When I watch these video's, I feel so encouraged and enlightened. I love Eckhardt Tolle. His words resonate with me and are full of hope. Still, in actual life, nothing has changed that much for me. I still feel bored, mediocre, lazy, fearful and lacking in confidence. I'm still very tied to the ego. I guess I have a lot of work to do.

I think the best way to disidentify with your ego is to realize you are not the doer. You just have to stop resisting the "isness" of the moment. If you think YOU are the doer of anything then resistance happens. It's an attitude. So have the attitude of not being the doer of anything. I have listened to Eckhart for along time. There is another teacher called Lester Levenson(passed away awhile ago) but he says see that you aren't the doer. I instantly experienced what Eckhart speaks by doing it.

Glad I learned this today - keep creating 'lack', comparison to others in terms of 'abundance', abandonment at times like this lady and use affirmations of 'life is supporting me' and Eckhart outlines, " you are an expression of the life - one with life -" not creating the duality of 'life and me'.

Adoption trauma is real. Abandonment issues from adoption must be faced, but are seldom encouraged by the adopting family. Do not bring a human into this world if you are not going to parent. Severing ties with a infant is damaging and not a joke.

Deep abandonment is terrible. The patterns are very hard to dig out once someone is past a certain age. Vast improvements are being made - vs. 25 years ago when there was much less understanding of or help for the practical and psychological consequences of broken homes. What Eckhart does, however, is show us the spiritual component that a lot of these therapeutic approaches do not have yet. (His own parents fought constantly and divorced when he was 13.)

I can only feel that presence in myself and in dogs' eyes . I rarely feel it in people's eyes... so in order for me to connect with them I have to work around that fact by asking myself "How would you look at them if you were of the opinion that they are your equal?".. and that works to one extent or another. But actually connecting your presence with the other person's rarely works .
@mradavidas7 жыл бұрын
it rarely works because, from what Eckhart had told in this video, you need to be connected with your being before connecting with other human beings. And this is the really hard work to do - it's to enjoy life as IT IS, not as it should be, or shouldn't be. We keep making mental imagines that cut us from the present moment. And when you actually are in the present moment while interacting with anybody, you will magically feel connected with people, you would like to understand them, not to judge them. And to start your journey, you would need to stop thinking that ''you rarely feel it in people's eyes'', but rather ''I want to connect with people''. Starting off with negative intentions will lead to failure. You need a different approach if you DESIRE to feel that presence in people eyes. And finally, it all starts with you, connect with your being. When you show your deepest and most beautiful colors, you will see that people will show their best selves back at you. PS. you can do whatever you want from my advice. I'm 18 years old and started my journey to the awakening. I don't like moralizing other people as I try myself to become the person I really am (and i gotta say that when you see the progress and improvement, it feels hella rewarding) but hey, if my advice helped you any kind of way, let me know it, I would like to know what you think about it, or should i say feel about it ;) keep it strong -Dave

@MegaRay6810 жыл бұрын
Liked the question the lady asked, and they way Eckhart explained is marvelous. The other side which we also face, by being in the present is that when we realize ourselves we tend to have little patience with people who are not there. Eg: In the presence of negative people whose level of consciousness is on the other end of the spectrum. Irritable negative vibrations tend to tick you off. I would like hear from Eckhart is there a way to handle this situation, without offending, and not staying away?
@mikebeeds10 жыл бұрын
From what I can recall, Eckhart has said that you should forgive and accept these types of people, for they are acting out with an egoic mind. It is the ego that is acting - the person's conditioned thought pattern of who they "are" and everything around them; creating labels and opinions for every experience. It is hard, but it's worth practicing acceptance of what is -- accepting these people for who they are, conscious or "unconscious."
@amazonia83936 жыл бұрын
Hey Daiva. I found that not letting myself go to their level to be a good thing. Also challenging them can be fun to if you don't allow yourself to become reactive. Sometimes my mum and her partner can tick me off so what I do is challenge them in a playful way. If they become jokingly playful to, great, I just changed their negative energy to positive..vibration goes up. Above all I just find that being none reactive myself is best. As Eckhart says in one of his books.."Don't wait for people to become conscious around you as you may wait a million years." Liberate yourself and then you can liberate others. Hope that helps mate.

Cool. I stopped watching these videos because I thought I had seen them all, glad there's some new ones! Interesting topic too, self esteem. I find it easy enough knowing no one's worth more than another. What I struggle with is when I'm doing so well and suddenly it becomes clear certain people still feel THEY are higher than me, lol, and then I think they need to know they're not.
@clairobics9 жыл бұрын
+Kathleen Williams 'ego transactions' - the ego likes to either be 'less than' or 'more than' out of defence and these are mirrors, you already know this and continuing with your practice as you are, you are showing these 'people' (mirrors) how to relate through presence and not ego level. 'THEY' are awakening you and vice versa in a way.

She is pretty focused on her issue with being with people who she has decided make her feel small. I would be interested to see if she was able to make such a leap after this good account of the situation by Eckart. If you connect with being it doesn't matter how others treat you period. If they aren't trying to physically harm you there is a gift in being impermeable by word darts. I believe I have made that shift of consciousness. Watch your reaction and don't be ruled by it, observe it, don't resist it, and it dissipates quickly. You have control not over others necessary but over yourself which trumps those who succumb and be lead around by their emotional noses.

If a guys feels that he/she is being abandoned by life, that thinking is very wrong. At the end of the above talk, Mr Tolle said that a being a precious jewel in the life. That is very true. A person, whether poor or rich, foolish or wise, has his/her value. But if that guy feels being abandoned, then he/she is abandoned. Why not hold the belief that life is embracing him/her all the time, so that he/she can do the best to lead a meaningful life?

Society has programmed its citizens like a military does its soldiers . You have been taught fear of authority instead of respect. So in a flash we know where we fit in with people and assume our conditioned rank and the role associated with it.

Abandonment is not an easy issue. This woman got to encounter her mother later in life and reconcile. Of course life doesn´t abandon us but humans need their primary care-givers primarly their parents and when these abandon us life gets very rough, some people should experience deep abandonment to know what it is, not only talk about it superficially.

Eckhard is so kind and patient. It is very sad, the personality of many humans, seeing others as smaller or more important then yourself, it all come from your ego self, no love there, so much jealousy, or please accept me kind of thing. But underneath they are very hateful towards others but that really has nothing to do with other people, but all to do with the person who look at life like that, yeh.. what I said all ego, no love. 😊😇 good luck everybody. My God fill your hearts.♥️
