Well, when the store shelves are empty and you are still eating, your harvest is MUCH more valuable than current market prices.

hi alex if you still get slug and snail issues with the green portable greenhouse get a tray just a bit bigger than the base of the greenhouse about 2 to 3 inch depth and put the greenhouse into it and fill half way with salt water that should keep everything in there slug and snail free

lol, you just make me smile. For a young guy you’re such an inspiration not only to young people but older people like myself. I’ve not long retired and want to do everything you’re doing! I’m going to try the North Coast 500 Scotland in my car. I found you by accident trying to get ideas of others camping in their cars. All I’m worried about is how I’m going to make my tea. I don’t want gas in my car. Want to use a kettle so looking into everything I need, just like you were at the beginning 😁. You’re a phenomenal young man, always remember that. I’m subscribing now. Might bump into you in Scotland next time you’re up here. Wishing you all the best 🚙

BRILLIANT! I'm a newly retired high school biology teacher from Ohio and have often considered keeping bees. You, young man, are BRILLIANT! You are a brilliant example of life-long learning, a brilliant teacher, and a brilliant video producer! I first watched your video about gardening and how much food you could grow in a year. Then I saw this one, and once I started watching I couldn't stop! Please continue producing content and taking us on these epic life adventures! Thank you!

Sanitation tip. Wear gloves when mixing your spawn up by hand. Could easily be carrying spores/ bacteria under your fingernails
@MM-jn2ny4 күн бұрын
When adding your grain spawn you should break it up more. The large chunks should be smaller. Helps get better spawn coverage of your substrate
@MM-jn2ny4 күн бұрын
The fear of mushrooms may come from the fact of just how many mushrooms out there that grow literally everywhere can easily kill an adult if eaten. And it's not a nice death, it's a slow ordeal where your organs fail one after another until you die days later... So always Always 100% ID any wild shrooms before ingesting Nobody wants to go out like that
@MM-jn2ny4 күн бұрын
You know I know quite well how to grow mushrooms but I enjoyed watching your video. Always nice to see people getting into Mycology. Should start taking spore prints and such from wild mushrooms and transfer those spore to agar. That's a whole different ballgame but when you reach that point there's no going back. Enjoy
@MM-jn2ny4 күн бұрын
When you said you cheated by getting grain spawn. I wouldn't exactly say it's cheating as you reduce the steps in which you could possibly mess the process up. For someone doing it their first time I think that's a great starting point
@MM-jn2ny4 күн бұрын
Using isopropyl alcohol 70%+ is best. 70% is actually better than 90%+ as it doesn't dry/evaporate as fast so it has more time to kill any bacteria and such on the surfaces

You mentioned something that I haven't noticed ANYONE else mention, and that's the fact that there are artificially made places to practice skiing. I live in the States and in a state where skiing isn't a thing and it's a 10 to 12 hour drive to a slope. I Checked and there is a place within forty minutes of my house where I can get lessons and practice skiing on an artificial slope. I had no idea that was even a thing until you mentioned it. I'll be going to a ski resort for the very first time in my life in about 3 weeks. Before that though, I'm going to go hit the artificial slope near my home. Huge thanks.

Here I don’t understand why Alex didn’t just make up some top boxes put that above the brood box to make a big high from collect lots of honey why create lots of other little hives I don’t I don’t understand? Surely if the brood box is getting full, you give them space to make honey.?
@Isaiahch35vs84 күн бұрын
Hi Alex, can I ask how you recorded going down the slopes? Because at some point it looked like the camera was above your head? But it didn’t feel like a drone shot and if you had ski sticks, then you couldn’t have been holding some kind of GoPro selfie stick so I’m just puzzled.

As a local British Columbian, it's always funny when foreigners ask if you've ever seen a bear or something similar, especially if you spend a lot of time in the mountains and woods. "Umm, yeah. It's pretty normal to see a bear. Not every day, but a few every year."
