Today, we honor Kofi Annan, the United Nations' seventh Secretary-General and a true advocate for global harmony. Antonio Guterres, current Secretary-General of the United Nations, recalls Annan as a "guiding force for good" and a "proud son of Africa." His legacy inspires us to champion dialogue, understanding, and progress. Kofi Annan’s portrait, a gift from the Islamic Republic of Iran🇮🇷, stands as a symbol of his enduring impact in the General Assembly lobby.

Remember? Why exactly? Because it hasn't happened in the last *months* since people started talking about it for real? KEY ISSUES FOR THE 2023 BRICS SUMMIT The 15th BRICS summit 2023 in South Africa ended with the admission of 6 new countries, including two from Africa (Ethiopia and Egypt). In addition to the enlargement of the organization, this meeting had several other issues at stake: - Overhauling the system of global governance. The BRICS want to offer a financial alternative to the Bretton Woods institutions, such as the World Bank and IMF, and have created the new BRICS Development Bank. - The creation of a $100 billion fund to provide development aid to countries that so desire.
@China-129
@China-129 Жыл бұрын
- The creation of a new currency, pegged to gold or to a basket of currencies from the five countries. - The de-dollarization of the global economy. The BRICS also want to tackle the issue of de-dollarization, by trying to convince several countries to leave the dollar as their international transaction currency. - Expanding the BRICS: Many countries have applied to join the BRICS, or have expressed an interest in doing so. Current member countries will need to clarify conditions and define protocols for integrating new members or developing strategic partnerships.

I seriously don't understand why AI needs to do art so badly. It's the only thing expressing the essence of humanity, that wasn't meant to be replicated by a machine. The human expression isn't found in slinging around Amazon boxes for minimum wage, something a robot should be doing. No, we have to force the robots doing art. One day you'll see how boring and dystopian it's going to be, if art, creation and storytelling is only made by artificial intelligence. It's already too late.

@@bluesailormercuryif you're forcing a program to stitch together images to make some franken-painting, then you're not expressing yourself. Plus there are more than just physical mediums for art. Spoken word and writing can be art, so if you can't physically play music, paint, sculpt, etc. there are ways to express yourself artistically that don't involve taking the lazy route and forcing a program to create something for you. If you can't understand that, or if you don't understand how sacred art is to humanity, then I highly doubt you're even real.

He noted that a borderless East African Community (EAC) will foster free movement of goods and services, thereby unlocking the bloc’s economic potential. Worked at Deloitte for good 5 years had good relations with fellow co-workers & superiors and most importantly good performance record, but at the end of the day still got layed off in the month of May-2023, citing lacks of projects as the major reason. When in reality i know these companies are deliberately downsizing their human workforce, so they can train AI models on the tasks with much fewer and fewer people to check the AI's work. Honestly the Age of AI has only brought more doom and gloom for the common man. Alot more tech layoffs are on the way, the Faang companies have drastically reduced overall hiring, some have actually stopped new hiring altogether. AI Art will never be comparable to that of a human. AI cannot be intentional and can‘t hold sentiments. All sentimental value is solely held by the viewers instead of the AI creator. On top of that, AI cannot breakthrough on its own. It‘s reliant on data, whether ethically or unethically sourced. AI can only create within the scope it was given, which humans are not limited by. This is why AI can never be as smart as a human. No matter how much AI art is pushed, it‘s a tool, which people due to the nature of the human are going to misuse more than bring positive change. It‘s really important to be distinctive between the machine that is AI and the human behind it because it‘s all the human’s doing. It‘s why you see AI in general being discriminatory and in my opinion, Refik‘s vision to create memories of the whole world is just so wrong because it‘s virtually impossible and also demeaning to merge cultures and expriences into one machine for it to create images.

👩🏼‍🎓🇮🇩 "No country, however powerful it may be, is entitled to act outside the United Nations. The United Nations was established in order that countries, irrespective of the continent from which they come, should act through an organised and disciplined body. The United Nations is here to promote peace in the world and any country that acts outside the United Nations is making a serious mistake." ~Nelson Mandela during a press conference, Jakarta, Indonesia, 30 September 2002
