Bangkok Community Help Foundation is a 5 year old project to help homeless, poor and underserved people in Thailand. This wonderful organization has positively impacted tens of thousands of lives in Thailand. Today I will take you to Khlong Toei slums in Bangkok, well known to be the poorest slums in all of Thailand. This area which covers just 1.6km is home to over 100,000 people. The living conditions are cramped, unsanitary and underserved. However the people are welcoming and friendly. Join me as we prepare over 150 meals and then hand them out to homebound and sick elderly Thai people in this community. i will always respect those that give their time, money, and compassion to those that are less fortunate. i remember when i was a kid back in the states and went to my cousins place which was the projects here in the dallas area and food trucks would come by during lunch time and give out food and i would go with my cousin to the food trucks and later in life when i reflect back at those times i understand that it takes people with a great heart to make these things possible. may you all be blessed for all that you do even if it does not seem like you are not getting any recognition for all that you put into it.

I avoided volunteering as it may be viewed as work by thai immigration if someone reports you. I have walked mostly Samut Prakan poor and just gave food direct, giving money was confusing so just supported the poor vendors cooking and would sit sometimes woth small groups and give it away. Be polite, and I do not know what they say about me after, they appear appreciative to my face. Great you found a way to help 🌸🙏

Immigration will not care one tiny bit if you volunteer. It’s called volunteering for a reason, it doesn’t pay. It’s not work. Go volunteer and help if you are so inclined. Thanks for your support.

You can Visit Mercy Centre in the slums (I did with my Thai gf) -Father Joe’s and the staff will explain to you the process-They even have a school where the undocumented kids are educated-In short most of the kids at Father Joe’s has a social worker

Sure. Thai government has been assisting slum dwellers as a humanitarian effort, providing housing, education for children, healthcare, and other services. Despite the fact that many of these communities are technically squatting on government or port authority land, the government has consistently offered relocation to better areas, which has been declined by the residents.
