My guess for the layout color thing is that someone did the layouts up to Soren and then someone else did the other ones. Then, they saw that Titania was the only unit in red and since she was a female unit, the designer thought red layouts were for female units. Also the phrasing of the dude who wrote these unit reviews is (even) weirder than mine wtf.

Join order is a much better arrangement than alphabetical, at the very least. What I would do is arrange them by class. That way, you have an overview of the class's general strengths and weaknesses, then more specific comments on the characters themselves. I know that grouping all the units in a class together invites people to compare them among people of the same class rather than the roster as a whole, but you could just write in the class descriptions that it's a good idea to use multiple/many cavaliers, that myrmidon isn't a very good class, and so on.

RE: (pre-)promoted vs. master-class: To be fair, "promoted" is a fan-made term, if I'm not mistaken. Doesn't Tellius use the term "class change"? (fake-edit: The guide does use that term in Oscar's entry, so it's really not _that_ bad. At least in this particular aspect.) My biggest problem with these guides is they hardly ever say a character is hard to use or even bad. Marisa, Mia, and Nephenee have low strength and durability. Archers in all games are bad, especially with the double weapon effectiveness in FE7 and FE9. It's okay if a unit is bad. And it's okay to like a unit even if you know they're bad. Hell, I love Noish/Naoise, but he doesn't set the world on fire.

If you want some help with pronunciation, it's su-cep-ti-ble not sus-pec-ti-ble. Don't worry though, I commend anyone that learns another language regardless. It surpises me how good non-native English speakers are at speaking English. Mekkah for future guidebook writer. (Yes I know that's low-quality English, but speaking is much less criticised than writing; you can be far more flexible when speaking) Why am I so defensive?
