Making sure that people reading comments sees it. Deer isle is at 4.6 version and it is NOT FINISHED. Creator worked hard on this map for 3 years straight without holidays and with donations as compensation only. Map is still in development, but at this moment creator John McLane took a brief break working on map and instead is working on a smaller scale new map. He will be back on developing Deer Isle in near future and have even leaked ideas of what is waiting for us at version 5.0

DayZ is one of those games that's both enjoyable to play (you should try) and especially enjoyable to watch being played. If you've never played DayZ.... well, you're missing out, and, you might not realize that this is technically the "second DayZ", there was a game called (still played) Arma 2 in which there was a mod for it made called DayZ Mod, it was wildly popular, millions of players, the rights to it were bought out from the company (Bohemia Interactive) that made Arma and they decided to make a standalone game out of the Mod, called DayZ Standalone (standalone namesake has been dropped), and that's what you're watching now, DayZ SA. There were also other mods for Arma 2 that took the DayZ thought further, notable mentions would be DayZ Epoch Mod, and the best to ever be created, DayZ Origins Mod (Epoch was then developed further into Arma 3, and Origins is currently being made into it's own standalone game by the same guy who made the mod for Arma 2)....I mention this because you can also look up YT gameplay videos on them too and see the evolution (or devolution lol) of DayZ.

@@matti551 DayZ isn't categorized as a FPS, it's pioneered the Open World Survival genre and "Looter Shooter". Usually (not always) there's both FPP and 3rd person perspective available (Paul likes FPP and that's why you typically never see 3rd person on his channel). There are thousands of different servers you can play on DayZ, everything from plain vanilla DayZ, to RP servers, Stalker based ones(the game series), heavily modded ones with traders and custom weapons, base building additions, everything. It's an open ended, open world survival game, you can do whatever you want. Oh, and plenty of different maps to choose to play on, Chernarus Plus and Livonia being the only "vanilla" maps, this one here showcased is called Deer Island, a custom map made by one guy in his spare time, one of the best, but there are dozens of different ones in different climates (Deer Island actually includes different climates/biomes in one map, only one to do so I believe to this extent )....most maps have different "climates" depending on where you are on the map, the weather at that time, and your altitude, the time of year currently in game (yes it changes), and time of day.

Props to you and your editor, the production values on these videos are through the roof. The music and dynamics you guys add to encounters are some of the best I've seen on KZbin! Do you ever play Hunt Showdown? It has a lot of the same highs and lows, with more focus on guns and PvP. When you were tracking those guys by the line of zombies behind them it really reminded me of Hunt.

The cuts from the ladders annoy me so much haha. Also as an owner of a 338 Lapua I can say that that r700 with a 12 inch barrel would be next to useless. Projectile would be so slow. Takes a 24+ inch barrel to utilize that round. You have as much unburnt powder come out the end as lead.

I played on a server recently called DayZ epoch enhanced its trying to recreate the arma 2 dayZ experience......one of massive most awesome features of this server, is its use dayZ expansion which has a view distance slider in the settings......you can see about 4km around you and players render out to further ranges, its like playing a completely different game its jaw dropping, would love to see increase view distance or a slider in vanilla dayZ.

As an actual gun shooter, you should be using the red dot to find your target, then switch to your magnified optic once your target is sighted. This solves the problem of getting lost between targets when your FOV is smaller from the magnification. That is (likely) the purpose of your red dot presenting itself first

i think the ladder situation needs clearing up all you have to do with ladders is make sure your hand is on the last bar and then press to get off if you keep pushing w you will fall to your doom :)
