You cannot reason with people whose entire culture and beliefs are antithetical to your own.
@ryam46322 ай бұрын
No, that's not the point. You can reason with anyone who is willing to think and hear you out, even if he initially holds views contrary to your own. What you cannot and should not attempt to do is to appease an agressor - a person or a group that had demonstrated their willingness to kill you. So don't turn the islamist threat into an excuse for xenophobia!
@freedomwriter19952 ай бұрын
@@ryam4632 I'm not saying that we shouldn't try to reason with them if they are genuinely willing to listen. The problem is that most Islamic extremists don't want to listen. They only want to see you dead.

There is no such thing as xenophobia with regards to Islam. It wants to destroy the west and conquer the planet. This is in its foundational beliefs.

I do think that there is a misunderstanding about the term "love your enemy" from the bible. In my opinion it is to say that you for example do not pass by a dying person, because it is your enemy on a human to human level. Rather you try to represent life and help the person in need. What does not follow from this reasoning is the idea that you should surrender to a person coming at you with a knife, and just accept to get stabbed for example. In those situations you are allowed to defend yourself, and especially your family if those are near. If that means killing is necessary or happens by accident, there is no moral guilt. Neither does the christian position mean that a state , like the US , should empower terrorist enemies to get into power, "because altruism"(?!). That is a disturbed view of christianity and is not at all backed up by the scriptures.

Other than that, I did enjoy the points brought up in the video, and I can see the connection and how it led to where we are now.

According to Ayn Rand A government is not an independent entity.People are responsible for the government they have so there is no such thing as innocent people in war. The only thing to be concerned with is who started that war and once established there is no consideration for the rights of that country because it has initiated the use of force.

A key problem is that the response was not able to eliminate the idea. Russia is having the same problem in Ukraine.
@eviltiki132 ай бұрын
No. Russia is the aggressor towards Ukraine, who only wanted to live in peace independent of Russia‘s authoritarian rule.
@DerykRobosson2 ай бұрын
@@eviltiki13 No mention of the wants of the west to split Russia into tiny pieces. No mention of NATO moving east. No mention of the neo-nazis. No mention of western sanctions against Russia, the act of which is an act of war. Ukraine was subject to a U.S. backed and orchestrated two revolutions, one unsuccessful, the second successful. Crimea and the four Donbas regions voted to become part of, and were accepted into, the Russian Federation. In order to fight their war, western nation states have funneled billions of dollars into the Ukrainian proxy. Russia responded appropriately and have done so with considered measure. As to your claim for "authoritarian rule", you would benefit by considering some of what those in Ukraine is presently experiencing: No freedom of speech, controlled media, people being snatched from the streets and sent to the fronts with minimal training, no freedom of religion (Russian Orthodox in particular), children being indoctrinated to hate, a man ruling them whose power expired but remains in office through ongoing declarations of martial law, expansion of neo-Nazi ideology, denying citizens abroad from receiving state benefits and or support. Tell me how the Russian Federation is the aggressor and the basis for your reasoning.

@@eviltiki13Russia had complained to the United Nations before the war about the biological war labs in Ukraine on its borders. UN did nothing and USA denied the labs existed(a lie) so Putin did exactly what he said he would do and went to war with Ukraine.

Actually the US support of the settler colonial state of Israel has caused great harm to the US, antagonizing the Arab and the Muslim communities. The US likes to say that Israel is its only friend in the Middle East. But before 1948 the US only had friends in the Middle East.
@zardozcys29122 ай бұрын
You cannot really be friends with corrupt dictatorships. If Israel is the only ally in the Middle East it is 1000x more valuable than all the Arab states.
@hyperreal2 ай бұрын
You seem to be completely ignorant of the history of the middle east thats been nothing but useless religious wars and dirt. Those people would be lucky to be colonized by a western country like Israel.
@smater3320002 ай бұрын
Settler states are great. Israel is the only free country in the middle east and no Arab states are. Settler states spread civilization and freedom, like America. Have you even read Ayn Rand?
@albertlevert29882 ай бұрын
A free country that occupies another in an apartheid regime isn’t exactly what I would call progress. America has spread also terror in Vietnam, in organizing the coup against Moussadegh in 1953, in attacking Iraq in 2003 and so many other instances. Frankly there is nothing to boast about. I live in a country with a lively direct democracy which is a much better example of freedom than the US.
