The transparency in your intro is appreciated. I totally understand what you mean. Finding your own personal style and speaks to you has been the compass I've been using for my purchases. It's not about what's popular or what's hyped it's about how does it fit in your wardrobe and does it speak to your personal style and the woman you're becoming. Awesome vid! Love that pop of green

I have only been collecting luxury handbags since August of 2023 and my threshold of what I feel comfortable spending on a single handbag has ballooned in that short time. $1k used to feel like a ceiling to me, then it was $1,500 USD. From there it went to $2,600 and then straight up to over $7k for an Hermes mini lindy - then 1 mini lindy became 3, and an Hermes Maximors, and an Hermes Verrou... I do need to put the brakes on because I have been finding too many "I can't pass this up" pieces. My tactic to try to slow down is to browse sites where I buy luxury from less frequently. I had a savings account that allowed me to pick up the treasures currently in my collection but I can't keep at it at this pace anymore.

I love the guess bag and how it suits your personality. You have to keep it. It’s amazing how your lux bags reflect the same aesthetics, a sign you know yourself and your style and you have true personal style. Your core is carried through all your eras ❤

Excellent topic Dayle. Spent USD$6300 on a Chanel Trendy from the boutique and that seems to be my sticking point. I cringe now thinking of spending more than USD$4K (but I have Hermes fantasies). And I scream when you talk prices until remember you're in Australia. Your Birkin (AUD $20K) is "only" about $13k in the US. 🤣🤣🤣

Wonderful video, very introspective. I find my thoughts and feelings and handbag journey very similar to yours, but on a smaller scale. From kate spade as my first toe in the water to buying my first Petite Malle last year. I admire your eloquence while still being so relatable. You seem like the close friend we all wish we had 😘

I’ve only been collecting for a short time, but I remember my first “expensive” Coach bag purchase. My friends thought I was crazy at the time and I was so so careful with that $400 bag. 😂😂😂 I’m not to Hermes yet, but my last bag was $3600, so I definitely see it happening soon.

Guess was so expensive back then and so in. I remember having a few. 😂 Such a great video lovely Dayle. I just love how you have evolved of these last few years with your bag collection. It is so diverse and so you. Pieces that I don't think I could carry off, but you do perfectly. Your collection is just so gorgeous just like you and I feel every bag you have now was meant to be. Much love. Jenni. XX 💜💜

Love seeing Gary in your background and great video. I think I am actually creeping backwards . I like to be able to wear my bags and travel on the tube or train I just don't really feel comfortable with super expensive bags - also right now is a great time to find things on the pre-loved market so I have been enjoying hunting things. It is interesting what you were saying about why will you pay for some brands/bags but not others - I have also changed my mind on the brands I will pay for and those I will not - will pay for Fendi will not pay full retail for Chanel and Prada!

Oh gosh, I was actually just talking about this to my hubby. Handbag creep is real. I went from Kate Spade sales to secondhand designer to uncomfortable exceeding $2k...and I just bought a P9. I'd have to spend some time thinking about this if I had to explain it. 😅 For his part, hubby just shrugs and says "it's your money." 😂

I love your collection as it’s different and very you. Love watching to ever evolving collection even though I have slowed down or I can say have stopped buying luxury bags etc for many reasons. If I have the shopping itch, I just opt for other contemporary brands like parisa wang, songmont, coach, etc. Great quality, nice designs, and great price. I can sleep better at night 😀

This was a very good video Dayle! You are a big inspiration and you have had a significant influence on my collection. You have cost me money because I choose more expensive bags. But you have also saved me money because I make much fewer mistakes. Right now I am trying to talk myself out of a turquoise Speedy 25 P9… I know it’s not your cup of tea but I’m for some reason very drawn to it only in that color. My SA confirmed she can get one for me. It’s just so insanely overpriced…

I remember telling myself I was never going to pay more than 2,000 USD. That was when my Neverfull only cost me 1,000. I am laughing now because I have paid 8;000 for a Chanel bag. It’s crazy how the bag creep happens. But I have found myself going down on my price cap because of all the price increases and the quality going down. For the last few years I have been looking at the preloved bags and purchasing the bags that I wasn’t able to purchase back in the day. Like the vintage Fendi baguette and the LV bags. I am loving my denim LV and multicolored LV bags. It’s a good thing I purchased them when I did because after the denim and multicolored rereleases they are just too expensive and seem impossible to get new in store. I’m looking forward to seeing what you pick up in 2025. I love all your bags and it’s going to be fun to see what you add next.

Dayle, this is a fabulous video! I love your thought process behind it all. I find myself asking the same questions about my own collection all of the time. I just dropped almost 10k on the P9 in turquoise, which I absolutely love, but oh my gosh!! Fun fact…I was the next in line for your Chanel 19. We were emailing and it went to someone else in the US. I ended up getting the same exact bag and never use it 🤣😂. I guess I need to take my ques from you, as the B25 in Vert Comics is in my wishlist!!💚

I follow you, as do many, and one opinion that I have (and I don't know you so it's an opinion) is that you honestly use and love what you buy. I am a professional in her 40s living and working in Chicago and because of the weather and the walking that I do ( I was robbed at gun point, they stole a row bag, I got salt stains on my things, I throw bags on courtroom floors, attorney here) I find myself not really using the luxury stuff out of fear. So, I just stopped buying it because I don't use it. In the last few years, I have more money lol, I made a huge dent in paying off my beloved home, my husband is like totally on board with the no spending and the house paying, he is not Mr. Addiction. I was happy when I bought and I am happy not. I think if you love the stuff and wear the stuff then go for it. No shame in living the life you love.

I think of purses as jewellery for an outfit. I don't like to wear what everyone else has. I like quality. I like bags that are works of art. So, there's not much choice in price range if you think that way. ? Not sure but that's the way my brain works.

What are your thoughts on thee LV there are no utube videos an its still available which leads me to think no one wanted it but i am obssessed with it

A $300 bag is a luxury handbag to a lot of people. A lot of people start . And move up to more expensive bags .. luxury means different things to different people.
@hollygrace68143 сағат бұрын
No, there is a sector of the industry that is designated “luxury” “the luxury sector “ of the industry. Even when I could only afford a coach bag years ago, I knew it wasn’t “luxury” and was categorised as contemporary.

So...I haven't made "the leap" to a truly expensive bag...nothing like your collection. The most expensive bags I own are Gucci and Givenchy and cost me under $1000- au on the preloved market and had been about $3-$4k new. For Christmas I bought myself a Vivienne Westwood bag new from Mythere that I am loving the absolute 💩out of. I really want to buy a Fendi Baguette....but I just don't know which one. I went into Chadstone a month ago and I bought some Fendi slides but I did not love any of the bags the had. I wanted to ask if you could do a Q&A video about advice...like to buy this or that bag or what you think of x,y,z bag/fashion item/trend. It would be great to ask your opinion...hot takes/tepid takes.
