How are you charging you 48v Razor SCUD Batteries? Show and tell time about the MOLEX charge port!

Some say you can charge in the discharge port, some say nooooo way!
Please comment below on your thoughts on this video and how you are charging your batteries? Is this faulty testing? Is it a faulty BMS? THANKS FOR WATCHING!!

I’ve disassembled one, the small leads are for charging, and route through its own control mosfet. The larger wires are for discharge only. It’s purposely designed split port bms as it allows for higher current draw with less drop on the discharge side with the caveat that you lose overcharge protection on those leads. Everyone says they’ve been charging them with no issues, and yes the bms can compensate but if your charger freaks out and overcharges it, you have a bomb.

The small connect is linked to the BMS… so as the battery is charging, is regulating each string inside with equal voltage

Right on! Just dont know why its 8v on the charge port rather than 52v like the discharge port..

I’ve been charging through main discharge port with 2 19ah scuds in parallel for almost 2 years. I also had issue la in the beginning with the smaller port and haven’t bothered with it since. Batteries still charge to 54v no prob

The small port is probably a trickle charge port to preserve battery life.

Yes sir! It just doesn't kick on my good charger.. just my 'dumb' charger. lol

Your not gunna get the same voltage from a charging port. I cut them off and wire in the stock xlr port to it since most dont come with the xlr charger adapter. Ive charged through the discharge port aswell. The battery bms is rated for 2.5v chargers. Ive ran it at 5amps through either of the ports with no issues aswell. Lol.

lol nice! I am doing the same.. cheap enough battery.. I will monitor it and see how it goes!
