HOW ARE THE STABILIZATION ON THE DJI ACTION 2 | SO MANY MODES/SETTINGS ANY DIFFERENCE? LETS TEST IT

I am extremely honoured you made a whole video from my previous request! Thanks mate! Anyway, in terms of stability, I agree there is very little difference (maybe no difference at all), between the 3 modes; at least when jogging and using a selfie stick. I think I will maintain my DJI Action 2 settings similar to yours when documenting my forest field works, either horizonsteady or steady. Thanks again Espen!

It's very hard for me to notice any difference accept for distortion or maybe a bit of cropping maybe not; DJI is miles away in this game of stability. They really good great!!! Thanks for the video 🙏❤️

Great vid. I'm going to test steady and HB. I noticed the distortion with sides looking stretched with rocksteady and I'm only recording my daughter playing. Is there an optimal focal length, like is there guidance on how far should the camera be away from you? I think that might also reduce the distortion in rocksteady.

Thank you, steady and HB is great and the image doesn't look too distorted. Remember that for best image quality wide or ultra wide has the best image quality. But look way too distorted. In focal length I'm not sure what's the optimal length. But remember focus distance is 0,3 meter. Thanks for watching 😀

For me I like the crop of steady mode and horizon balancing. Rock steady 2.0 is a bit to wide for vlogging but then again I am usually walking not running.

This is exactly what I was looking for. My Action 2 Power Bundle arrived yesterday and I have been testing out different modes and was trying to figure out the difference between steady and rocksteady. I could tell steady was more cropped but the naming makes it confusing between "steady" and "rocksteady". I'd think that steady would be less stabilization than rocksteady. I really like it so far and am very satisfied with my purchase. It was $279 USD and I think that makes it hard to beat.

I love your videos, could you do a similar video testing low light/night recording with different settings please, I'm really struggling getting watchable night footage, mostly comes out grainy and shaky but I've seen some footage on KZbin where people record nice footage at night but I can never seem to get the right settings, thank you.

Hi 😀, thanks for watching. Well the action 2 has a really wide field of view, I usually film with standard d-warp 4k 30fps. But for travel videos 60 fps will work well. I would not film in 1080p, the quality is not that good. But 4k 60fps will look good.

Amazing video, this helped me a lot with my settings. One thing that I'd like to see, is the same test but with the camera attached to the magnetic lanyard you get with the DJI, as I could imagine the camera would bounce around more than on a selfie stick

Thanks. I bought Action recently and I still have some doubts. The image in normal mode is perfect but when I use it in Pro mode [no filters] I set the ISO to 100 and the SSp to correct the lighting and the image shakes, I don't know why. Has it ever happened to you?

@@hugo_cunha Hi, that's strange never had any issues with mine. I usually record in 4K 30/60 fps, WB 5500 , exposure -0,3 and ISO 100-1600. Never had issues like you describe.

Hey, the Sony is a excellent camera. I have it and love it. But yes the action 2 is a better camera, that's my opinion. Better image quality, better stabilization and the wide option in field of view is awesome. And the camera module is waterproof, I wish the whole system was. But it's not. All depend of what you are using the camera for. I really like the action 2, I use it for action sport and vlogging. And it just works. I know some don't like it, don't know why. Some have issues with overheating, I never experience that at all. I use it outdoor all the time. Thanks for watching 😀

Thats strange, I only see that if I film in 1080p in horizon balancing. You should calibrate your camera. You can do that in the menu settings. Horizon calibration, just make sure your camera is on a flat surface

On the screen you got 3 lines, when you tap on that. There you see, color profiles, WB and field of view. You can only change field of view in Rock steady or steady mode.

Don't forget to take corners, because that's really where all the difference between stabilization comes into play, and GoPro is downright bad at this, to the point of wanting an osmo instead. @@EspenJohan hey great video thanks, I traded an unpacked dual screen kit with my rarely used pocket 2 combo for actions' usability on helmet and also its waterproffness. I am kind of regretful. Still could not opened the box :) Are you satisfied with your choice? Pocket 2 has incredible image quality. However I ran an ironman 70.3 on last november. Cant imagine I could use pocket 2 on that sort of races because of its gimbal's vulnerability for breaking. Action 2 on the other hand definately can be used even on a rainy race day. Yeah... still miss that pocket 2 ;) always on the fence...
