in jjk 0 gojo tells yuta that if he imbues is cursed energy into his katana over time that rika will eventually latch on to the katana. so the most simple way to make a cursed tool is probably just by pouring your own cursed energy into it unitl the tool either just holds cursed energy or holds your technique too. I have a theory that if mutiple people wield a cursed tool with no cursed technique that the tool will have a random cursed technique at some point.

I'd argue that cursed tools with techniuques imbued into them would be created through some form of multi-factor process. Perhaps a person can create a technique imbued cursed tool by applying their cursed energy into it while also utilizing binding vows. For example: "When I die, this object that I've been drowning in my cursed energy all my life will adopt my cursed technique." or something like that. This theory of mine comes from the fact that Nanami's weapon (as far as I'm aware) only began to produce his ratio technique after he died. My speculation is that the imbuement of the ratio technique happened right before Nanami was finished off by Mahito. This would also give a double meaning to his final words directed towards Yuji: "Itadori... You've got it from here" (at least that's what he said in the translation that I've read ch.120 ). Not only did Nanami entrust Yuji with the mission but also with his very technique.

Honestly, regarding nanami and his sword, I had a very basic idea about it. I thought of his sword the same way I thought of yujis first dagger. It's a blank cursed tool so to speak. And considering how cursed tools absorb the cursed technique of their users, kind of like Yuji gets soaked in the cursed technique of sukuna they just gain that ability. So that's how I see it, the sword was probably imbued with Nanami's cursed technique, especially considering that he was probably channeling the very last bits of cursed energy during his final fight. Also considering nanami was blown up, both soul and body, and the blade soaking in it for who knows how long seems like a good idea. Also the whole passing on his responsibility to his comrades which can be like a binding vow of a sort.

As we see in the fanbook and in the extras for Maki vs Miwa, we learn that regular tools can become semi cursed tools. Also in the fanbook we see that there are other cursed tools that posses a dark history, which is likely referring to the bath. The process in which a cherished family vessel can be turned into a cursed tool. (Now I won't get into the theory that cherished family vessel can also mean an heir's body, or the head of the family's body. I do also have a theory about cursed objects. Either way.) Now the process includes the soaking of the vessel for 10 months, and 10 days (aka full term if pregnancy) in a solution of cursed energy, made from poisonous creatures. *By the way, poison is directly synonymous with cursed energy. Cursed energy = poison. Why is the bath process important? Well we know cursed tools can be made in 10 months using a solution of cursed energy. Well, what else is constantly covered in cursed energy? That's right, a sorcerer's weapon. And Sorcerer's are often using their tools for multiple years, in what is essentially a pseudo bath ritual. A sorcerer using their cursed tool, constantly imbuing with cursed energy alone, likely gets you a cursed tool grade 1 or below. However, what if the sorcerer used their cursed technique through their tool as well? Nanami who was constantly utilising his cursed technique through his tool, had actually done a pseudo bath ritual, in which he also imbued body information Cursed technique into the weapon. Leaving Ino with a cursed tool that has his technique. I also theorise that Nanami's soul or maybe just his memories remain in the cleaver. We also see at his death, he is holding onto his cleaver as he is killed by someone who can manipulate the soul. Perhaps Ino saw that a part of his body/soul information was contained within the cleaver somehow, through his seance technique. Now is their precedent for a soul or body information being contained within a cursed tool? Well...sort of, (If you were to consider it a pseudo version of Yaga's independent cursed corpses process.) As we know the body information contains the cursed technique. And we also know soul information can be replicated from body information. And that soul information can be inputed into inanimate objects. So, can body information be inputed into inanimate objects (weapons)...of course it can. Because cursed tools can contain cursed techniques. Let's move on to the precedent. We come to know cursed weapons, much like cursed corpses, have a sort of self sustaining cursed energy, otherwise toji and Maki wouldn't be able to use them. And then we get Daido talking the katana as if it was still alive with Mai's soul. And while people might see this as a gag or some metaphir, we do see later see that while holding the soul-cutting sword and killing Naoya, Maki speaks to Mai once last time, as if the there was remnants of her soul in the sword.

There isn't just kinda precedent for souls to be contained in curesd tools, twins can enter eachother's innate domains when touching, which is what happened with Maki and Mai in the curse pit. The space where they made their binding vow and space where they talk during the Naoya fight are the same, which means that, yes, Mai's soul is in the katana.

I'm pretty sure the inverted spear of heaven didnt get its technique from channeling a nullification technique, i think it gained its power because of the collective cursed energy of the population. The inverted spear of heaven is actually a myth in Japan about a three pronged spear that was used to negate the primordial chaos of the universe. In a similar fashion to how cursed spirits are created, the cursed energy from non-sorcerers is funneled into an object giving it strength.

THANKS for making this video i was interested to hear your thoughts! I feel like there are multiple ways for making a cursed tool , which also directly affects their potency. I wonder if there are certain materials that have more synergy with curse energy that are preferred, just like how in other fantasies there's adamantite . Also i think part of the creator's soul could be a remannt in grade 1 or above tools , especially if they have special abilities or c.t imbued. My reasoning is brain contains information related to c.t , soul can replicate that information from the body. Vice versa is also possible like in Toji'a reincarnation has proved. Here are my thoughts: 1) just imbue curse energy into any weapon makes a low grade weapon - Easy to perform and less effective against stronger curses Grade 4 or lower probably depending on the amount and time put into it . 2) Via your Material creation curse technique like Yoruzu and Mai - Large Curse energy output and efficiency are the only limits of this method. Can make curse weapons ranging from 1 to 4. But binding vow or ritual maybe necessary to make a special grade tool.( As seen in both cases) 3) Imbuing your curse technique into your weapon over time ie. use it as a medium to apply your curse technique - Eg. Nanami . Takes long time and somewhat high curse energy output, Others can now use your C.T. I feel the sorcerer can control whether this happens or not, why else would Nanami explicitly state that he's leaving his technique behind for them to use? He probably imbued part of his soul in the cleaver. 4.Binding vows - Ofc the infamous JJK element, i think it plays a vital role in curse tool creation. Either sacrificing your life or all curse energy to create a special grade weapon or increase potency of existing weapon. I believe playful cloud may have been created this way , a skilled sorcerer/ blacksmith makes it and then the wielder makes some sort of binding vow that sacrifices all their curse energy in order to enhance their physical dmg output via playful cloud. 5. Rituals or ceremonies: Expertise of creating weapons, time and some sort of ritual like the " Bath" .

I haven’t watched the vid yet but I am going to guess cursed tools can be made by a retired sorcerer giving up their CT or their life to imbue it on an object via a binding vow. But sorcerers rarely get this chance because usually they just get killed. Even over the course of the thousands of years sorcerers have been around we only have a few cursed tools because of this fact.

What surpirses me about Nanami's cursed weapon, is how fast it was made. I don't remember exactly how much time passed between his death and the existence of the weapon, but as you said, Gege gave us hints, it takes time, amount of cursed energy and perhaps usage or sacrifice of the user to make one. Maybe, and this is my theory, the execution of black flashes woth a weapon along the technique heightens the process and makes it much faster.

I don't think Kusakabe's sister has any type of soul technique or contributed to the creation of Takeru at all. I'm not what it would take to transform a puppet back into a living body, but maybe someone like Mahito or a similar technique could do something along those lines.

*SPOILER WARNING* . . . . . . . . I think it has layers to it, because Yorozu states that she can't make special-grade cursed tools. That could be because it takes too much cursed energy to do so, but with chants and rituals, I doubt the issue would be cursed energy usage. I think the reason is that simple cursed tools can be made by imbuing cursed energy like Yuta did in 0, but that tools with cursed techniques require the soul of the sorcerer with the technique; if you recall, Ino is a spirit medium and has something to say to Gojo right before his fight with Sukuna, and the next time we see him he has Nanami's 7:3 cursed tool. This would also explain why Mai needed to sacrifice herself to make the Splitsoul katana and why Yorozu makes Sukuna's little tazer on death's door. Now, this doesn't necessarily prove the last point, but it explains why Mai's soul is in Splitsoul katana and why Yorozu tells Sukuna to think of the tazer as her. As for weaker cursed tools with techniques it could be that they are formed with constant channeling of CT (this is also how Nanami's sword became a cursed tool, but it's grade wasn't mentioned), or they still require a soul, but much less energy is required to make them (which would explain Yorozu's special-grade limitation by combining the soul and CE theory) TL;DR: Simple cursed tools are made with imbuing, Special grades with techniques are made with the sorcerer's soul and weaker technique cursed tools are made either with prolonged channeling of CT, or wit the soul again. Sorry for the yapping sesh, I just haven't seen much cursed tool origin discussion and I am very excited for this topic.

Like the Lightbringer from ASOIAF by GRRM. The sword of Azor Ahai has it's ability cause the soul of his wife was imbued into it when he plunged the sword into her heart to temper it (and probably her Targaryan blood too but that's besides the point)!

MANGA SPOILERS Do you think that Nanami wielding the blunt blade was also an attempt to imbue his cursed technique into it? He could have easily just used his fists and not had to have relied on a weapon or if he needed a weapon use his surrounding environment but he chose to use a specific tool. So that when future generations like Ino or Yuji are left to fight without him, they can still wield his blade. We also see that even when he was enrolling at Jujutsu tech he never wielded the blunt blade though we only really have like 5 panels to go off of. (This is a complete shot in the dark and more of a headcanon but I think it's really cool so this is what I'm going with in my head.)
