I now saw that you had already created something similar to one of my requests made a little while ago in the new video. 😅Thank you, you are really very good and can give confidence!

Yay!!!! Go Stella and Charlie!!! Congrats!!!! you've both done AMAZING! Charlie is probably the most desensitized bird I know

She was so CUTE napping on the chair❤ If I get birds in the future I'm thinking desensitation outdoors might be a good thing in case the birds for some reason get loose outside so they won't "freak out" as much when they get outside and so they are easier to recall

Yes this aswell! I completely forgot to mention that❤️

I appreciate this channel so much! As someone who is learning as much as possible while saving up to get their first parrot (hopefully Pionus) all the knowledge that you've got to share has been so valuable :) I'd love a harness training video from you if you have the time

Thank you so much Jasper, I'm glad they are helping and this is why I love making them :D You have been heard, so there will definitely be a harness video in the future!

We are in the process of trying to find a Pionus parrot and I love watching your videos with Charlie! What is the treat that you give her while training? I love the desensitization training and I don't know how I never knew of it! We had a cockatiel that would always hang out with us when we were first married. I forgot she was on my shoulder one day and went outside and she flew away! We searched and searched for her, but we were never able to find her.. I could have avoided all of that had I known to do this training! Thank you so much for sharing and helping all bird owners to hopefully avoid those tragic situations!

Aw I'm so sorry about your cockatiel, but I am glad that you find the videos enjoyable :) The treats I give vary, so I'll just put together a bunch of seeds and nuts (cut to a decend size ofc.), but she really likes sunflower and walnuts, while she dosent like Cashew nuts as the only thing atm. But every bird will have different favorties :D Gl on your seach!

Yay another pionus video!! Do you have any videos of her screaming? I have no way of interacting with a pionus before buying and the noise (particularly pitch/sound) is important to me. I know all parrots are loud, but there are some sounds I know I can handle (ex. Macaws) and some I know I cannot (ex. Cockatiels)
@stellaandcharlie Жыл бұрын
Ah I see what u mean :) The unfortunate part is that the pitch is also different from Pionus to Pionus. I have one friend with a Bronze Wing that makes extremely hight pitch noices, while Charlie makes more "macaw" loud noices (more of a sqaurk). If you want, you are more than welcome to write me an email, and then I can send some clips: Stelloandcharlie@gmail.com

Do you have an extra cage when you're on vacation? I mean for the hotel room ?
@stellaandcharlie Жыл бұрын
I use her carrier as a sleeping cage and also as a cage for when we might need to go somewhere we can't bring her (to eat maybe) Other than that I would have her in her harness and take her out as much as possible, but it is only the carrier I bring :)
