All of this logical stuff makes sense to my mind but I still feel down after being rejected. I guess rejection is something I need to cope with in general.

I love this message. I think a lot of actors struggle with negative feelings, rejection, feeling like we're making the wrong choice's) in life and in our acting. But this puts it all in perspective. Do what you love to do, and do it passionately. Focus on every single day, focus on the journey, not the destination, nor the end result. Those things are not in our hands, so best to enjoy the process. Only then can you keep on doing this.

Your advice is absolutely spot on! Not only does this apply to actors, but life in general. I can recall some of my managers and myself telling my staff "don't take it personally." If it's within your control to alter the outcome, then by all means do it, if not let it roll, there are so many other opportunities.

Thank you so much for this perspective, I loved this so much. I've never auditioned for film (yet) but I have done some mental reflection around what is and isn't in my control, and just because someone isn't cast doesn't necessarily mean they did anything wrong or weren't good enough. But the making, keeping, or losing a fan is such a good point that never even occurred to me.

Rejection goes for all actors rather in musical theater, television, plays, etc… I want you guys to know it’s a completely normal part of the process but don’t let that stop you from achieving your dream as an actor.

Hello, I am currently a 15 year old living in the Midwest. I have genuinely considered eventually becoming an actor for the past few years. I was wondering if you have any advice on how to procede.
