OR that chlorine only smells like chlorine when someone has "added" their own water to the pool..... if you go to a pool right after a complete water change, the chlorine doesn't smell. It's the "additions" that create the smell.

When I was younger I had a swimming class, right after a baby-parent class. Every time before jumping in we’d all go around searching for poop in the pool, and once after we had checked and everything looked great I jumped in and began swimming my laps. After a while I see something on the bottom of the pool, and I’m like “oh someone prob dropped their hair tie”, so I want down and trapped it. It wasn’t a hair tie I’ll let ya that much

I was a Dad that saw ALL from her best friend at wedding rehearsal. Normally they don’t dress up, but as decorations were very elaborate, they wanted to make sure the dress wouldn’t snag on anything. HOWEVER, when the priest stepped forward to announce them ‘man and wife’ he accidentally stepped on her dress. As I was giving her away, I was front and center, I immediately removed my jacket and wrapped this young lady. This was over 22 years ago and it has NEVER been mentioned since. Her and her husband are still close friends of the family but nay a word was said. Some men have little to no class, it’s pathetic they couldn’t empathize with this beautiful young lady, instead having to show their perverted side, they really loose credibility by saying anything other than ‘are you okay?’ while covering her up

The first date story is a big reason why I just took an another self defense course. No man (or woman) has the right to put their hands on anyone and say “no isn’t an option.” I’m so glad she was able to flag down security, but I firmly believe everyone should know some basic self defense. The course I took was free and run by the police department.

I once had a cell phone with a feature that I wish every phone had. I could push a button on the side of the phone and the phone would ring and display the contact that I had previously chosen. When I answered the "call" it would play a message that I had pre recorded stating a reason that I had to get home immediately. I never had to use it but it's a great idea for people in dating or other situations.

Once upon a time, I was swimming in Lake Michigan on a really windy day, 4 foot waves and I was having a blast. That’s…Uhm…yeah… …my only experience with a preacher that bears discussion was when I was 4, my family attended another relatives wedding, was at a church, and the priest was at the door welcoming everyone inside, as my family started walking in the priest extended his arm to block the path, looked me, THE FOUR YEAR OLD, right in the eye and said “your kind isn’t welcome here” Note - this wasn’t a racial thing so don’t jump to that. My mum was confused, dad looked angry, but we just left, but according to my parents (I have no overly clear memory of the event), I stopped and turned to look the priest in the eye and apparently just said “heart attack”, then walked off with parents Come to find out 20 years later - a heart attack is exactly what he died from… 😮😮😮

Each time I got pregnant, my hair stopped falling out and my pubes got so long they could almost reach my knee if you pulled it straight by the time I was ready to give birth (I didn't shave then - long story). After I gave birth, within 10 days I was shedding hair like my dog each spring and was pulling out handfuls of hair and pube hair in the shower each day. Took about 2 months to get back to normal.

Charlotte, one of the very best pieces of advice I’ve heard you give is “we need to normalize leaving a date early when we see red flags” nevermind being nice! I believe that girls especially are brought up to be nice and sweet and not to stand up for themselves as much as they should. I didn’t bring my daughter up this way and my granddaughter is not being brought up this way. You don’t always have to be seen as nice and sweet. You have a voice, use it. It’s OK!! You have gut instincts, pay attention to them! They’re rarely wrong. And even IF you are wrong about someone, I would much rather see you apologize after the fact than ignore your gut instinct and find yourself in a dangerous situation. You have power! Stand in it unapologetically! Even if your actions bring consequences. Again, I would rather see you get a mild consequence than endure a much riskier situation that could be harmful. Do NOT worry about being embarrassed! I tell my granddaughter all the time (she is 14 but only 5’ tall and 112lbs) that if someone grabs her or tries to steer her in a direction she doesn’t want to go, if she doesn’t know them, get LOUD! Don’t be embarrassed. Yell “I don’t know you! You’re not my father, uncle, brother, etc” hit kick bite. Do whatever and they will let go. And NEVER teach your girls that boys are pinching, hitting, snapping their bras, or pulling their hair bc they “like” them! This MAY be the reason the boys are doing it but it is wrong! And it sets your girl up for abuse in the future. That’s why we hear soooo many DV victims say “he does it bc he loves me” 🤷‍♀️ huh wonder why they think that?! LOVE DOESN’T HURT! Ok I’ll get off my soapbox. Stay safe out there ev1. Have a great week ❤️

I had the most embarassing moment because i am dumb. I was invited to some fancy theatre event. I had bought nice sheer black pantyhose to go with my short dress. But i did not try them out before i had to leave. I put them on and noticed immediatley that they won't stay up. But i remembered a tiktok hack i have seen: just wear a second pair of undies over the pantyhose and it will stay up. What they did not say was, that this should be cotton, no super smooth material..... So I went. And before the show started we all stood there, champagne glasses in hand, chatting and suddenly, my undies fell off. They did not slide down slowly or anything, they just dropped down in the middle of the crowd. And i started laughing like a maniac. I could not stop which led to my heel getting somehow hooked on to the material and i kept laughing while frantically trying to shake it off

The first date - This is why you are NOT NICE to guys that make you uncomfortable. He told her “No is not an option.” Right then and there you stop. Don’t be the “I don’t want to be embarrassed by making a scene” one. Make a scene, draw a lot of attention, call the cops, go into a very crowded place and raise hell. I felt for the girl with the drunk date in Fort Worth. But when she said she drug him by the collar to go find his car, I lost it. It’s exactly how Texas women handle men we’re completely fed up with. The amount of times I witnessed my mom lead my dad by the nose, ear, or collar of his shirt when she was done with his shit after he pushed too far when he pissed her off…my fiancé learned when he was just my best friend and neglected taking care of himself (eating, socializing, self-care, mental health, etc.) that I was not afraid to call a friend that lived in his dorm building to come let me in so I could march my happy ass up into his dorm room and physically drag him out by the ankles if I had to in order to make him go outside and get some sun, fresh air, and a more substantial meal than ramen and chips. He never ignored my text messages or phone calls ever again after that day and it’s been 5 years. Hell, I do it with the few female friends I have. I’ve had my best friend’s mom (professor on campus) catch me in Starbucks and give me my personalized spare key to the house so I can come and go as I please so I could go and drag my bestie out of bed and force some serotonin on her. So I come in and literally toss her over my shoulder without a word while another of our friends grabs her school backpack and her purse while she’s shrieking and swatting at my back asking what in the sam hell I’m doing as I’m walking to my car. Is it really kidnapping when I have parental permission?? It’s not like she doesn’t have actual clothes at my dorm and it wouldn’t be the first time I let her sort through my makeup collection to do her makeup if she wanted. We have too many sleepovers for that to not be an established thing.

I got a Brazilian wax once (only done it a couple times in my life) and when it grew back in it was light brown instead of dark. I was like, wtf, frantically googling to see if this was normal. These stories made me remember when I was traveling to Rio de Janeiro with my parents and we stayed for a few days in a shared apartment (this old and really nice dude welcomes people in his apartment for a lower price). On the fourth day of the trip, we went to the aquarium. I started feeling a sharp pain on my back. At first I thought it was because we visited a submarine the day before and it was a very tight space, so most of the time we had to crouch a little bit in order to walk through it. But then, the pain got worse; it spread through my shoulder, to my arm, to my neck and a part of my face. It was so severe I thought I was going to throw up, and believe me when I say I have a high pain resistance (because I have endometriosis). I started crying, my dad got really worried and my mom instantly went to the bathroom and had diarrhea (she can’t really hold her stomach when she gets nervous 😂). The staff from the aquarium guided us down to the ambulatory facility. I lay on the bed, thinking I’m gonna die and it’s the end of me. The doctor so very calmingly grabbed the necessary equipment and checked my vitals and all. After doing the check up, this 20 year long working doctor, who is used to seeing people with shark bites and the most gruesome things, looks me dead in the eyes and says “you need to fart”. BRO. There are not enough words to explain what I felt in that very moment. Was I happy I’m not dying? Was I sad because I missed the aquarium tour for nothing? Was I embarrassed for having thought I was gonna die when it was just fucking farts? Long story short, because I was sharing an apartment, I wasn’t able to poop in peace (yes, I’m just like Charlotte, my poop is shy, okay). I really thought I could get away with no pooping for four days 😂 After the ordeal, the doctor gave me some medicine for farts, the pain went away 10 minutes after, and she asked for the staff to make an exception for us and let us continue our tour of the aquarium even after closing time! It was really nice, the staff were playing jokes with us and there was no other client other than me and my dad (my mom was still recovering from the diarrhea 😂). She was a real angel ❤

This is one of my favorite episodes. I give alot of credit to the people who weren’t embarrassed to tell their stories. I love that they can laugh at themselves. I can’t do that myself. I would be embarrassed that I embarrassed myself and I would spend the rest of my life trying to forget it ever happened and I could never re-live it by uploading it. 11:29 I am, well, blessed to say the least. At 12 I wasn't able to wear strapless shirts/dresses/etc., because the tops will NOT stay up where it's supposed to. Wellllll the summer I was turning 14, we went on a 2- week vacation. 1 week on a Caribbean cruise, the 2nd week spent at Disney World (my little brother was 5). One port-of-call was Belize City, Belize. Beauuuutiful place. We mainly avoided a lot of the tourists things, choosing the smaller, hole-in-the-wall places along the way that didn't have a lot of the tourist-y type things going on. This instance, there was a small ship turned pirate ship, and thinking it would be amazing for my little brother, mom booked tickets and it was the first thing we did. Not being much of a thrill-seeker, I was enjoying the hell outta myself (this was really cool. They served juice for anyone under 21 or who didn't want any, and rum for the adults, and a few other really cool things) and then they announced they were letting people "walk the plank". They put someone in the water for safety in case someone struggled to swim back to get back aboard, and tbh, it looked like a TON of fun. The water was crystal clear, we weren't in a super deep area, and it was a GORGEOUS day. I mean, it was perfect. There happened to be this cute boy my age that was on the cruise (we both attended some of the teen stuff they had aboard the ship, too) and he happened to be on the pirate ship as well. I didn't want to get my current top wet since we wouldn't have a chance to do what we were going to do and let me change in our room on the cruise ship, so my aunt, being the prepared woman she is, had brought along a strapless shirt for those "just in case" moments. I was wearing a tank top. Soo I went to the bathroom and changed, then with as much confidence and stupidity as I had at 13 years old, I decided to "walk the plank". I got to the end and omg, it was HIGH. I was scared, but that cute boy was actually watching me (telling me later he didn't know any girls that would do that and he thought it was cool lmao) so I jumped. THE MOMENT I HIT THE WATER, my f-ing bra and top decide they're going to attempt an escape and float TF away, and I was immediately baring it all for anyone that was watching. Remember, crystal clear waters....and there were about 20-ish people freaking watching. As I'm attempting to put my clothing back where in belonged, I'm also trying to swim back to the pirate ship without drowning, and the dude in the water was swimming up to me to help me out of the water. I was so embarrassed. It would have helped if my aunt and my mother would have lied and said "you couldn't see anything", but oh no. My aunt was dying laughing, as I took my shirt, glaring at her, and hiding my face as I went to change. The rest of the day was fun as fun could be though :) We ended up going to this restaurant that had a stage, and as we were eating, they had local residents come on and were talking about the history and the culture (things I was - and still am - very interested in learning about. it was a big thing in my family to understand different cultures, to learn about their history, etc, so we could be better educated on everyone and different places around us). They invited people up on the stage to do this ceremonial dance. I raised my hand and was chosen to come up. It was a lot of fun and, while the whole place was watching, I had the time of my life :)~ Oh and I did end up with a little "cruise ship date" with that boy lol
