About the vaping thing. I am an airline pilot. I’ve had 2 occasions where a passenger has been caught vaping mid flight. Not by other passengers or the flight attendants. By the fire alarms going off in the cockpit. Yes, their incessant need to vape makes us believe for a minute that the plane might be on fire. HUGE safety issue, potentially causing a diversion and majorly disrupting everyone’s travel plans. As Charlotte would say “How are you not EMBARRASSED?!?”

The pilot came over the tannoy and was so angry, he went bat poo crazy about where we were, fires on airplane, endangering plane passengers & crew and "when we identify who it was, the authorities will be waiting for you when we land", don't recall what happened though I suspect quietly when we disembarked. If they were that desperate, could have just covered themselves in patches, ate a couple of packs of nicotine gum, and sucked air thru a straw. He asks to see "the party scene" and I showed him around, incl opening the door slightly so he could see my boy fast asleep. Cop goes downstairs, raps on Mr Complaint's door and says, "what the hell is going on with you?!" He was NOT happy!!! He said that if we had been any more quiet it would've been a graveyard, and suggested that Mr Complaint go adjust whatever the hell he was taking and stop making crank calls to the police.

Yes. It's astonishing how free some people are with doing whatever they want in someone else's home. Even if you're a friend, you don't act like trash. I once had a "friend" drop by unannounced and proceed to make a mess of my bathroom, including using my face towel to wipe off the back of her pants and drop it wet on the floor. Another time she wanted to come over and use MY bed to screw around with one of her boyfriends. Gross.

As for girl/guy code, the best characterization I've ever heard on the topic is from the pilot for Designing Women, when Suzanne started dating Mary Jo's ex-husband, trying to justify it as "the marriage is in the past, these things are over" -- to which Charlene claps back, "these things are never over; I'm sure Mary Jo has some old underwear she doesn't want either -- that doesn't mean she wants to see you in 'em".

It’s very much appreciated by non-smokers. Unfortunately not all people who vape were once cigarette smokers. Where I live there were very few places to smoke as the dangers of 2nd hand smoking became more evident. Mostly the bans were around schools and restaurants especially those without spaces. Which means there is no real way for people to learn the proper etiquette around it. People seem to think they puff out is okay but it’s essentially a hand held Shisha.
@alycenowens7793 ай бұрын
Your completely correct, I used to smoke cigs too and now Vape, there are specific smoking areas for a reason and I hate when ppl try and say otherwise like oh it’s literally just water vapor and blah blah blah, yes along with chemicals and if someone is bothered by that or it just isn’t apart of their lifestyle does not mean they should accommodate us, we should accommodate the non smokers who choose to keep that out of their life. The only time I feel like anyone is at fault for being apart of smoking/vaping when they choose not to do so is when a non smoker wants to stand in a smoking section and then complain that everyone is smoking 😂

When I first started chemo, I used to get terrible nosebleeds. I found that sticking tampons in my nose was the best way to plug them. 😂😂 They were so bad, I once needed to change out the tampon on one side (completely bled thru it) and put in a super to get it to finally stop. Thankfully they stopped after a few months. Will donate the rest of my supply to a women’s shelter.

Regarding the volume of activity. I was once told that a relative of mine and their significant other had gotten so fed up with the family above them (newcomers to the country, lots of them, with children) for making so much noise they put the speakers (80s version) facing the ceiling and blasted AC/DC. The bar down below called my relative wondering WTF they were doing. 🤣🤣🤣

@WournosFromTwitch 😂😂 I'm very familiar with those 80's sound systems. We had one for YEARS. We never put it above a '3' (out of '10') or else it would shake the walls of our house. As a teenager my son finally asked why never above 3. I told him to turn it up and then just watched him. He turned it back down quickly & then asked if he could turn it up full volume to see how loud it could be. After I covered my ears said to go for it. To say he was shocked is to put it mildly.

Charlotte, as someone who used to work in a bank's Card Loss Prevention department, let me give you some advice. If you're traveling, call your credit card company BEFORE hand and put a travel notice on your card for the different places you'll be traveling to. This will make it much less likely for your card to get declined due to suspected fraud. Bank's have an algorithm that keeps track of your card spending habits. If all of a sudden you're in a different country, and there's no notice placed on the card, the algorithm will do its thing and block the card.
@Mama_Bear5243 ай бұрын
Oh that’s why my card got blocked last Xmas in Mexico???
@JoeTyria3 ай бұрын
@@Mama_Bear524, if you didn't place a travel notice on your card before you went, more than likely. Most cards have an international number you can use on the back in such cases. You call, get your card unlocked, than have them place the travel notice for the remainder of your trip. Keep in mind, though, that just because you place a travel notice doesn't necessarily mean your card won't be blocked. If you use it in an area that is currently trending in high fraud activity, it could still get locked. And yes, banks pay attention to that sort of thing.
@KnawedOne3 ай бұрын
This happened to me and when I called bank to find out the problem, a kind person carefully explained. They track your usual spending locations & amounts and block clear deviations. So I simply told bank my travel plans for next couple of weeks and then next month and where & how much I anticipated spending. Problem solved.

The night before she went back home, she told me I'm lucky to be pregnant because I don't have to get my period for a while. I told her thats true about the bleeding, but I still get cramps every few days(which is normal for me), I'm sick and tired all the time, and I eat constantly. Plus, the "period" after giving birth makes up for a minimum of ⅔ of the missed periods. 6-8(10 when I had my daughter) weeks straight of nonstop bleeding. Periods are awful but pregnancy is complete hell for most of us. Dont get me me wrong, its a beautiful experience... but its miserable

I rented a room above a bar because it was close to work. One of my friends also lived there. At one time he was a DJ and still had all his equipment. On his birthday we threw a party for him. The bar hired a live band but we wanted to party at home because it was cheaper and we could smoke whatever we wanted. So we did and lots of it and Justin wanted to show off how loud his system is ( he used to fill arenas and only use his stuff) and cranked up Nine Inch Nails song Heresy. The owner of the bar came up and walked into our living room and asked Justin to turn it down to house party level because he was drowning out the band downstairs and a couple glasses fell off the rack. It was loud enough in the house that a girl sat in front of one of the speakers and the bass was blowing her hair back. He passed around 8 years ago and left his entire system to another "up and coming" DJ. His career was going nowhere so he sold off as much as he could. All the money he made from the sales he spent on a headstone for Justin that was a big speaker with music notes all around a life like photo of him with his head phones on.

@@donnadelgado8164 Another friend who died doing what he loved, riding his harley, we pooled together to put a concrete pad on top of his grave so his biker friends can come and do burnouts on his grave. His headstone also has a place to pour a shot into. It is just a tube going strait into his grave. Out of the 20 or so of us that hung out together there are only 5 of us left. So far everyone got something special.

I've never heard a person say "like" so many times in a conversation.

I've never heard anyone use it that many times in one sentence. For awhile, back in the early '70s, when I was still in school, classmates were starting to say "like" in conversations to an excess. One teacher flatly told them that unless it was used comparatively, it was not to be used in his class, or there would be consequences. It took a short time, but language in her class became clearer. This was in an English/writing class.
