They went with Disney songs to avoid royalty issues. Many of the songs previously used were at a point where they had to choose to renew the rights or not. And my understanding is some weren't willing to do so for any price, or at least not any reasonable price. Sticking with songs already in their catalog makes sense and ensures long term viability of the show. In general I agree about IPs, but I get this one as music rights are complicated to say the least.

I still have music records with the original stories and musical score from both The Country Bears Jamboree and Brer Rabbit. I love it because it also has an illustrated book with all the original pictures from the stories and the shows. I played the records and I have to say that I really prefer the originals.

Remember me works as children will recognize it as well, but the trouble is I don't know if kids will get the funny side of Big Al which is then part of the problem because it means the joke isn't landing correctly. The way I interpret the joke is that it's a bear who's not quite read the room, hense the out of tune guitar, so that's the funny part of it and that's always worked for me. Am I on the right track though with the joke?

@@jukesy1992 Yeah Blood In The Saddle it would not work for younger children and today’s modern audience for how they shortened the show again from 12 minutes to 10 minutes which makes modern audiences have short attention spans during the performance of this new show but for the Og country bear fans who remembers the original version of this show might hate how remember me replaced an iconic song called Blood on the saddle and how remember me is inferior to Blood On The Saddle in every way and the bears singing Disney songs don’t really fit into Frontierland since it’s not country songs just more IPs that sound country songs doesn’t work for the Og fans of the original show.

Or go the Star Tours route with multiple different songs that could play in each performance. Although yes that's slightly tricky as all of the musicians would have to be re-scheduled again, but you can bet if the voice actors enjoyed it they'd find a way to come back if asked.

I love that the bears have an update and look so clean. However imo they butchered my girls with those atrocious outfits, but everyone else looks amazing. I think them throwing in Disney IP amywhere they can cheapens the experience, but remember ppl, Disney is aiming towards their child demographic, so of course theyre gonna change the songs to ones that the kids know, remember, and ultimately enjoy. Just a shame that the shows writing has changed so much because of how sensitive people are now. Big Al is my favorite and I was excited to hear that out of tune guitar twang, hoping it would be blood on the saddle, but alas no. Atleast theres the full old show on YT if I ever need a nostalgia trip. But hey, theres a chance that they could lose so much money from this change that they could switch it back to the old show script, but thats wishful thinking

Completely agree with everything you said about the show. It's not bad, but it's not good either. Kiss The Girl and Whole New World are the two that really don't work. The show is SO short as well. They really said, people have zero attention span these days. But the bears are at least still there. I hope they continue to adjust the show.

Wendel and Teddi also had solo songs and now sing together, so that's 2 less songs in the show. The 5 bears rugs would come out halfway to do a number and now only appear at the beginning and end.

Yeah, swimming in the Rivers of America is incredibly stupid and dangerous. as someone who never went to the original country Bear jamboree I think the original looks so freaking cute and was so unique to frontierland, but as kids change and audiences want to different things I think the two country bears was understandable and needed. I think it’s a cute little show to sit down and have your kids there for like a couple minutes. Get some AC watch an awesome animatronic show that’s not all that creepy. Is it probably better than the original no but is it a good addition yes but also to the point of Tiana‘s Bayou adventure this ride has so much potential to be absolutely absolutely incredible. The animatronics are phenomenal. The idea behind it is amazing just something about the execution the sensors how the ride vehicles don’t match up with the animatronics the screens don’t match up with the animatronics nothing matches up with the boat mechanics just makes this ride seem so underdeveloped in a way it’s so raw it’s crazy. I think this ride was needed and as much as I love splash Mountain splash Mountain will be missed Tiana’s Bayou adventure is a great addition to it. I feel like the execution is just not there.

I have the same opinion about this refresh as I do all the others that Disney is doing. They did a great job on the animatronics and I'm happy to see new technology improving on the old. But there is just something....off...about everything else. It just lacks the old Disney charm. If they wanted to refresh the music, I'm fine with that. I just wish they hadn't went with Disney IP music.

I agree completely. The best things at Disney were often unique and free of IP garbage. The Pirates. The Haunted Mansion. Small World, Soaring, the original Imagination ride. Yes, there have always been tie ins to Disney products. But why does EVERYTHING, now, have to be tied in to some Disney product? I am trying to think of the last major attraction that wasn't tied to some Disney product. And now they are developing entire areas of the park around Disney products. Star Wars, Avatar. And there are rumors that a section of the park will be dedicated to Disney Villains. I really don't want to pay an enormous amount of money just to be advertised to. And that is the sense I get.

I was worried when they announced the change, but I’m happy with this new Jamboree. It looks great and sounds great (assuming nothing breaks), even the Disney covers don’t really feel out of place. It just lets the bears feel more entwined with the park. Even if I miss the authenticity of the real country songs I don’t find it detracts. And if it helps make them relevant again then I’m glad it’s gonna secure the bear’s future for years to come

I enjoyed the show more than I thought I would. Trixie and Romeo’s numbers were my least favorite for sure, but Ernest’s fiddle-playing went so hard and I love it. 😂 Big Al also remains the funniest musical number too. Nothing will come close to the original show and the bizarre sense of humor it had, but this new show I feel could’ve been so much worse. i loved the new show. My only suggestion to improve the show would be to have Big Al sing "Blood in the Saddle" in his second appearance at the end (just before he gets yanked). Nice to more interaction from Melvin, Buff and Max (after all, they are just hanging around). Certainly a much better upgrade than the Splash Mountain replacement "Tiama's Bayou Adventue. It has amazing (but a lot fewer) audioanimatronic figures and the "Splash Mountain fun feactor" is missing.

The new one is absolutely pathetic. If you grew up on the old one with original country music that spans generations, you would understand. They now put in modern pop type Disney songs from movies. NOT Country songs. Example:They put little Mermaid kiss the girl.Seriously? Far from country. Then a fiddle song from Mary Poppins "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious".... Then they sing Whole New World from Aladdin? Then the take Toy Story You got a friend in me." .......... Zero originality for a show themed on Country Bears. The songs are famous but it is supposed to be Country Bears singing country music. .......... Not... let's sing about Disney Movies...... Bear Necessties at end is OK because they are bears. But it's not country. Lazy producers and writers Then they also took out very popular Liver Lips McGrowl, which is insane........ Very disappointing even though it does have some moments that are funny........ Disney now is run by people who have no clue what draws people to their parks. Memories from childhood. Not singing music from movies through Bear characters. There is no desire to watch again.

I, sadly, did not get the chance to see original Country Bear Jamboree in person, but I got to hear it on A Musical History of Disneyland and even though I did not know any of the songs, still loved it. In fact due to this new show I've been going over all the other variants. I think my favourites are: Vacation Hoedown Musical Jamboree Christmas Special/Jingle Bell Jamboree (Tokyo) both have slightly different songs. I also think Tokyo has somedifferent songs in the rest of them too. My biggest problem with new Musical Jamboree is the fact that the characters don't seem to get named via voice, so as a blind person it's harder to know who's who. I feel sorry for any other blind people because I don't know if they'd learn, for instance, the Emcee's name is Henry. I'm really surprised actually he doesn't get name dropped, as he's the host of the whole show! I really, really wish some stuff could be added over time.
