I always like the theory that, similarly to Aegon, Aerys had visions of the white walkers that drove him to madness and him screaming “burn them all” during the sack of Kings Landing was him either seeing everyone already as white walkers or him seeing their fate if their bodies weren’t burned
@krishan8735 Жыл бұрын
There's a theory that ties into that, that these visions were sent by Bloodraven, in an attempt to warn the king of the others. But rather then warning him, it drove him even more mad, potentially being the reason he became obsessed with burning people alive, hence why Bloodraven is now so opposed to screwing with time now.

A wonderful theory and I love it, but I believe the fact the king was kidnapped and tortured for months made him mad
@krishan8735 Жыл бұрын
@@stinkypoops56 I believe it was a mixture of both. His kidnapping definitely put his stewing paranoia and other such madness to an all time height. It was this, as well as his overall wretched nature, that made him the mad King, that made him cruel and crazy. But BloodRavens visions, if we are to believe that he sent them, are what sparked his interest in fire and burning people. It's entirely in line for BloodRaven to choose a poor way/time to give this information to Aerys (remember he gives Bran magic by flinging him from a giant tree and forcing him to fly or die in order to wake his magic), and BloodRaven is vehemently against manipulating time and other such events, which is the kicker for me. Because I can believe that Aerys was just, a straight up mad psychopath, but BloodRaven is hardcore against screwing with time. It stands to reason that he'd only have such strong and strict precautions if he'd previously screwed with time and caused something bad to happen unwittingly, and the whole idea of white walker warnings is pretty much a perfect fit for such, in terms of cause (BloodRaven would want the king to support the wall for the coming war) and effect (Aerys, who was already mad, unstable and evil, rather out of nowhere, gets obsessed with the idea of burning people, which happens to be the perfect way to stop the army of the dead).

The fact that Daenerys has the same issue Maegor and Arys experienced shows it’s their blood and not necessarily the incest that leads to dragon looking children. Because only one of Aegon’s kids really fostered his blood line onward we could assume the genetics after Jaehaerys got worse even with the occasional outside marriage. Aside from the king who created the blackfyre bloodline most Targaryen’s had a few children that loved into adulthood and some of those deaths are questionable at times

The miscarriages played an important role in Aerys descent because of the pressure that was put on him. The thing was that after the Tragedy at Summerhall and the death of his father Aerys and Rhaella were the only Targaryens left and as such the future of their dynasty and family rested on their shoulders, if the two failed to produce more children then their family would end with them, not in rebellion or war but fade away with age like autumn leaves. So there was a lot of pressure on Aerys and even thought he had Rhaegar he didn't trust him and to keep the family line secure there needed to be more then just one descendant, every failed birth from Rhaella made him think he was one step closer to dooming their dynasty.

The lannister sacking of kings landing and all the events in the red keep prior to that. The. The baffle of the trident/tower of joy. Confirms my theory: Tyrion is for sure a Targuerian son of Mad king with Tywins wife. There are many quotes through the series to gove tips about this like the talk between the Viper Martell and Tyrion at the cell when he says "they kept you hidden from everyone for months, saying that you had a tail and claws ( like a dragon )" Some targueryan children Born like dragons, like the son Daenerys lost the witch told her "he was like a creature with tails and claws", 2- Tywin before die trys to say the truth to Tyrion but he dont listen "You are not my son" and got shoot before explain while tyrion simply says "yes i am", 3-Dragons allowed tyrion get close when they were locked at the piramids, 4-Death of women while giving birth to targuerian is something common like Jons birth ( Jon mother died from birth too because she give birth to a targueryan ) , Daenerys mother died in her birth too, and then Tyrion mother. Theres more but the fact is, Tyrion is targuerian. makes sense? the only reason Tywin kept him alive was to hide the shame from everyone. He did it for keep the family moral. Theres the idea that Tyrion wasent feed while a baby, thats why he became small, because dragons got small when they are not feed, they said that many times through the series. So let me get this straight. Dany decides to go out amongst the sick in book 5, and help them with her own hands even though all her advisers want to bar the gates and refuse to help since they have no medicine and no food and they're about to get invaded. But it totally makes sense that she would be cool with burning innocent ppl for the fun of it? Let's not forget that 1) the mad king was a jackass to begin with and 2) theres a good chance that his obsession with wild fire occurred because the three eyed raven tried to warn him of the white walkers. Nope. Dany going ape shit didnt make sense. But when John pulls it's a sword in her heart in the books, it'll be for one reason only, lightbringer. D&D did not care about the show or the fans and put minimal effort in making the last 2 seasons. Deal with it.

interesting thought, thinking it through i think if the fire-god showed the king>mad king these images knowing it would drive him insane in the end to set in motions/events/reactions after his death, in hindsight the obvious one would be Jamie's change of character bearing the label kingslayer while silently knowing the action saved millions of lives in Kingslanding and how that experience influenced his behavior, look on life how it all contributed to him riding North alone, his connection with Brianne and respect for her as a knight with honor. All to put the right characters in the correct position to improve the odds of winning against the night king.

Edgy Edgelord McEdgerson but it would still be very interesting, To say the least. Tyrion not being a Lannister but in turn being a Targaryen would add a lot to the story in my opinion; and would make the backstory of Aerys and Jo even better. Just because jon incidentally was an unknown Targaryen doesn’t make that plot line redundant seeing as in those times, men were with multiple women all the time. My theory is that the mad king was warged into by Bran. I suspected this after hodor’s origin came to light. The mad king kept saying, ‘burn them all’. I feel like Bran was trying to do something with the king but instead accidentally repeated his mistake, making the mad king who he was. The burn them all idea for me is someone referring to the white walkers and Bran unfortunately wraps this idea into the mad king. Only in the books though, tv show is nearly over 😂
@anatoldenevers2372 жыл бұрын
This theory doesn't work for the books though, because Aerys wasn't just repeating "burn them all" over and over. He said a lot of things before he died, he ordered Jaime to go kill Tywin to prove he wasn't a traitor, and his lasts words was asking Jaime who's blood was on his sword when Jaime came storming into the throne room after killing the chief pyromancer. I also just don't like the "everything is Bran's fault" theories.

This would’ve been amazing to see. Everyone loves Ned, so the series would’ve been amazing. Would love to see Tyrion really be the mad kings son, and when Daenerys tries to burn him he doesn’t burn. Jon kills her to save the people. Tyrion takes the throne and John goes back north to be with the free folk. Sansa and Tyrion reunite as husband and wife and she becomes queen. Arya gets knighted by Brienne and becomes the kings guard. D &D are too stupid to write anything like that though.

You wretch...that would be the Ultimate insult to Dany! You do realize right that Jon is only alive Right now because Dany has personally saved his life Three times Now?! 1st When she allowed him to mine dragon glass from dragon stone which gave much needed weapons to the soldiers of the North, 2nd when she flew out beyond the wall at Jon's request for help, saved him and company and lost Viseron to NK, waited for Jon to catch up at the wall despite urging to leave from Jorah and others who said Jon was already lost to them after he fell in the frozen water with those wrights, and 3rd when she flew down and burned all the dead that were ambushing Jon during the battle right after the NK raised everybody up again! And that's to say Nothing about everything she lost to save the NOrth! Rhaegal becoming wounded and thus an easy target for Euron after Rhaegal was wounded in the fight with undead Viseron, she lost over half her army which caused her to arrive home to Dragonstone with a smaller force, making them Again easy pickings of Euron to attack, which Then led to her Best Bestie of friends Missandei who was subsequently captur and murdered Right in front of her, After Daenerys had listened to tyrion One Last time and tried to reason with Cersei to surrender peacefully! And to top is all, Dany get barely Any thanks at all for saving the North as apparently her only thanks was to get Sansa plotting to low-key dethrone her! That would be the Height of ungratefulness and Jon would need to Die then

I just don't think that is likely as Tyrion really has a very similar personality to Tywin. That is the main cause of friction between them, Tyrion really does have everything that Tywin wanted in a son and that's why Tywin can't stand him.

15 minutes to detail Aerys' descent into becoming the Mad King. That's a character arc with all the motivation spread over years as he became increasingly paranoid and unstable. The same video for Daenerys would take about a minute: Grows up in exile. Brother is mean. Arranged marriage. Gifted dragons. Roams Essos liberating the downtrodden. Everyone loves her. Heads to Westeros. Gets destracted by Ice zombies and banging her nephew. Loses 2 dragons and some allies. Thinks 'fuck it, I'm mad queen now.' Burns the downtrodden, becomes queen of the ashes and wonders why nobody loves her anymore.

Jaeharys II other Brother Daeron who died at Summerhall was the Prince Olenna Tyrrell spoke about in the Show. He had 2 Daughter's a Girl Called Shaera (Jaeharys sister wife) and finally Rhaella Targaryen who was Married of to Roberts Bartheon's Grandfather. Giving Robert a Claim to years Later. There was Also a few other Targaryens Around: Named Vaella ''The simple'' and Maegor. Maegor should have been King but after a Great Council was convened to resolve the political chaos they picked his Uncle Aegon 5th and first to Aemon which he refused since he was a maester and had fatih in his Younger brother. since Maegor was surpassed as king (his father died months after he was born from driking wilfire...) They feared he might be as mad as his father so they after alot of debate picked his uncle and passing over his older sister from his dead older uncle than Arrion, Daeron ''the drunken'' Fun Fact Steffon Bartheon (Roberts Father) and king Aerys II were Cousin's making him and Rhaegar first cousins.
