In a practical sense u must give authority to others. For example if ur pulled over by a cop it will not go well if u say I am all authority. There's a distinction between knowing what he's talking about, even ur perception about reality as a framework for ur mind and how u operate ur life because there is a practicality in how others live, think and to operate well in the world u must abide by rules or u will pay the consequence. If the consequences don't bother u, it's still egotistical to challenge the nature of structure. Why not just play the game so to speak. But it's also the thing with buying into it. To give authority in ur mind is like believing others are separate. U can say u know I believe the cop is me, I believe that no matter what happens doesn't really matter, I don't believe in rules or right and wrong... But still I'll let the cop believe he's the authority, I listen to his or her commands, but it really does not bother me to do so, but I still know he's not the ultimate authority. He's just the authority in the reality now. Laws change all the time which goes to show how the authority changes all the time. For example at one point in America it would be a gangster with authority, not a cop. Who knows in the future. What matters is here and now and the authority ppl have is connected to the here and now. So it's very fluid.

I became quite present and thought to myself. "Who but me is the decider of truth." That is where my journey began. From there I asked how truth is had and so on. I realized my very self that day. It was me who decided who giants were so it must always be me who decides what reality is. I'm the only being that cant be lesser than. Rabies vaccines are done too frequently, but yes that vax is necessary, as is the one for distemper, a disease I never wish to see in my life). Vaccines have helped eradicate a few miserable contagious diseases. They're a good thing. I guess if we want to get paranoid, we could believe that big pharma is releasing contagions to make a billion dollars on a vaccine? “You are god, you are oneness” is just another perspective (albeit a powerful one) that ultimately has to be dropped. If you run around telling yourself “I am god, I am god” in many situations that will create havoc. The you that tells itself to be anything is an illusion. The you that is silent and eternal doesn’t need to realize anything it is already that in whatever form or with whatever believe that is hold. 🐒

path within there lies the misconception. The moment you try to conceptually know it i.e. calling it god, you already shrink it down, you limit it. “There is no god” is just as a valid point of view as “there is a god”. If you rest as “that” there is no concep lt of god, no knowing of god. The only purpose of leos talk here is to destroy the concept that you hold. And even that is ultimately meaningless. God doesn’t need to run around thinking about herself as god. That’s an ego on steroids

I think the main question we use whenever we are evaluating our subjective and 'objective' observations about the Universe is, "how well does it serve us in our existence as human beings?" I give authority to the existence of gravity because if I don't and decide to walk over the edge of a cliff, my human existence is over. So the truths that scientists discern is not entirely for the sake of status. Essentially, what we are giving authority to our human senses(taste, sight, touch, etc.), our ability to recognize discernable patterns in reality, the sensations of emotion we feel when we observe something or our dualistic rational discernments based on those observations. Sure, I can run with you on the idea that we are God, but whilst we are human, we are not powerful enough to influence certain aspects of reality(yet). I mean, if an individual does not believe he exists, in his mind, yes, that is his reality. But as humans, we are constantly seeking confirmation in our reality in reference to other people and the world around us. So to other humans observing this human who believes that he does not exist, he is insane. He doesn't exist in a shared reality. It sounds like a life of pain and suffering, or even if it is a pleasant one, other people are experiencing the reality that this person is incapable of fending for themselves and now the quality of their reality is diminished. In a way, falling away from a shared reality is unethical then. This is quite a mindfuck, and our reality is shaped by our subjective projections and the objective rules of reality(that we created when we were God in a state of consciousness capable of giving authority to a given set of rules). But that doesn't mean we can just believe anything if we would like to live ethical HUMAN lives. Some beliefs hurt our internal states of being, hurt others, or disconnect us from a shared reality with other humans, animals, matter, etc. We can believe whatever we want but we as humans make a value judgment as to what we want to embody in reality. Do we want to worship and value a totally chaotic and delusional human life, or are we going to construct a framework of beliefs for something more beautiful?

Authority is established by statistical performance. It appears that if something falls within a partical range of success we seem to subject that to a quality of authority. The chance you will get everything right is only by dropping the whole idea of being right. The ultimate authority is existence, everything else is just a guess.

This was a helpful video, and I have an interesting idea for an exercise. When we see religious people, they place a lot of authority in the holy book and they can become attached to their idols. For example, christ and becoming more loving. They can create an idol of their imaginary future self which they then get attached to. The exercise is that we apply this to ourselves by asking how do I participate in idol worship? Examples include: Your teachers who we say have authority. Police officers You as a successful person in the future which you then pursue as an idol. You as a loving person or anything else that you want to become. Actualized.org any leader of any group you are a part of. The list goes on. By noticing these forms of idol worship, we can see the similarities between ourselves and religious people, and then start to become less attached to our own idols. My mind starts to become blank when I do exercises like these, and then I get lost as to what to do next because I don't know what to think. Have fun with the exercise.

Hey Leo So, does this mean that the criteria by which you determine what’s true and what’s false is: Direct Experience & Consciousness? If I became conscious of something, that means it’s true? No further doubts is needed?
@ActualizedOrg5 жыл бұрын
That is technically true. But the potential for self-deception here is enormous, so watch your ass.

Leo, First of all i want to tell you that i have only begun to seriously listen to your work, but I relate quite well already. I dont remember if i have told you this, but I've been writing for quite a few years and a about three years ago I added recording an audio diary to my habits. As I listen to what you say in this video, I get excited to know I'm not the only one to completely understand divinity. I'm still slip back into delusional thinking when fall back into conditioned thinking, but if I remember to do this body and mind fear check thing, I ask myself which voice am I listening to fear or love. When I choose love, I'm most present, when I choose fear, I slip into my sence of lack. It seems like it would be an easy choice. Choose yes to the reality in front of me or choose no and remain in illusion. It seems senseless to choose fear over no fear. I question all reality when I'm present, including my own. I'm not attached to outcomewhat so ever. It's pure bliss, and pure freedom. The grand joke is that we played this on ourselves. Had we not had an Avenue Back built in, we few could not have gotten here. How marvelous we are to realized we are not even a we. What a wonderful adventurous reality it's been. I couldn't think of a better book to write then the book of creation.

I do agree on some level science is an authority game but still it’s just in the theoretical stuff. In the practical world science works, without science you couldn’t shoot this video and post it online. Love your content btw 👌🏻

Leo what you said about black and white thinking reminds me of a line i read recently in a book, it was something along the lines of ''a black and white thinker in a gray world has difficulty''. A black and white paradigm projected onto a gray world...

no hate but you confuse psychopathy with psychotic. psychopaths are people with no empathy, people in a psychotic state are delusional. i think it would be great if you expanded on how empathy works

Being an authority, having control over "others" is also very destructive (unnatural) for us, probably because the non-dual nature of reality. It feeds the ego but at the certain point cravings for surrender appear. The need of losing control once in a while. Quite commonly people who execute control over others, top managers, decision makers, ...end up behind the closed door being voluntarily whipped in BDSM sessions, drinking or doing drugs, paying for hookers etc... Authority over others is in my opinion something we cannot naturally sustain. The only non-(self)destructive and the only true authority is (indeed as u say) the one over our own lives. I have been thinking about this topic lately quite a lot. It is "funny" that u have just covered it. I have no boss, I can't, it didn't work for me. I've been there, done that, now I am proud of being independent. So happy that I dared. Leo, thanks, I have some feedback for you, some things I want to share with u privately. I will email u today. Have a nice day. Love, Katie

Notes: What is authority? Authority is the power or trust you place into other peopls Based of non-duality there is no authority but yourself There is no such thing as authority figured All authority is your authority The deepest authority that you hold is the claim that you are exist Who's is telling you that ? Other than yourself and you believe it That not obvious You exist because you telling yourself that you exist You control what is true Cuz you are God!! You created yourself You created your entire universe And all others And you are the Truth There nowhere to ask whether you are God Imagine some christian god separate from you What if god didn't know that is god ? It's way too much responsibility to accept that you are your own authority that's why you are denying it and being in a state of delusion You cannot take the truth other than yourself that's why when some source you are saying is true you are creating that Is not the truth cuz you say is the truth is the truth cuz others are saying is the truth and thats wrong You are projecting the truth not discovering it and imaging it Albert Einstein is the creation of your own mind and your imagination you never met him or have no idea if he existed And you imagined the story that he is great scientist and genius You didn't study him therefore you believed it To create a sense of reality and to anchor your worldview It's just on blind faith We creating a false sense of security by anchoring reality into authority There are certain aspects of reality that you need to verify it on your own Like who are you ? What is the world ? What is god ? What is the purpose of life ? Before you stop thinking to reach nirvana first start thinking critically for yourself Black and white thinking and absolutist You vant save a person eho is denying that they are giving authority to others is cuz they are god God wants to be a psychopath god will be a psychopath Oh yeah I was pretending to be a psychopath Openmindness is to getting locked out of the delusions of you own mind To recollect your authority is to remember what you are That you are the source of the entire universe Whatever your worldview whatever reality you hold become that way for you Cuz you are the creator of your reality Cancer like in the body of God of runaway of procreation mechanical Chain affect which end up destroying parts of himself Devilry is the denial that you are being god Steps taking back your authority: 1.Realize that your authority must come from you trace all of it back to you Try to remember in your past where you gave your authority 2.Becone conscious how you see your authority to others 3.Taje responsibility of the whole process that you are doing it 4.Start thinking for yourself and start deriving answers from you 5.Taje responsibility for delivering yoursekf to the truth 6.Get to the point that you are concious tgat you are god Even though you are god you still have blindspots and others can help you You can also self-decieve yourself by placing authority too much ob yourself as the human ego It's gonna take you some years to distinguish what is ego what is god God is your highest feeling of love and ego is about fear judgment Study hundreds of diverse sources so you don't delude yourself to spot your blind spots

"Think for yourself, question authority. Throughout human history, our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in this ocean of chaos, it has been the authorities, the political, the religious, the educational authorities who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations, informing, forming in our minds their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable, open-mindedness; chaotic, confused vulnerability, to inform yourself." - Timothy Leary

All that matters is here and now. It takes a lot to get there all the time of your life. But Leo's teachings are to investigate, shed the past pain, release egotistical things. His teachings are necessary to get to here and now. But that's all that really matters. If u are in the here and now, as way of the peaceful warrior book states, you'll be amazed at what u can do. All doing is here and now so this doesn't challenge medicine, farming, building, organization etc... If anything it enhances it's execution.

But Leo! What is wrong with giving the authority to others, if the others are my own creations? Isn't it the same as giving authority to myself, when myself is also the others?

We are all consciousness with the belief that we are a separate "self". The second one believes that someone else has power, they themselves believe they are "separate".

It's not really a matter of belief. Doesn't matter whether you believe in peeing or not... your bladder is going to take power over you and make you pee whether you've assumed the role of so-called absolute authority, or you let your manager at McDonalds dictate your life. You ain't god and you ain't the absolute authority. You don't even have authority over your own body, much less nature, culture, or the universe.
