The visor is too big, at least the truck is spec’d as a day cab it can be a long logger. The truck has options to be any vocational spec. You didn’t fall on your ass wearing your penny loafers that’s all you need is break a hip 😛 Merry Christmas Michael🎄

Boy that’s a nice extended hood 579. I see they still use that junk FM radio that you can’t see in the sunlight. Looks to be a fair ride. Surprised the dash doesn’t rattle it just pushes together. I’ve got a 579 and it’s a terribly rattling ride. Wish I’d never gotten rid of my International it’s twice the truck 1&1/2 million on it no rattling dash.

Without measuring it, it doesn’t appear to be legal ,the BC CVIP manual states maximum 6” down from the top of the glazing. Definitely looks deeper than that.

Merry Christmas Mike... It's a gorgeous truck, but you asked for opinions, so here we go 🤠 First off, the visor. NO !!!! It's a nice looking piece, but I'm one of the strange guys that actually uses an air seat the way it was intended to be used, with some air in it. On top of that, I'm 6'2" and I detest having to bend over, and get twisted up so I can look under the visor to see traffic lights every time I stop at a light. Besides that, you lose almost 50% of your forward visibility... The polished aluminum panels on the cab guard look really nice, but being a log truck they will end up with a bunch of rock dings in them even with fenders on the drive axles. I'm not a fan of the tall tops on the breathers. I think it would look a lot better with the short tops. I don't really care for the skinny exhaust heat shields either. I think it would look better with the larger diameter heat shields and mufflers. I've commented several times in the past that I didn't care for the interior on the 389's. My personal opinion is that they look cheap and boring. That said, I REALLY like the interior on this 589. The door panels, seats, and the faux wood grain on the dash all look very nice. On some trucks it looks really cheap and doesn't have any character, but that's not the case on this truck IMO....

There were a lot of people buying used trucks in Canada & selling them in the US the last time the dollar was at these rates. Question about that windshield if you can say. If it has to be replaced does the sealant have a lengthy cure time & have to be kept warm while doing it like some other big windshields in other brands?

Thanks hadn't had a chance to ask my sales guy here in Ontario. I grabbed a 389 while I still could. I see some good in the 589 but more that I don't like & this 389 will be likely my last given I started in the mid 70s. Kenworth was smarter you can still get a split windshield in a W9 even though they put that monstrosity in & brought out the 990 they kept the W900. Bet if Peterbilt had gone that route fleets would buy the 589 & the rest of us 389. You have a great channel, lots of good info.

One thing that would bring more attention and more success to Peter built and improved the company is if they made trucks that don’t require CDL license and have sleeper and that is family friendly they could make trucks that are less expensive but fun to drive when you have 5 th wheel camper trailer because a lot of standard pick ups trucks 2500 to 3500 way people use them for living in them year round now it would be very nice to have trucks made by the trucking industry to make them for sale to those who need or want a heavy duty truck to haul golf cart and there home on wheels

I'm really trying to like the 589, but having a real hard time. They should have taking a little more time designing. Going to hold on to my 21 389 long snout as long as possible. Might be the truck of my career. Been trucking for 30, going for another 10. As for the visor brackets. Boy are they gaudy!
