Many consider him the worst player in the NBA, and a clear case of Nepotism, but how bad is Giannis' Older Brother Actually?
Is he the worst player in the NBA? Or the Worst Player in NBA history?
Find out....

He's still a very good basketball player, would probably beat a lot of G-Leaguers and nearly all D1 players 1 on 1. Even if your 15 year old brother is a solid basketball player hes probably not even close to Thanasis. NBA players are diff bruh

Exactly. Keeping a 2 time MVP and finals MVP happy with the brotherly moral support is comparable to 4th or 5th option on the team if you ask me. Increasing your odds of winning is more than just about on-court contributions. These players in fact spend 90% of their time outside of the actual games

He’s definitely not the worse…there are players with worse stats/efficiency that receive more mins of playing time than him…at best he’d either be out of the league, g-league, or on a minimum contract like a 10-day or 1/2 year. All would depend on what team he’s on. He can still be a contributor despite his age. Loads of opportunities as well as more playing time for 3 and D type of players. He’d have to aggressively work on that 3 point shot…but with his brother being Giannas there’s really no incentive to compete/get better.

Thanasis is just perfect for his role: the 15th man. All end-of-bench players suck and can’t play in the NBA. Which is why they are end-of-bench guys. So why are they there? One of two reasons: maybe it’s a young player and they could develop into a rotation player or a vet presence. Thanasis is undoubtedly a positive vet presence. Everyone in the Bucks coaching staff (past and present) praise his work ethic, giving advice two younglings, and always going 100% during practice. Brook Lopez said that Thanasis single-handedly kept the team together during the pandemic, and that he kept Giannis from ever doing anything that could possibly put him at risk of being COVID-positive and missing a game during their championship run. Not only that, the guy refused to leave his car in the freaking parade to make sure he wouldn’t make anyone sick because he was COVID-positive during the finals. His teammates love him. His coaches love him, and the FO adores him because he convinced Giannis to re-sign this year, way before anyone thought he would, to make sure the team and new coach wouldn’t have that pressure on them. Every team would be lucky if their end-of-bench guy could do any of these, let alone all of these…

This is a high-value, low-risk investment by the Milwaukee Bucks in order to keep an NBA superstar in town. And Giannis's stay attracted another NBA star (Dame) to join the team as well. Especially since Milwaukee is a small-market team, and not even one of the more desirable small-market places to live. Money very well spent!

In reallity, if we keep the nonsense that most NBA fns say about Thanasis, he was a really good player in Europe. He was playing for one of the top3 European teams ever and he had offered a lot to that team. He was better at 3points than Giannis and he was a killer defender!! NBA fans are VERY disrespectful, for both brothers. Even Giannis gets a lot of hate and all that, just because they are both GREAT guys first, and great athletes in the same time. Giannis, is THE best Basketball player of his generation and since he 's broken so many K.Abdul Jabaar, Michael Jordan, and all those legend's records, it means that he will end his career, as "at ;east" top 20 Best players EVER. Eat that haters!!!

He can be a great "rol-player". His attitude is heartwarming. He deserves more minutes...but...difficult to get...cause the Bucks have 10 "elite" players ans 3 rookies who also need "minutes"... R. Lopez plays less ! He is NOT a bad player anyhow. Don't forget , He taught Giannis the baske game !!

Can you imagine how many teams that have lost a star player due to requesting a trade, wish that it was this easy to have kept them if all they had to do was to just have someone in the player's family on the bench? Bron in Cavs/Heat, Shaq in Magic/Lakers, KD in Thunder/GSW, Harden in Thunder/Houston etc - these players all had requests such as a lot more money, beefed with another player in their team or wanted to play with their buddies in other teams. Those are the common types of demands that are extremely hard to meet, if at all so the fact that a star player's simple demand was essentially, "Give my brother a job and I stay" was probably the best case scenario and easiest demand for a team that a superstar could ask for.

As greek fan of Pana, i think that he's not an nba player. He could have been, if he stayed 2 more years in Europe and listened to coach Rick Pittino's directions of improvement. He is an all energy guy and will give the 100% of what he offers, with some spectaculars dunks or blocks and some on ball defence, but because of his energy and style, and because he has the "must" over his head, he commits many fouls very quick and he has very poor ability of medium to long distance shots. Overall he would be a good and useful player to a team of Eurocup or a middle range to weak Euroleague team. He could offer to that stage, in variant forms, from SG to even PF.

Every team player has different roles. Whenever Thanassis was playing for a high-level European or NBA team he was always having pretty much the same role. The 12th player. Considering that the profile of a 12th player includes not to complain for not playing enough, encouraging the team and offer energy whenever he is used even if it is for 1 or 2 minutes Thanassis is really a great fit for that role. Maybe one of the greatest fits in the NBA or Euroleague for that role actually.

Thanasis is not as bad as he seems, of course he is not a great player either. As long as he only gets a little garbage time in a few games he will always be at his lowest level, but this doesn't seems to bother him. He could easily be in Europe playing basketball having a lead role and improve his skills as he was back in 2017-2019 but since money is not an issue for him, he has chosen to just be on the side of his brother, living the NBA dream, having great time and sacrificing his career. Well tbh if i was in his position i will definitely do the same.
