Polls have lost their usefulness. We lost our national news delivered by the television during the dinner hour or before Johnny Carson. Now there is no free news that is national. Polls have continued, but they express how people get the news through their phones and are slanted by their choice in providers. News and politics is generally slanted, unless it is paid for, except by PBS.

I think looking at betting odds is a much better indicator than a poll. A poll is just asking people and they can say whatever they want. When people putting up actual real hard earned cash, it has a lot more weight.

This is a well known phenomenon called blue shift. Of course mail in votes are a cause, but it is also because larger cities overwhelming vote more democratic, and with so many people their tallying takes longer than rural towns which vote more republican.

@@pavelow235 completely agree altho my theory is that it was always assumed that whoever had the popular vote would always win the electoral college until the 2000 election so I’m inclined to believe the change in definition was genuine. I buy into the keys to the White House theory but I’m sceptical abt some of the keys he’s awarded to Harris this time around. You’re right tho by saying Harris will win the electoral college he has eliminated all the ambiguity of his prediction I think a stronger alternative prediction mechanism is to use the S&P500. The theory goes that a positive S&P500 for the 3 months preceding an election will always lead to an incumbent party victory and this has been accurate measure since the 1984 election which would suggest Harris is on course to win the election hete
