It’s actually amazing man, I got a 11 PM in 99.8% physical condition, 96% battery and everything works flawlessly, All that for 711$ which is amazing for back in 2020 Cats out here buying a brand new phone to put it in that condition anyways and talk down on renewed phones

I don't think that's the correct title. I know many people who aren't rich, they don't go for refurb iPhones because that's a risk, you might potentially trash 200 dollars on a second hand phone. They go for cheaper android phones, usually by Chinese manufacturers like the ones under BBK electronics. The only ones who go for these refurb iPhones are people who care too much about the social status even though they themselves do not fall in that social class who can afford them, so it absolutely makes sense why Lew is so intrigued by the fact that such a market exists.

I don't know one person that buys Used or renewed phones. Most people just get the new phone on a plan so they don't have to pay all at once or they just go for a cheaper phone. In Australia even minimum wage workers can afford the newest iPhones since the wage is so high. If you're talking about a third world country on the other hand then you cant really compare.

If you're wondering what the B stands for in the pink label, that's the rating of the condition of the phone. A - Perfect (no scratches, no dents, etc.) B - Good (little scratches, maybe 1 small dent, etc.) C - Ok (multiple scratches, multiple dents, etc.) Hope this helps when buying your next used iPhone/Android!

The price is relative to the hardware, quality, release and engineering that goes into the device. The iPhone 13 Pro Max cost $1100 because its basically the top of the line smartphone right now. 10 hour screen on time and 3 great 4k cameras. Of course its expensive but its not mad unless it wasn't worth the price. Same goes for the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Always pretending that the device can't keep up with today's technology. The fact is that they intentionally downgrade the previous generation in every iteration of iOS and then argue it's not reliable and they stop supporting it to sell you a brand new device. @@raffayasif7326 3utools is 90% good enough, other things you might want to check is display touch sensitivity(fake display is not sensitive), True Tone feature, check if it’s water damaged by looking into the sim tray for red indication, use gps, camera, buttons and switches, Touch ID n Face ID, make a phone call to check mic, speaker quality and connection...I’ve bought and return 3 Xs Max last month due to various problems and finally just decide to save up and buy a new phone...I normally request for 100% battery life and sometimes they have it.

I just bought my daughter A renewed iPhone 8. It was in perfect condition and we haven't had the first problem with it. If you actually look at what you're buying you'll be less likely to be disappointed. Those phones come in all conditions so you have to choose what condition you want to buy and how much memory you want. I spent the extra few $$ for a phone in excellent condition & plenty of memory. There wasn't a scratch on it when it arrived, the battery is at 96% and it has 256 gb of memory. I spent $175 bucks and I couldn't be happier. If the battery had been an issue I would have just replaced the battery. You can buy a new one for $20. A little research and actually reading the listing goes a long way and saves a lot of headaches in the long run.

Who saves YEARS for a phone? I'm a regular guy working a dead end job working close to minimum wage and I can easily save up to a flagship phone withing a couple of months. Mostly talking about people living in a developed country, I'm aware things are different in less developed countries.

Yikes, I've bought x3 refurbs only problem was an XR had a scratch inside the back camera which was pretty disappointing, don't recall any wear etc the screen and back glass was probably replaced as well as battery.

I had that experience with ebay. I had wanted a lumia 1020 just to see the hype around the camera. The phone worked at first then fell apart. Lack of update to windows 10 frustrated but using the camera when it worked was cool.

So I bought this exact phone from a seller through Walmart for about the same price and my reasoning was this: I didn’t have dslr camera money and honestly spending money on just a webcam seemed absurd. So for 200 bucks my stream got a lot better and with EpocCam and fast internet I’m completely wireless and I have added functionality. For me this was a smart move!

Thanks for doing this review. I always wanted to know how good a renewed/refurbed phone would be. I am disappointed that renewed doesn't mean they went to the trouble of putting in a new battery in the phone. I really wonder how much work went into "renewing" the phone. To me it is just a used phone that got cleaned and inspected to make sure it is functioning and usable. Calling it renew seems a little misleading. Now if you are lucky you might be able to find an Apple Remanufactured iPhone that the Apple Store hands out as warranty replacements. Outside of offical Apple channels they might be as rare as hens teeth.

I do think tech reviewers get de-sensitised to reviewing products on a regular basis, especially high end expensive stuff. They don't bat an eyelid to it. They become almost snobs to us mere mortals who have a limited budget to buy stuff with. When they do a review like above, they're shocked and surprised that - yes - you can indeed buy a perfectly good refurbished device at an affordable price, and it works! I've bought numerous laptops, phones and desktop PCs over the years that were refurbs, and the specs are super at a discounted price. My machines have always looked pristine bar some microscopic scratches that you'd never notice, but otherwise works like a brand new machine. I've never been happier with them. But I do think there's an essence of snobbery from tech reviewers who are so used to reviewing Megabucks tech, that they forget that cheaper or older models are just as acceptable for the average person out there. Don't be like Lew. Be yourself and stick within your budget xx 🙂

As of right now I'm actually using the 8 plus... Although I have a XS I just prefer the feel of touch ID and the "old" white display... I got mine brand new in a store back In the summer of last year and it's working quite well (worth to mention that on both devices I'm still on 13.6.1)

Got an iPad pro 2017, iPhone XR, Samsung Tab S6 from Decluttr renewed w 1 yr warranties over past few years. Even battery is covered. Keeping an older device working is more eco than buying new, like the reasoning for keeping an older car running than buying new. My mom had a 3.5 year old iPhone 7 that I now have just lying around, it's around 86% capacity left. She now has my old XR and I used it equally as long, and was definitely way harder on the device overall. Yet somehow, that one is STILL at 89% on the battery. So I wouldn't be surprised if this regular 8 still had its original battery considering it was 91%. The OG owner likely just used it for around a year or so, and traded it in/upgraded to the X, XS, or 11.
