You all should come to Trinidad. We've got them like crazy and its so common that we don't even acknowledge it. We just refer to them as "wild pine". You can see them on electricity poles/wires, fences, mango trees...the list goes on. The variety is crazy

I have a hard time keeping them alive, its a pain to water since i only have one so i just mist it. Its hard for me to tell when to mist though, often i overwater or i forget about the plant and underwater.

How are there enough nutrients in the air? Houseplants need to be repotted about once a year in fresh (nutrient rich) soil and/or fed plant food nutrients regularly. So confused about this!

Can we use NPK for this plant?
@ryanhodin50144 жыл бұрын
Air plants, like any plants, need NPK to grow, so yes, you can use a (very small) dose of fertilizer on them. They're really easy to over-fertilize though. Also, they need epiphyte-specific fertilizer - Something like Miracle Gro has its nitrogen in a form that relies on bacteria in the soil to make it accessible to the plant, but obviously air plants don't have soil bacteria fixing the nitrogen for them.

Great information! But I think you have confused evolution with adaptation. One definition of Evolution is describing the aging process of something. But you are talking about how a species adapts to its surroundings over time. So please stick to the proper definition! The reason I say this is because most people don’t understand that there is more than one definition of “Evolution”! They may confuse the aging definition with the “origin of all things”! Of course, those of us who study logic don’t believe the scientific impossibility that nothing created everything!

I know the KZbin comments section isn’t the typical place to ask for plant advice, but I’m asking nonetheless. I bought a wispy tillandsia caerulea recently and I need some watering advice. All the places that I’ve looked up so far says dunking or misting works. Which one is more effective though?
@hilarylane43103 жыл бұрын
I personally like dunking. All they really need is about a 10min soak once a week; or at least that’s what I found.
