Hey Maya, I'm Catholic and Filipino as well and I just wanted to say, I believe that humility isn't about hiding away your talents or not promoting yourself. Humility is letting your gifts shine through to make this world a better place but always realizing that those gifts came from God and to always go back and thank Him for your talents and ask Him to guide you on how to best use your talents. When I watch your videos I feel like you really embody that humility. You shamelessly show the world how much you love God and you honor Him by using the talents that He has given you and humbly go back to Him and recognize you are where you are because of Him.

Reb3lious S0ul I don't think they are just for women, I think you can take just as much from it as a man. There are a lot of pressures on men to be successful, attractive, and interesting all at once. As a woman I hear and see the pressures that I am supposed to feel, but my parents raised me to be myself and never question myself. What I gain from her videos is that from any situation there is opportunity to grow and change, so I don't ever have to let myself feel trapped by anything or discouraged.

Where guests retreat for a day(s) to learn about the steps to becoming #Shameless, dream boards, youtube affiliate crash courses, Shameless exercises...? Something along those lines * * * p.s I remember when Maya uploaded that video and I've watched her grow and it's amazing how far she's come. I've always been inspired and so I started making videos, writing down ideas, editing...I'm setting a date for my Shameless debut and first upload! (I would never have posted a comment like this before but why not? Steps I'm taking to becoming #Shameless)

I clicked on this video from somewhere, not expecting much, but I am so inspired after watching this! I really appreciate what you told about being shameless and going out there. I feel that I have so much to share, but I block myself from doing that, because I was not raised to be loud and put myself in the spotlight. And sometimes it is what you do, to make your message passed and let your talent and potential create amazing things! Yes, we need to be shameless, even if we aren't prefect and just share ourselves with the world

Our mindsets are soo similar. I'm always on and off social media. People never understand, but I've never felt good about social media. I always feel like its not growing me in anyway, but rather hindering my growth. I've been trying to be more intentional about how I use social media I've also been feeling the need to sacrifice a few things in my life. Thank you soo much for this. Jesus is my biggest inspiration too.

Thank you, Maya! This is amazing and exactly what I needed to hear. I've always been really in to doing makeup, but was bullied all throughout middle and early high school for experimenting with it. I got called terrible names and people would constantly comment on it, so I basically just stopped and felt like I HAD to keep it natural in fear or what people would say or think. Finally, at 26, in a completely drab career where I'm miserable, I decided to take the leap and just do me. I took a few years learning how to do makeup professionally, on my own, and now am starting KZbin channel and freelance makeup artist career, on top of still working full time. I feel the exact same way about promoting myself, it's uncomfortable and feels a bit self-serving, but I try to keep it real and true to myself. So far all the feedback has been very positive. It helps to keep in mind that not everyone is going to like you or your craft. You can't please them all, and that's OK. Thank you for all the helpful videos and inspiration.

So I started filming my first video today documenting my journey, even though I"m not exactly sure what the name of it is or what it's even going to be. So much of what you said Maya resonated with me. I was brought up the same way (strict Catholic Filipino) and it's really a challenge not to feel ashamed and just plain SHY about doing this KZbin stuff. Maya, the message(s) in this video were Heaven sent.. I am now a firm believer that people and things come into your life at the time they do for a life transforming reason. Stumbling upon your first #Shameless video 5 years ago, shedding tears as you shed tears as you were experiencing life changing CHANGES has impacted me more than I can even begin to express.... It almost feels like we grew at the same time...man...When God sends you his word through someone it's more than a confirmation! Thank you for allowing him to use you to channel out your dreams and passions while walking in your purpose and transforming us all! You inspire me so much....I still remember the day you first said the word #SHAMELESS...I remember being so confused and amazed that someone DARED slaying their fears and making their dreams a reality. After all, this is the true meaning of life, isn't it? May we all find our purpose and impact many more to find their own!

You hit the nail on the head "Sometimes being humble can developed into being ashamed because you have to be reserved" and this shed some light on why I feel ashamed sometimes to be me as a Christian and not in a unhealthy way but just as you described it louder then the norm and a jokester. Thank you for putting this into perspective for me.

I'm vowing to be shameless as well. It's hard because I too grew up introverted and "humble" about my talents but I'm seeing how I have to change my thoughts to change my reality. I had a period where I broke out of my shell but slid slowly back into it but I see how to step back out. I'm tired of hiding and giving up the spotlight. I'm tired of my own excuses and self-defeating/self-sabotaging/self-denying behaviors and thoughts. I'm tired of believing that I don't deserve all the goodness and blessings that come from my labor and faith. No longer accepting my limits and bounds. No more! It's time for something new and different. It's time to be shameless.

It's insane how similar our journey is. I've always been a creative person in photography, film, hair/makeup, and fashion but I'm always afraid of sharing my work. I hate asking people to do stuff for me and pay me for my services. I moved to Los Angeles from Michigan straight out of high school and started a KZbin channel and for a long time I never posted links to videos on my other social media but now I share on Instagram but I'm still working on sharing to Facebook haha. I'm beginning to work and collab with friends now because I know it's important to work with other people. I'm still on my journey to shamelessness and I've definitely seen a change in my life since I moved 2 years ago. You've definitely been a huge inspiration to me and my next step in attending your 5 year anniversary party ALONE! I've never been to an event by myself and I'm so nervous but plan on standing out and networking with everyone! I can't wait to meet you congrats on 5 years!

You're absolutely right. Being humble can develop into shame. I feel that and you just blew my mind with that revelation. Thank you

It's amazing to see how far she's come. I subscribed before she had even a handful of videos up. Not even 30,000 subscribers yet. For those of us who were around since the beginning... it's almost surreal thinking of her journey and accomplishments in retrospect. Just incredible. I'm so proud of her.

Thank you so much! I decided a few weeks ago that I would have 31 fearless days in May. I'm in my 40's and have started so many wonderful things but would stop when I felt like I was getting to "known". I didn't want the negative feedback to start coming. At this point in my life I still care about how my actions influence others but I'm going to keep going anyway! You can't please everyone. I'm so freaking excited. I have already done some prelim things but I will hit it hard in May. This video was perfect timing for me. I wish you continued success and thank you again.

Just found out about your channel and fell in love with your positivity and energy immediately! Growing up in a traditional chinese family in Malaysia I understand exactly what you meant by being humble and quiet. I have a lot of ideas/things bottle up inside me as well and have been wanting to become shameless. BUT YES that fear of judgements from either my family or friends or myself just can't stop pulling me back. I think I need to do something soon enough! Thanks for the inspiration! Big love!

Maya, girl... you have a gift. 💎 I've been feeling so down lately, mostly because I'm not happy with where I am with my life right now. Been so busy feeling sorry for myself and celebrating others, forgetting that "Yo! I need to look after myself and put in the werkkk so that I can live my dream." Being a young, aspiring actress trying to push her grind AND also studying towards a degree that I can fall back on is tough but I shall conquer. 🙏💪 Thank you so much for another inspiring video. I love you. May more blessings come down. Love, from South Africa. 🌻

Maya, please come out with a book! I want to buy 10 copies. I love you so much, you inspire me everyday to just keep pushing. If I envision the life I want to have, that lights the fire under my ass to get up & get to it because it's not going to be handed to me. I wish you could inspire other people in my life to have the same go-getter attitude which is why I really think you should come out with a book. ❤️

The latter part of today , after being overwhelmed with feeling stuck, I've been slowly trying to recalibrate my thinking , on how to approach things and not throwing in the towel and feeling sorry for myself. And then this vid pops up to really help to further gather myself! I have so many things I want to get done, and by God I will. I just need to stop trying to do it all by myself and not overthink every process all at once

Such an interesting point of view. You're making me realize that some of the things that I'm scared of doing or to shy to do also come from shame. As my mom always told me "Stop being shy of living". I think it's time to be shameless ! Congrats on your 5 years !!

I just want to say THANK YOU. Thank you for being a role model to this girl who grew up with strict religious parents, low self esteem, creative, rare, loving, ambitious, people loving, weird, cool, sometimes hater because of social media woman. Thank you for also giving me the confidence to speak up and show people my purpose and live shamelessly.

This is such an important conversation. Using the word, "shame," is a perfect word to describe what I and many other people feel about putting their work into the world. We feel like other people will put us down for being ourselves. In reality, a lot of that is in our heads. Great video! You're an inspiration!

It's crazy that I've been watching your vids off and on for 5 years. I absolutely remember stumbling upon your channel and loving your shameless movement. I'm still not quite there yet, but going down memory lane with this video made me realize I've come a long way in 5 years too! Congrats to you! (and me)

It's hard to find people with such a positive attitude & helps people, go. Ya know, people are just all about themselves now a days, I've definitely been stepping out of my shell & showing everyone my colorful ways & it's just encouraging watching your videos, you really enforce it in me even more, I feel like I'm made of steel hahah. You have so much greatness coming to you! Thank you for sharing your confidence ⭐
