Another great video Alex, I was a Butcher for about 15 years and never really mastered sharpening knives to that level. Maybe because we had to use stainless steel knives. I worked part time in a butchers whilst at school that was in the late 70s and the knives were carbon steel which at 15 I could get those knives like a scalpel. For you to master that in such a short time is awsome. Try it with stainless steel, you just can't get the same edge and keep it🤔

WOW That is ace!!!! I have done this myself before & it is such a cool experience especially when you are guided by a true craftsman. Now I try to make things myself rather than buying them because the feeling of gratification totally outweighs the time and effort required. Also on the plus side is the fact that it is made precisely for that need rather than just putting your hand in your wallet to pay for something that will simply "do". Very nice! I’ve made and heat treated several knives from steel bar stock, but never forged one. It’s so cool you know someone willing to teach you to forge your own! There’s nothing better than using a knife you made yourself. Thanks for the cool video!!

@@just_alex I know you’re probably very busy but you can’t have watch the video in the link. I watch your knife vlog while making dinner then I dropped my daughter of at Explorers. Then went to the gym and sorted out her membership which had been linked to my email address because it had been set up buy her nurse care. In six days time it will be a a year since the day my daughter was taken to hospital she became so I’ll she didn’t know who we were or who she was and still she floats through fases of finding it difficult to know herself. It’s difficult but part of the treatment is recognising the autism within our family and life is so tough at the moment. And you help me escape.

I would love to learn this trade and make my own knives it’s absolutely fascinating I was going to at one point create a forge in my garage It would’ve been far too noisy so I didn’t do it wish I had though. The knives you made are brilliant you did such a good job

I have been house hunting with my husband today because we want to be mortgage free. We saw a place in EG that was amazing the property was mad crazy. There lived an old man a smiley old man called Graham he came out to greet us. He was going to live with his daughter. He had hundreds of old clocks pushed into every corner. The bungalow needs to knocked down realistically so it’s not for us. I wondered what it’s going to sound like outside his house on the hour. I parked outside his house to hear if it’s was magical. It was especially as St Swithen must have a bell ringing session on to night. The world is magical if we let it be.
