If I may be so bold, let me pose a theory. It appears that XCOM have the turn and fade numbers reversed. For example, the Pisces' numbers are 4 5 0 2. However, it flies more like a 4 5 -2 0. The Aquarius is 5 5 -2 0 but throws like a 5 5 0 2. Apply that to the other discs in the line up. The neutral discs (Tau and Gemini) fly true to numbers. Flip the Leo's numbers (11 5 -3 1) and you get a Wraith, 11 5 -1 3. The Pisces becomes 7 5 -2 0, Aries becomes 9 4 -3 0, Libra becomes 11 5 -2 1, Dra becomes 12 5 -2 1. It seems to me that this interpretation of the flight numbers is more accurate and perhaps represents what XCOM intended to communicate. Anyway, just a theory.

Bold but correct I think. I may not have taken enough of a step back from these discs to see the bigger picture or the pattern that appeared obvious to those of you watching it fresh for the first time. Excellent insight, and curious...I wonder how they would come to literally flip the numbers...

@@SixSidedDiscs Written chinese is top to bottom, right to left. I could see it being a simple translation error. When we talk about turn and fade it's always in that order, if you read right to left it might make sense to read 4 5 0 2 as 2 turn, 0 fade. The plus and minus on turn and fade are already confusing so it seems like an easy error to make and once you've printed a few thousand discs you're probably committed.

I wonder if they choose the number based off which direction the disc tends to go. So in their head it would Speed-Glide-finish to the left-finish to the right?

They have some pretty plastic and definitely good to know that they are a legit company that supports disc sports. Would definitely consider picking up one of their discs in the future.

Are you going to explore Daredevil discs? If you do, you need to check: Polar bear, owl, timber wolf, wolverine, sabertooth, and albatross. As per usual, the flight numbers are not always accurate.

I had a Doomsday starter set where the two drivers seemed like their numbers were switched. Maybe that's a problem that can happen with starter disc sets from smaller manufacturers?

I think to the expectation question it is us the user that has to adjust expectations because even the big companies have discs that are the same run and plastic and they fly different. Until there is some sort of standard for flight ratings no one but the user is responsible. Sucks but is the truth. Would love to be able to buy a disc based on the numbers to fill a specific spot in the bag. I think thats why our community is so great because people always step in to share thoughts on discs

I have an Innova Star Lite Boss 13/5/-1/3 but even with my noodle arm it puts my Diamond to shame with a Full Vegan 6/5/-3/1 characteristic... And it's NOT beat in yet... but it floats... so there's that... (oh and My 'Disc Bank' mate sold it to me for NZ $10... That's about 1/3rd of buying a new one before freight (as there's not many local Disc shops in NZ) Note: As we term a Over-stable disc "Beef", I thought it only right to start referring to Under-stable discs as Vegan. I think Disc Golf could add a "Short Range" category after Putter and Mid Range. I often find it a bit awkward to place certain discs in the Putter or Mid Range category; like the Discraft Zone.

Flight numbers are reversed on their discs. To my knowledge, there is no universal law regarding placement of the turn and fade on flight number stamps.

Companies should update their flight numbers on discs that prove to be wrong, but players have to set expectations on the way the discs they have actually fly. A disc that fails to fly like the intended flight numbers aren't necessarily bad discs. They just fit in a different slot. That may not be someone needs, of course.

I own the whole lineup of these discs and so far, I love them and actively promote them. Sure, the flight numbers are wrong, but all the plastics are durable, and the flights are remaining consistent.

@@EliWhite I play a lot of courses 2480? and have a dog that is trained to find discs, there’s so many discs left on the course these days, many many without numbers, I trade in for bags, baskets and occasionally discs.
