This. I was going to come in and comment the same thing. I'm a studying psychologist, and I've seen this kind of self-destructive behavior. Especially when he was discussing the money, I realized something. At this point, Boogie is at his "Halfway Down" point. They always say that the view is much more gorgeous halfway down the fall, and Boogie is starting to realize that. He cannibalized his own success, leaving him with nothing left, and as it began to strip away his life and rob him of any chance at happiness, he started to flail like a drowning man. He looks back at that time, and it just makes him depressed, because now he's realizing how pointless it was to throw everything away. Despite his attitude, despite his demeanor, despite everything, I do still feel kinda bad for him. He let depression, addiction, and fear ear at him to the point where his own life was nothing worth maintaining long term. He became a candle that was burning at both ends, but I don't think he even realized it.

On the fat shaming thing i think there is a point in which the truth does need to be said. For anecdotal stuff i was almost 400 lbs at one point but my friend pulled me to the side one day and said "hey man, you are getting really fat dude. Im worried about you and you need to do something about it" and that conversation alone made me realize i need to be healthier. Now im 300 lbs but im much more muscle than fat and im really healthy all because my friend had the nerve to tell me that i was fat and needed help with it.

@@ecyor0 Idk why can't it be both? If someone was to do it to me and I didn't know them it being brought to my attention would have kicked me into action. In fact there is a large amount that I care about people I don't know about. Why do I take showers on a daily when I don't need to? Well because if I don't the public around me will take notice and I'll feel ashamed and bad about it. Why do I groom my hair and beard? Because if it gets messy and gross the public will shame me and I don't want that. Same would be for my weight, I just needed someone to bring it to my attention.

According to Mike, who had done an interview with someordinarypodcast who had Oompaville and Nux taku with him who revealed that some of the stuff Boogie said in the documentary was him just bullshitting and being a funny guy. The bit with the job interviewer woman was something that they planned together since they knew he wasn't gonna get hired in the first place so Boogie decided to fuck with her. Also the shaman guy apparently has a stomach cancer or something since he has some kind of growths under his shirt which would cause him to sit down and the shaman also believes he found the cute for AIDS. Alright, I have so much to say, but I'll just say these 2 things. 1. My wife and I got married in about a month more than their time frame. I'm not saying it's normal, but it's weird to see those two talking about it when they don't even know themselves fully yet. We are 2 years apart in age and we both knew what we were getting into from the start. 2. The Canadian health care system has shown me how differently it treats women from men. My wife has endometriosis and while she is heartbroken to turn to this option, she wanted to get her uterus removed. Cut to years of telling her doctor to do it, he just wouldn't. She needed to get a different doctor who still was against it but did it finally. I have never had to convince a doctor to do anything if I brought it up to them. I could go on, but it's insane to learn. Love what you do and all I can say, I play smash Melee. I can't control what goes on with everyone else, I can just keep playing.

Much love to your wife. Going through the anemia from that is so brutal. I hope her quality of life is better and that it helps with her day to day function. I dealt with so much push back because of my age when it came to my uterine cancer. They weren’t biopsying me at all because “I’m too young to have it” but only checked for cervical. I had to push hard for the biopsy and we found out I had it for years without knowing. I was originally misdiagnosed with endometriosis. I’m glad she got to make the choice and pushed for what she wanted it’s a really tough and strong thing to do. But screw Canada for putting her in that situation to have to push.

“Sometimes you wanna go on KZbin and suspend your disbelief of reality and watch a funny video.” This right here what you said is 100% true. At the end of the day everybody has problems in the real world. Sometimes we wanna escape those problems by watching a funny video, playing a video game etc. Boogie essentially turned his channel from comedy and gaming into a therapy session channel and every video is just him complaining about his situation. It also doesn’t help that almost all of his problems were caused by him just making stupid choices. If we add up just the $600,000 he lost on crypto and the $200,000 he threw at sex workers were looking at $800,000 he just threw away. That also doesn’t include all the other irresponsibilities that he probably did with his money we don’t know about. Why he didn’t pay off his $250,000 house? Nobody knows. All of those health issues he caused himself in the first place. Almost all of that stuff he listed could be fixed by him going to talk to a counselor, get some help on his food addiction, and lose some weight. Even all the financial problems literally everything he said can start to improve himself right now if he wanted to but he chooses not to. He instead chooses to deliberately be a victim and guilt trip people to feel bad for him and all his poor decision’s he made. He wonders why people at the end of the day have no sympathy for him and chooses not to watch him and his view count has plummeted. Its overall a really sad downfall cause he was really beloved by the community as whole back in the day. He was even going in a good direction by losing weight and people were really encouraging. He just choose to go the opposite. Maybe his wife divorcing him had a big impact on him. He had a divorce in 2018 which was the same year where he started spending a bunch of money on sex workers. Idk even today just listening to him he is just a pathological liar and is now milking the drama of this documentary as much as possible before he fades down again.

"I'm not gonna walk into some job when I have 4 million subscribers on KZbin [...] I'm going to go back to creating content, go back to telling stories, and making money doing it." This line, 30 minutes into a documentary about how KZbin is not making him any money, sums up this man's entire mentality.

So many years ago when Boogie was on TGS podcast I thought this dude is cool, he is trying and he doesn't always do it but he is staying positive and that must be difficult. And just over and over again he has done these unhinged and awful things. Any person I'd be able to defend has long since passed.

On narcissism - "covert" is not a weaker form, it's just a different way of expressing it. The most common types are either "grandiose" narcissists - who prance around thinking they're the hottest shit. Or the covert/vulnerable narcissists, who are the more emotionally manipulative types, making themselves the victim at every occasion.

I dont like watching documentaries like this but I made myself to keep motivating myself to work on my own weight. I never want to end up like this. Weightwise and health conditions that is. Thankfully I shed my toxic manipulative nonsense a few years after high school when I realized what it was doing to me and my second ex. Took a while but god seeing stuff like boogie reminds me of it and I hate it.

40:27 so I work at a card game shop. I’m one of the top buyers. Gaea’s Cradle DAMAGED are $600. This documentary makes it seem like he’s only offering 200 for them but he’s actually referring to the last card they mentioned, City of Traitors, where $200 a piece is a very fair offer. Weird editing choice imo

I met all my of best friends through playing magic. I was in an abusive relationship and my only outlet was one day a week playing magic at my lgs. When they finally left me, those people at the shop were the ones who stepped up and invited me to their homes to get closer to me and help me. Dispite years of being in a relationship with a trans person surrounded by members of the lgbt community it was the cis straight nerds I met at that shop that helped me come out as trans and accept who I am. I'm really lucky that the people in that store were/are all awesome. Don't be a nerd like boogie, be a nerd like the most wonderful people that I know. Also as a friend group we also call each other rats 🐀

My DnD group splits food by just rotating who buys snacks. We all have favorites so it's a pretty consistent price, and if we want a meal for a longer session, that also rotates. And so no one really goes crazy with their order, knowing the next long session it'll be on them.

The worst part is not really all the problems he has. Its how he thinks he cant solve them, not because he is unable, but because he doesnt want to. You can lose weigth and get in a better situation, you can move to a less expensive house/apartment or cut your expending on things like games/etc to save money for your well being. But he doesnt want to, he thinks returning to YT will solve all his problems because he has millions or subs (wich like around 90% doenst watch his videos on a daily basis). All that + being sexist and manipulating his new partner with trauma.

All of his financial stuff either seems like a man who refuses to control his habits and is totally financially illiterate or he is lying about how far in the hole he is. 29:25 In his mind yes you are 46:38 The thing is he is probably ordering way more food than needed. I'm not trying to be rude but I used to play DnD in a group with a guy who fed the group like boogie does and where two large pizzas would feed all of us he would order at least 3 pizzas plus wings and other shit. It was a status thing and a "Look how great of a friend I am", it was a self worth issue and he thought his worth as a person came solely from what he could offer to the group tangibly. He ended up doing therapy and is much better but afterwards he explained that at his lowest he genuinely couldn't wrap his head around someone wanting to be around him solely because they liked him. I think Boogie is in a similar place he can't see any worth in himself besides money

59:07 Actually in many states in the US a warning shot is considered ok, but preferably it's done into the ground to prevent uninvolved people from being injured. Texas doesnt require a Warning Shot and Florida doesn't even require you to be at home. Other places like California consider even holding a weapon (even in a holster) during a confrontation to be a felony.

Yeah they might do that Alicia. But if you have a really rare form of cancer that is also really hard to detect even if you go to all the check ups then you are just fucked. Just like my dad was. One day after a party my parents were going to my dad complained about shoulder pain. He went to the doctor but they could not find anything wrong with it. The doc checked his weight and they realized that he had lost around 8 - 10 kilos which made the doc take notice and recommend more diagnostics to be done. Then he went to the hospital where they found something on the MRT at his small intestine. Then they made a liver biopsy and realized that it had already spread. Not even a year later he was dead. And it wasnt funny to watch.

That's the thing that fascinating about Boogie. He is aware of ALL of his flaws... but he just doesn't even try to work on them. He just makes an excuse or even flat out states he's not going to do anything to improve his life. I only heard about him back when he had a reputation as a wholesome dude, and I think this is sort of why. He was very self-aware, and he managed to keep his brazen refusal to change and improve from the public for a while, so the internet only saw someone who was very self-aware, and presumably was using that try and work on themselves.
