector is always connected to ground?

Also important to know. If a transistor is designed for 30 volts and you exceed this voltage at the collector-emitter path, the transistor will also conduct without base current. There are also transistors for higher voltages.

You have it wrong in the video...AMD doesn't make any transistors or lithography, they just design the processors... It is TSMC who is developing and providing the lithography and making the processors for AMD...
