Hi, thank you for watching. As long as you price it correctly, there's no problem getting it rented. Also, if you book high-demand times ahead of time and price it right, which is typically 20% to 30% below whatever they're charging on Marriott.com or whoever you own with a website, you should be good.

Hi thanks for sharing .. we have a point system and 11 days a year free .. we have time share at orange lake resort so I should pull that up and look at the red week ? Can I go through airbnb? With pints and 11 days free .. the cancellation fee there is penalty’s to loosing points and even m in net that you had to reserve .. what would you set as the cancellation that if you don’t cancel before it’s actually a day to cancel now or you get penalized .. so what would you recommend? This is my first time our maintenance fees are very expensive. We own a lot of points because we keep getting sucked into these meetings each time we go somewhere you know how that goes and I think there’s a lot of money to be made but I just don’t know how and where to start could you give me some advice please?

Hi @brendalohman, I have another video On how to rent out your timeshare points. Also, I have the book timeshare tips and tricks you can get on Amazon that goes over the process. Yes the main thing you want to watch is your cancellation policy for the points? So make sure and set your cancellation policy accordingly Which is difficult in the Airbnb because they give more priority to the guests so renting the points can be difficult sometimes. You might want to use Vrbo or you can set your own cancellation policy. We also have rental services at no cost to you where we can rent out the points for you just email us at [e-mail] the number of points or go to our website timesharesimplified.com. You can enter in the number of points and it will give you an estimate how much we can rent it out for you.

Hello, I just invested in my first time share and I have a question. If I am booking the week and then renting it out, (on Airbnb/Vrbo) how do you transfer the week to their name/info?

HI Anna! It depends on what developer you own with. A lot of developers have online systems now where you can add and change names on your reservations yourself online in your own account, some you may have to call in and pay a fee to add a guest name on it. I would recommend checking with your developer first to see what the rules are and how their online owner account works. typically you would just call in and say you have a guest staying on your account and add their name onto the reservation. Again bear in mind that some developers do charge a fee for this so again make sure to check the rules with your developer. Thanks!

im just a little confused with wyndham. because im trying to rent my rci weeks not my points. how can i do that? because if i put it on hold it stays on hold 1 day.. if i select those datesi would be charged and then cancelling late i will be charged a fee...... how would that work with out?? im so confused...

HI Joly! We don't actually recommend renting your RCI weeks for a few different reasons. The first reason is it is against RCI's policies and if they catch you they could cancel your membership with them. Other owners take that risk but it is not a risk that we recommend mainly for this reason. Also the cancellation policy with RCI points is very prohibitive especially for renters as a lot of renters are last minute travelers within 60 days or less of check in. Can I rent out Marriott timeshare that is not my home base?

Hi SANDRA! Only if you do it as points but if you do it as weeks then technically you’re trading into interval international which is not allowed. People do it all the time and you probably would be fine just technically you’re not supposed to as it’s an interval week at that point. But if you’re just using your destination points you could book it at any property. Thanks and let us know if you need anything else Julienne.
