@@RykerRydes Your difficulties are the result of not turning the cap far enough. Radiator/coolant tank caps are designed to turn a short distance and become loose, so as to allow any pressure to blow by/ downwards and not up into your face, like an explosion. If you look closely at the video, at just before the 6:00 mark, you'll notice that the cap turned just a bit more allowing it to be removed. Hope this helps.

Thanks for asking. I really liked the tri-bags that SlingMods(?) sell ( www.slingmods.com/canam-ryker-touring-saddlebags-rear-trunk-top-case-luggage-system ), but OMG, I did not want to sell my left nut on Craigslist to afford them, $800 before shipping. So, I bought the three bags (pretty much the same as SlingMods use) on Amazon here www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08JLHXNNR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and here www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DCVZ3DM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . @jkreskey3 жыл бұрын
So, now you have me wondering about the ryker cooling system? Your cooling system is a sealed system like your brake system. Unless you have a leak, you shouldn't have to add that much coolant? The tank that you service in every vehicle is an over flow and unless you have high millage or a blown head gasket you shouldn't see a that much of a change. If your brake tank looks low it means your pads need changing. You don't keep adding fluid. Change the pads and the fluid level goes back to normal. If you continue to add coolant I would suspect a leak in your system. If it is small you may not notice it. I.E. Drips and puddles. FYI
@briankay34143 жыл бұрын
Agreed... why would the fluid be low? Hmmmm
@RykerRydes3 жыл бұрын
hmmm, not sure. There are now leaks on the floor of the garage. Maybe my bike just came that way? I will definitely keep an eye on it. Thank you for such a detailed response.

I read your comment to Beth. Rikers have a little hole in the overflow tank under the cap if you take the cap off You could see the little hole in the plastic. I think at 16 pounds The spring in the cap Compresses and the antifreeze leak out that’s why they lose a little all the time when it’s very hot. Tank is transparent so you really don’t have to open it up to see when it’s low. They should have an overflow for the overflow😂🥴👍🏻

It’s very ‘noble’ of people to preach about OAT coolants but older systems with particular metal components may not be compatible with newer coolants so never just change because you think you’re ‘doing good’. As Beth mentions, check with the engine manufacturer or risk an expensive repair.
@susierebelryder4922 жыл бұрын
In the service manual it says “To prevent antifreeze deterioration, always use the same brand. Never mix different brands unless cooling system is completely flushed and refilled“. Coolant needs to be flushed out and new added. Mixing colored coolant is a bad idea.
