That specific engine crankshaft is bullet proof! I have stripped down engines in much worst destructive condition, and the crank is unmolested. Get rid of all the oil screens from the cam bridge, balance shafts, HPFP.

Overdosed on the silicon and no anaerobic sealer for the cam cradle. Tut tut. 🥺 Not really surprising it didn't last. A real shame

VAG has actually done away with the anaerobic sealant. They use silicone now

Vw don't put sealant on the sump or mating surfaces such as the cam cover. Someone has been in their prior ?

Theres a lot of TSI engines that had odd pistons installed, so had them replaced under warranty or aftermarket. I think this was one of them.

Another great video, how long after Mr Sealant got his hands on it did the engine start rattling? i've recently had both sump gaskets done on mine and there's plenty of RTV showing on the outside!

Hello pal! Yeah very common piston issues, which is why I think this onenwas in bits previously. My ramp in the garage is an SJR scissor lift. It is full height but I cant take it all the way there in this space. It is so awesome though and I love it. Changed my life... genuinely. We are just in the process of changing our merch onto the new supplier and the cheese rods one is not currently available. It will be very soon though pal. Soon as it is I'll announce it. There was a rebuild as the factory engine had issues with pistons (well documented TSI issue). Turns out the rebuild was done at an independent specialist. Sadly too much sealant caused these problems
