Why am I not surprised? Since August 5th, the country, under the Yunus-led interim government, has failed to maintain law and order for three months. Killings are happening at a concerning level every single day, yet no one is reporting it. Instead, the media is trying to portray a narrative that everything in the country is fine, even according to so-called international standards. Rather than reducing the prices of essentials and stopping the violence and killings, the Yunus-led interim government is supporting a political vendetta, executing pre-August 5th government supporters based on ideological differences. They are also erasing significant parts of Bangladesh’s history because it doesn’t align with their narrative, and yet, everyone remains silent with nothing to say!

This sounds like one of the democratic revolutions that will quickly die out when it meets the real world. A lot of flowery language about democracy, social service,... utopia. The hard truth is that without serious economic development and thus reduction in poverty levels, the flowery democracy ideals wont survive. But to get to high economic growth most people in the society will have to sacrifice for a generation. Unfortunately, democracy in a high poverty country makes development harder and slower... you need approvals from every constituency and state bureaucracies to get any project done. This slows down everything and rather increases corruption therefore reducing GDP growth. Sadly western style democracy doesn't work for countries at a low stage of development and for people with high level of poverty and low education levels... Bangladesh will be better off copying the development models of Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea etc.

It’s normal that dictator like Sheikh Hasina will feel humiliated when she had to flee from the country. But the reactions from India gives a clear message that how they want to control Bangladesh’s politics and economics and it’s clearly visible that they have lost their long lasted control on this two areas. So, this is a chance for Bangladeshi people to create their own democratic political system. This is the chance to create an economic system which will ensure absolute benefit of people of Bangladesh. We know who will not let it happen by creating all kinds of unrest situations. But these actions will not fail us if we want our own political and economic system seriously. Good Prevails.
