I would add that even as a sighted person you should educate others who don't think about these things because they don't know any better. I've learned quite a bit from you and Molly, and not only do I try to keep these things in mind when I produce things in my own life, I try to point others in the right direction as well.

My fingers are not sensitive enough to read braille on playing cards! Are there any Apple software/hardware products that allow me to quickly read playing cards without having to push the camera function each and every time please help if you can

I'm not blind, but have low vision. I find Apple accessibility inconsistent. I want to do photo editing, but cannot find a photo app that works with accessibility features. Like 'VoiceOver'. The tool are so small, I cannot see them, Very frustrating.

Great video! I would also add that all these developers should take the time to try the different accessibility features for themselves-so they can get used to what it looks and feels like. I would also emphasize that these accessibility elements do not stop at the visual or audio improvement that we need as people with disabilities. There are many people who have problems moving stretching bending etc. etc. etc.! Be mindful as you’re developing your app to make it work for everyone. Once you do this go back and try the app as if you were the consumer and also hire and work with people with disabilities and have them help you develop your application. In this way, you can ensure that your app/program will work for everyone!

Yes I have plenty of times when I would play the WWE 2K video games and stuff it's hard for me to play it because there's no screen reader or anything like that on the PS4 that would actually read the games the only one that has any accessibility options is The Last of Us Part 2 thank you James for helping with that but you know I wish more developers would have accessibility on their Minds when they create these games it makes it difficult to play also because the older games when you familiarize yourself with the buttons are easier but when you go up to console to console to console games can be hard to figure out which button to master what and even when it does come up with the button prompts you don't know what it says that's the one time I can really think of it actually does that it it's really super hard thank you for making your videos I enjoyed it enjoy them a lot

The biggest thing about making an accessible app or website is if you can help it, use the default elements that are provided to you as much as possible rather than a custom made component, as the built-in components will have accessibility built in. In web development especially, it’s important to pay attention to the order in which you write your HTML, as the order that you write your elements is the order that the screen reader will focus on the

I’m helping a blind family member get use to her IPhone XR. Is it possible to program Siri to stop playing her podcast or music by voice command? She’s getting frustrated with being able to stop play of her podcast to move on to a new function. Voiceover was confusing/annoying so she just uses Siri commands.

Did a video about this last year. Sometimes its good to get a smart TV box like Apple TV or Amazon because it can make any TV more accessible. I have a TLC Roku with some Text to speech but it's very limited.

this may sound super dumb and I know I'm super privileged but I absolutely hate that I can't use Apple Fitness + just because I live in Germany .. I mean like why? I consider myself to be fluent in English and I do English workouts all the time 🙈 I don't even want them in German xD

Apple needs to not only focus on continuously updating the iOS software. Apple also needs to upgrade your voiceover software as well as the different jester tapping for voiceover and the phone.

I haven't tried it on cards, but Seeing AI by Microsoft may be able to read out the text on the card either in the "short text" or "document" features, or the BETA "scene" feature depending on what kind of card. It's not perfectly accurate, but I think worth a try with headphones.

Apple is the best at this, but it is inaccessible to so many disabled people across the world for many reasons, including affordability and access to training on how to use those apps. Considering that so many people can't even afford to access basic healthcare and support while disabled, it is a privileged access. My concern is - how do you practice accessibility in a way which is accessible for those without the funds for fancy devices?

Been there, done that. Not for me. I'll keep a spare vanilla Android around for accessibility/UI testing purposes but it doesn't stack up to what I use my iPhone for. I need performance, video recording, and I prefer Apple's accessibility options/UI.
